@autman123 I don't know what stradivarius violin is but I just saw America's Got Talent Live tonight in Oakland and boy was it so good. Everyone was great but Jackie is the greatest of them all. She sung three songs, "O Mio Bambino Caro, Pie Jesu, and the most beautiful rendition of "My Prayer" that I have ever heard in my life. I was so blessed to be able to be there tonight. I thank the Lord for it.

I just can't get over how this extraordinarily polite, well balanced, typical, normal 10 year old is able to handle so much pressure and deliver flawlessly (well, almost flawlessly) every single time! How could she have happened? I've gotten pretty ancient now, and I repeatedly bless myself that my genes and lifestyle allowed to live long enough to witness it!

Has anyone besides me wondered just what set Jackie off jumping for joy and screaming, "I did it!" backstage after this performance? At first I assumed she was celebrating the entire performance, but I've since come to suspect it was something else. She sang the final three syllables (notes) in one breath. Take a look at her 9/23 performance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. She sneaks in a little breath before the last note.

@lovinlavitaloco On the following night's "Results" show, they did a lead-in from the night before as each act was called out to pick finalists. Jackie's lead-in showed her running into the backstage area, jumping up and down and screeching, "I did it!" She then did a cute little laughing to herself thing with her hands clasped in front of her, and then rushed into her mother's arms yelling, "I did it, Mommy!" I thought my heart would melt from joy over this phenomenal person's happiness.
@lovinlavitaloco If you thought that was observant, how about the fact that this phenomenal 10 year old is so polite she even says "Please" to her duck! And instead of saying - like most of us would - "I'm going to sing ....", she says, "I'm going to be singing ....." And has my fascination with this person taken me totally off the tracks, or does she magically morph from child to consummate, committed performer the instant her left foot hits the pedestal?
man i used to study classical music, as a voice major man i disliked singing classical but as i listen to jackie i finally see the beauty in this type of music. this is what i would think it would be when you step into heaven, you can tell which singers who are talented and the ones who are blessed, she is both.
I just noticed something at the very end of your video autman... with all the top ten acts out on the stage... Michael Grimm and Jackie having a moment together.. very sweet... She surely thinks very highly of him so I guess I have to also.. lol... but there will never be a doubt in my mind (or millions of others) where the top talent was on that show.. she has raised the bar so high that I'm afraid next year will be quite disappointing..
I don't know if you know this but Jackie's dad said on a talk show that if Jackie won they were going to help Michael and his Grandparents with the money.
So no matter what happened Michael's Grandparents were getting a house.

This my favorite of Jackie's performances. It is truly mesmerizing. There are times when I'm convinced she is at one with the music. I don't think she has a care in the world when she is performing. She is in another state of consciousness and suddenly comes back to our world after her performance. Her reaction to the applause is priceless. I love the word Evanchoized!

Piers, for all his faults, did put this performance in best perspective - but Sharon is not far behind.
At this point, AGT was a sham and a non-entity... everyone knew who the true winner was... it was simply a matter of the Evanchos working out a scenario which protected Jackie and preserved her future... it worked out... Jackie will be AGT's 1st and only superstar!
She did not have that nervous quiver in her voice when she sang it on the Tonight Show. This is the second year a country boy has beat an opera singer.
I think he won the hard ship vote in conjunction with the fact that people are just not into opera. The majority of music sold and bought in this country is Rock,Pop,Rap,Country etc but not opera.
Only Neil Boyds did it When he beat Eli Mattson a singer in season 3

The best part of Jackie not winning is that she will not be stuck with the Cut throat pirates at NBC,She only has to finish the tour, and then she will be free of contractual commitments. Michael will end up just like last years winner Kevin Skinner. By the way where was Kevin ? They have screwed him out of being on the show this year and totally screwed up his carrier.

It makes you wonder what kind of person gets a thrill out of doing something like that. They are nothing but cowards & bullies who in most cases are very jealous of others achievement, because they have not achieved anything for themselves. Well that is too bad they need to grow up and get their lives in order, and stop blaming others for their downfalls.
Pie Jesu - my favorite performance by Jackie during the AGT series. And she just absolutely nailed it perfectly. If you haven't seen any of the interviews with Jackie, use YouTube search with Jackie Evancho Interviews. One from a local Pittsburgh TV station and one from NBC. Both not only show her seriousness with music, they also capture her playfulness and bubbly enthusiasm - she is enjoying the moment to the fullest.
Truly sublime...in every sense of the word. Together, we are witnesses to this gift from heaven. I am deeply moved every time i listen to this. It is near perfection.

Just a thought here, but if jackie would have chosen a different song than ave maria I think she could have won this competition and not everyone in America understood this song, it is a sacred piece of music and if she sang something from broadway like wishing you were here again it would have gone differently for her. Latin is a very old language after all. Her pie jesu was perfect though.
@bparno I think that lots of people who voted for the other contestants would agree that jackie was the most special act and that if it wasn't for her age or the act in las vegas. they would have voted for her and she would have won. But people also understood that Las Vegas was more suited to the other contestants.. and that her time will come soon enough, she's going to be a star one way or another.. and a multi-millionaire.. They did her a favor by not making her win, she'll be ready soon

She is America's new little sweetheart and we are all praying for her.

