Mark Gatiss (or it might have been Steven) says in the commentary that his understanding of Sherlock's relationship to the Woman in the original books was that he had deep respect for her because she was the only Woman to ever beat him, but that he didn't feel they had a romantic relationship. So yay for us!

It was a really good kiss scene, but i didn't the show was particularly interesting plot-wise. I could only watch it for the Benedict Cumberbatch dialogue and the odd Sherlock references. Really? A mathematics genius who doesn't get along with people, his brother, and raised bees? Bit of a type cast there.
