  • excellent song, and with strings yet, which made it in my opinion, one great song. firefightet/drummer, tim andrew

  • This was back in time women could sing!!

  • Between this song and "Some Velvet Morning" I've been enjoying a ton of Lee and Nancy lately. What a treat!

  • Im 25 and i love this song,.My older brother had the cd i think i heard it when i was 13, and i never could get this song outa my head. I need to find Psychotica Espina album too.

  • this is popular in Belgium again, since there's a dutch translation "toverdrank" by Guido Belcanto

  • Damn this is nostalgic and i'm only 22. My great uncle used to play this in his car.

  • Cool man, so I want some summer wine.... Freezing my butt off up in the north in michigan...

  • Classic, it has been remade time and again but the original can't be beat. Nancy was an underrated singer.

  • @RideHanna She still sings but unfortunately Lee went to Jesus a couple of years ago.

  • I like the cover from ville valo much more...his voice ist stronger and is more characteristic for this song :-)

  • The original is so much better then Bono and the Corrs. And I love the both of them. But no one can compete with this wonderful original score.

  • More...summer wine.

  • Very nice translation in Dutch from the Belgian artists Guido Belcanto and Ann Pierlee. See YouTube "Guido Belcanto - Toverdrank"

  • These two were so good together - their music is Hazelwood's memorial

  • Those were days, I had hair and a waist.

  • @knowallify LOL didn't we all? Hard to believe it was a liftetime ago.

  • Vietnam.

  • Only song by Nancy Sinatra that I can listen to. She obviously has a great voice as showcased here, but the songs she recorded were absolute trash. With a better manager she could have been a premier songstress for decades.

  • @Hvacrmitch Trash? get a life Nancy rocked out true some of the songs sucked but listen to In Our Time or How's That Grab You

  • @bunkerhilled You're telling ME to get a life? You're the one all upset because I posted something you don't agree with. What are you, 10? And "How Does That Grab You " is simplistic, pedantic, silly, un-original, and un-listenable, done by what has to be the world's lamest garage band. The 'music' is nothing but a baseline and a bit of horn. If that "rocked out" to you, then I feel sorry for you, for you know not Rock&Roll.

  • @Hvacrmitch You can not say that any Sinatra is bad, EVER. All of them are treasures to the world you twatt.

  • didnt know i could leave comments,,new to this pc thing!! reminds me of getting out of bed and listening over the stairs to my dads music when my mum was out!!

  • Love this song, sounds like it should be in a Tarantino film

  • @medenilam I agree about your Tarantino film. Just wait, he will use this or one of the other Sinatra/Hazlewood songs.

  • goblin market a la rossetti

  • WHEN I WAS A KID THIS WAS THE B SIDE OF SURGAR TOWN. PLAYED IT ALOT.

  • Grreat arrangement by guitarist Billy Strange. Can't imagine this tune without this arrangement.

  • Un- Fu&*ing real ! It Staggers the imagination!

  • lovely, hypnotic, erotic song. memorable. its has a slight folk quality to it--i wonder who wrote it.

  • this song makes me go: I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!! BEST MEMORIES EVER

  • the old years.......... 81 HA

    4 ever!!!!!!!

  • manu caho me gust tu

  • Sorry Frank, Yours daughter is more musical.

  • This is the original ? ..I always hear in spanish with kela gates and the belkings of peru..good topic, i love this version also ... do not know who sang first ,but both are very beautiful

  • Fantastic-Evergreen. I love it.

  • lee looks amazing like my probation officer

  • I live in Pakistan and fond of good music...and this one is very soothing and melodios...thanks for sharing....and thanks to you tube that this is possible because of this.

  • @furki99 lol no summer wine available in pakistan unless you have some christian friends

  • I can't believe I finally found this music. I'm in the moon! I am brazilian and when I was a teenage, I used to listen to this strong, strange e fantastic melody on the radio and then I dreamt. Now, I can feel this sensation again. It's too much, unbelieveble!

  • @Varanoaffair you must be so stoked!!!

  • love it <3

  • An alle Liebhaber des Techno Sonds ,versucht das mal nachzumachen.!

  • So much better than what laughingly passes for "music" today . . .

  • <3

  • down the memory lane, my fantastic youth comes alive

    pradip

  • One of my very favorite songs; a mesmerizing blend of Lee's crisp, masculine voice and Nancy's softer, sensual tone. Perfect duet- just my opinion.

  • Nancy <3

  • What a cool sound. Who produced it?