I almost choke up when I think we won't see this little angel for a long time after this show is over. We will probably only hear her beautiful voice on her many million recordings. If you don't think Jackie is the most talented on this show and her singing doesn't amaze you or give you goosebumps or even make you tear up then don't vote for her. However if your trying to save her from Las Vegas or the evils of stardom or you don't like opera(which this really isn't ) then these are ridiculous reasons. This is a talent show and she is by far the biggest talent here, without all the gimmicks! She is absolutely amazing and deserves to win.
What an incredible performance from someone so young, she is the best talent I have ever seen on any talent show, and that includes american idol. This child walks with the angels to be able to sing like this.

I would respond the same if someone elder were to sing this .. young or not her voice excels so many others. And part of the point is - if she can sing like this at 10 - think of her in 10years time from this!! NO 10 year old I have ever heard can sing half as good as her
@misstears002 -- Actually, that's not what usually happens. When kids have this great ability, and it's overused or under-trained, the skill often wanes as they get older. Not because they aren't still phenomenally talented, but because vocal chords can get seriously destroyed by such a young (i.e. still developing) voice striving for adult sounds.
And even aside from the age aspect, improper overuse of the vocals can wreck any singer. Julie Andrews is a good example of that.
This is just so beautiful, I keep coming back to this video, and I have this music going through my heart and soul all day long. Many thanks to all the people at agt who put this all together.
The much trumpeted Vegas headliner is nothing more than just another tour stop. Nothing more nothing less. Just a one hour show just like all the rest. I wish everyone would write AGT to complain as I did. This show should be about talent. AGT didn't lie they just didn't explain. By not explaining they planted in minds the question. " Who is the best Vegas act?". The question planted in minds should always be who is the best talent? Voting was and continues to be weighted for adults by AGT.

Just my opinion, but I think that her voice might be a little too mature to sing the Pie Jesu. No doubt about it, she is good. But she did drop a few of the words.
To Win Jackie needs something special that grabs everyone. I hope and pray that Jackie selects and Sings something from Phantom of the Opera. #1 It was Phantom that launch Jackie into singing, #2 She knows every song by heart, #3 People want to hear something that they have an affinity to, that's Phantom. #4 "Not so operatic, but popular" #4 Can show a different side of Jackie, without going POP. #5 She would LOVE to do it.

Was impressed with FG's first performance, nothing like it, but it doesn't really change, new has worn off. Once was enough. How does that level sustain a Vegas act? I have watched Jackie's performances over and over. I watch Sissel, Brightman, Westenra and others and while I enjoy their singing, I watch Jackie maybe because her youth/simplicity is very humbling, unmatchable.
I wonder if she would be so popular if she wasn't an attractive child. Looks are so much a factor in this media world. She must be protected from being exploited. I also believe that talent should be developed, if it's the wish of the person with the talent. Nobody should be forced into anything. @arklat A large part of Jackie's popularity is her age. Would we go gaga over her if she were an adult? Maybe not. We tend to expect this level/more from adults and are awed when a child achieves it. She seems very certain what she wants, believes in what she can do, realizes she's not there yet. In an interview she said she practices 1 hr daily, dad says she gets treated no differently than siblings. Interview disputes unkind think said about family. Love you Jackie!

Doesn't have to be a Vegas act. It's a national tour that has a stop in Vegas. That's all. I can't believe how long this has to be repeated. And phantom of the opera is about the most popular and celebrated stage show ever

Poppycock gives a show and is entertaining and so is fighting gravity that is a show you can talk about. It is impressive only because she is 10 years old. @iceijm6789 Celing Dion has had an act in Vegas for over ten years, Vegas is just one of the cities the AGT tour is headlining in, Charice Pempengco just had a show in Vegas and she is 17, so judging from all the views that she has had on you tube it would seem apparent that there are many who would venture forth to see her perform there.
I don't think I could ever grow tired of listening to this little girl. My co-workers are probably tired of me replaying this video. Her voice is addicting. I can't stop listening to this little girl with a professional opera singers voice. I just hope she chooses another beautiful song to sing next week. man i used to study classical music, as a voice major man i disliked singing classical but as i listen to jackie i finally see the beauty in this type of music. this is what i would think it would be when you step into heaven, you can tell which singers who are talented and the ones who are blessed, she is both.

I just noticed something at the very end of your video autman... with all the top ten acts out on the stage... Michael Grimm and Jackie having a moment together.. very sweet... She surely thinks very highly of him so I guess I have to also.. lol... but there will never be a doubt in my mind (or millions of others) where the top talent was on that show.. she has raised the bar so high that I'm afraid next year will be quite disappointing..