  • @nesnejls "Summer Wine" was produced by the legendary Lee Hazlewood, who described this song as "liquid love". Oh, yes. It was arranged by Billy Strange.

  • zo worden ze niet meer gemaakt :(

    echt goede muziek.

  • Nothing to see,

    I love you Demis!...

  • No one believed that Lee Hazelwood and Natalie Wood were seeing each other during this time...Nancy had a hard time getting him to do the video. He declined over 4 times and then reluctantly agree'd...If Natalie could visit on the set, and bring the cast and crew donuts . All were pleased and on went the show

  • i adore this song <3

  • This song rocks.........hell yeah

  • Nancy Sinatra should remember to have "30 Days of Gregorian Masses said for the Soul of Lee Hazelwood so that he can be released from Purgatory..."Dan O'Niallain

  • Yeppi , u made my day :D

I am a developer and I got sick from coding , tried to relax, and felt song ringing in my ears " the corrs and bono's version ", but instead I got this , same lyrics , rythme , but the original golden taste is another story :-)

    Greetings from Egypt :-)

  • @socratov2008 greetings from ATX!

  • @socratov2008 haha, same to me!

  • Perfect.

  • cool... greezz from serbia

  • The song is as intoxicating as fine wine !

  • What the 60’s gave us is some of the great music productions this is one of them The short film from some velvet morning is good stuff the story line and the moment in time; nothing short of bizarre. I don’t even know where to start.

  • Absolutely fantastic evergreen song.

  • Que hermosa voz de Nancy Sinatra, alguna vez escuche este tema cuando era niña, hoy después de muchos años lo encuentro en el youtube

  • Just beautiful...........

Close your eyes & go into the past!

  • I remember these wild days in the sixties and I don't regret a thing. Until a angel with jet black hair appeared and turned the elusive dreams into reality. And she mixed a taste of chocolate into the strawberries and cherries and I drink the sweet summer wine from her lips ever since

  • This is not only summer wine , it is an all-season wine , which is meant to be taken throughout life

  • heard Villa Valo's version first, but prefer this!

  • @KOPA623 Not only did Lee have integrity but "balls of steel". At the time, Nancy had just divorced Tommy Sands which p o.' d daddykins "the chaiman of the board" big time. Tommy's career went from big star to death star in a matter of months. Lee had to have known this- but still he collabretated with Nancy and daddy

  • simplemente genial

  • I have heard this song since my schooldays and liked it the first time i heard it nearly four decades ego and have litstenting to it oft and on ..a lovely song

  • Simply perferct!

  • Timeless...

  • I love getting back from the Packy with 2 40 oz. Budweisers and 2 Jugs of Arbor Mist each Thursday morning so I can listen to the 60's like Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood, who is considered a "Cowboy Singer to this day"...Dan O'Niallain

  • These two are pillars of excellence.

  • oh thank God for my Dad, who owned records like this, and they became part of my childhood, my permanent memories for all my days to come.

such a harmonious mix of voices that take me right back all those years ago - thanks Dad :-)

  • @trueplayer367 i know how you feel ,my parents played this album so much that after over 40 years i can still sing every word to every song that nancy and lee sang together

  • @trueplayer367 I wish my daughter would say that as you did. I owned over 3.000 LP's such as this one. And still listen to them a lot. Music for me is everything.

  • Ich finde dieses lied einfach hamma obwol es eigentlich foll die kaka beinhalte

  • Nice song! :)

  • Er super fed. Hørte den første gang i dag

  • Super fed sang, som

  • summer wine means some good lovin'...this song could have been censored back in those very strict times

  • @pipefitter0127 If you told me many radio stations back i the day banned this song I wouldn't be surprised. It only got to #49 on Billboard's Hot 100. I heard it tonight coming home from a friend's house on CFZM Toronto and thought it was a kick-ass tune!

  • 1969 flashback - thanks!

  • i love this song

  • Спасибо!

  • This song & Nancy are both beautiful as she is perfect just look and you can see how beautiful she is .

  • Brilliant song!

  • if only every thing was made of these things x

  • Lovely Song.

  • My very greatest thanks - I had no idea this was on YouTube. This pair went together like strawberries and cream. Wow!

  • one of the beautist songs for ever , thanks!

  • einfach absolut klasse cult das gefällt mir tausendmal besser wie das was heute so angebotem wird top !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • From Frank to Nancy, it seems prerfect voice is hereditary.