This my favorite of Jackie's performances. It is truly mesmerizing. There are times when I'm convinced she is at one with the music. I don't think she has a care in the world when she is performing. She is in another state of consciousness and suddenly comes back to our world after her performance. Her reaction to the applause is priceless. I love the word Evanchoized!

At this point, AGT was a sham and a non-entity... everyone knew who the true winner was... it was simply a matter of the Evanchos working out a scenario which protected Jackie and preserved her future... it worked out... Jackie will be AGT's 1st and only superstar!

She did not have that nervous quiver in her voice when she sang it on the Tonight Show. This is the second year a country boy has beat an opera singer.
I think he won the hard ship vote in conjunction with the fact that people are just not into opera. The majority of music sold and bought in this country is Rock,Pop,Rap,Country etc but not opera.
Only Neil Boyds did it When he beat Eli Mattson a singer in season 3

The best part of Jackie not winning is that she will not be stuck with the Cut throat pirates at NBC,She only has to finish the tour, and then she will be free of contractual commitments. Michael will end up just like last years winner Kevin Skinner. By the way where was Kevin ? They have screwed him out of being on the show this year and totally screwed up his carrier.

If you haven't seen any of the interviews with Jackie, use YouTube search with Jackie Evancho Interviews. One from a local Pittsburgh TV station and one from NBC. Just a thought here, but if jackie would have chosen a different song than ave maria I think she could have won this competition and not everyone in America understood this song, it is a sacred piece of music and if she sang something from broadway like wishing you were here again it would have gone differently for her. Latin is a very old language after all. Her pie jesu was perfect though.

But people also understood that Las Vegas was more suited to the other contestants.. and that her time will come soon enough, she's going to be a star one way or another.. and a multi-millionaire.. They did her a favor by not making her win, she'll be ready soon

I gave up trying to count all the you tube views this little lady has received over the past three to four weeks, and I had to stop at 23 million and there were a lot more sites that I hadn't been able to count because of time restraints. Thanks Autman for the info on wednesday nights show, it should be amazing and I am sure if she wins there will be over 23 million people smiling across this land. If you don't think Jackie is the most talented on this show and her singing doesn't amaze you or give you goosebumps or even make you tear up then don't vote for her. However if your trying to save her from Las Vegas or the evils of stardom or you don't like opera(which this really isn't ) then these are ridiculous reasons. This is a talent show and she is by far the biggest talent here, without all the gimmicks! She is absolutely amazing and deserves to win.

@misstears002 -- Actually, that's not what usually happens. When kids have this great ability, and it's overused or under-trained, the skill often wanes as they get older. Not because they aren't still phenomenally talented, but because vocal chords can get seriously destroyed by such a young (i.e. still developing) voice striving for adult sounds.
And even aside from the age aspect, improper overuse of the vocals can wreck any singer. Julie Andrews is a good example of that.

The much trumpeted Vegas headliner is nothing more than just another tour stop. Nothing more nothing less. Just a one hour show just like all the rest. I wish everyone would write AGT to complain as I did. This show should be about talent. AGT didn't lie they just didn't explain. By not explaining they planted in minds the question. " Who is the best Vegas act?". The question planted in minds should always be who is the best talent? Voting was and continues to be weighted for adults by AGT.

Also this is an amateur competition and she 10 years old so to drop a note or two is ok.
It is what she did with all the good notes that counts and she nailed most of the song with incredible purity in her tone.
Not to many opera singers can sing with such clarity and presence.
Just check out all the others who sang this song.
I think she is the very best of all. With some time, and expert help she is going to be phenomenal.

Was impressed with FG's first performance, nothing like it, but it doesn't really change, new has worn off. Once was enough. How does that level sustain a Vegas act? I have watched Jackie's performances over and over. I watch Sissel, Brightman, Westenra and others and while I enjoy their singing, I watch Jackie maybe because her youth/simplicity is very humbling, unmatchable.

I wonder if she would be so popular if she wasn't an attractive child. Looks are so much a factor in this media world. She must be protected from being exploited. I also believe that talent should be developed, if it's the wish of the person with the talent. Nobody should be forced into anything. @arklat A large part of Jackie's popularity is her age. Would we go gaga over her if she were an adult? Maybe not. We tend to expect this level/more from adults and are awed when a child achieves it. She seems very certain what she wants, believes in what she can do, realizes she's not there yet. In an interview she said she practices 1 hr daily, dad says she gets treated no differently than siblings. Interview disputes unkind think said about family. Love you Jackie!

I keep coming back to listen to Jackie. One thing i realized is that she dont need any props or star spangles etc to prove her talent. when you see her sing-you are witnessing raw God given talent from above. I pray for her success. In my eyes she is already a winner even if she dont win agt contest. But why shouldnt she? If she doesnt , then its becuz seh is too good for vegas -her voice is for the all the world to hear. Poppycock gives a show and is entertaining and so is fighting gravity that is a show you can talk about. It is impressive only because she is 10 years old. I can't stop listening to this little girl with a professional opera singers voice. I just hope she chooses another beautiful song to sing next week.