  • "She took my silver spurrs, a Dollar..and a dime" - My favourite line from the song. Lee was a brilliant songwriter/performer.

  • great !

  • ez az az érzés...

  • i didnt know this song till i heard it on radio and i couldnt believe my ears tht this is actually real song from real world , i shocked and stunned from the beautiful of the song and the voices wooow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mohebegy What a great comment! Almost as inspiring as the song, which of course, touches the soul!!!

  • I am sorry sunysun6 but Lee's voice againist Nancy's is just to stirring. Nancy and Lee #1. RIP LEE

  • The best song ever. Only I honestly think that Ville Valo and Natalia Avelon simply do it better. Two people who probably never met before to click it like that .its amazing... Just like the comment before: Lees voice sharp- Villes even sharper, Nancys voice soft and worm- Natalias even softer.I hope i didnt offened anyone, this is just my opinion and I know that these people are legends... But sometimes just because yo are a legend doesnt mean you do it right. Ville and Natalia simply feel it

  • @sunysun6 -- I would tend to agree with you on some points -- I like Natalia's voice better, but for the character of the song itself, i still think Lee Hazlewood "owns" this song... After all, the main character of the song is a sort of grizzled cowboy who blows into town, and then was plied with alcohol, woke up dazed, ripped off and feeling like hell... Hazlewood's rough yet haunting voice is better for the part, at least IMO.

  • My favorite version, just love it :)

  • Awesome Song from the 60's: Thumbs Up!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG*****

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!

  • You guys should all check out Pablo668 and his family playing this. Great cover, even if it's a little informal.

  • Lee and Nancy were one of those rare teamings that were perfection..yin and yang

  • i normaly love the great oldies of the past.. but this lee hazelwood needs some rythem in his voice..nancy as always sounds amazing

  • Althrough im 16 years old..... I luv these GOLD HITS !!!!!

  • @Atracotoxin Me too <3 and im 15 <3

  • @Atracotoxin Although I'm a fetus and not born yet.... I luv these gold hits!

  • @Atracotoxin That you are only 16 years means nothing. The only thing that matters is that you have excellent taste in music. It makes me happy when young people know to appreciate real music and not just today's music that you make on the computers and that anyone who is not dumb, can be made to sound good. Just keep on enjoing the golden oldies Love Sussie

  • how old was Nancy.............when this was playing

  • @pkappel006 ..... she was 27 when this was recorded in 1967 (born June 8/40) This may be a re-recording which might be a little later, but that gets you into the right era anyway.

  • @Bultaco15 thanks partner for sharing your information....love her and this tune with Lee

  • @pkappel006 Me 2 ... she has such a haunting voice

  • cool 1967 couple that represents a hip 20s couple in america in chemistry style and fashion

  • Why is there a james bond sound in it? It hasn't been used in any james bond film, or has it? me and my granny has been trying to solve this mystery in hours.

  • @storymaker95

No need. it was on a album to You Only Live Twice album:)

  • brilliant vocals.

    Mary

  • who create this song??? who write the lyrics....music.. n tune??? genius

  • @dilafrogak lee wrote it.

  • skit

  • Their both voices are real instruments. Sound like looking to a sunset.

  • I was in the USAF when this came out. Can't remember how many 8 tracks & LPs of Nancy & Lee I wore out, but they were many. Brilliantly produced! Lee Hazelwood will never be remembered for all of his accomplishments, for they were many. RIP genius!

  • *Legendary* !!!!!!!!

  • @ttianmaar, i totally agree!

  • Hazelwood&Sinatra: Best duet ever! They are so deeply fitting, so classic! They overcome all previous and present attempts of building such a musical and personal combination again.

  • If you like this one try also "Ladybird" ;o))

  • Did Big Frank like Lee Hazelwood and Tina's boyfriend, James Farentino, at least at first? I like this duet of Nancy and Lee but it was completely unknown to me as someone from the 80's generation in which we all thought Nancy Sinatra only had "Boots"-a 1-Hit wonder so to speak which turns out to be not true. Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • I have the original L.P. Loved it then-------love it now.

  • I can't wait to get 3 large bottles of Arbor Mist at the Packy tomorrow morning, so I can listen to Lee Hazelwood and Nancy and Jim Morrison. Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, MA.

  • Wow,what a romantic sounding song and so very well sung by Lee and Nancy!I wish there could be more of music of this caliber, superb in every way.

  • unglaublich gutes lied, i love it, diese stimmen...

  • so beutiful, so seductive it's almost haunting.

Amazing song which I could listen to all night.
