  • And just think, in just 7 years from this footage, the B-58 would be retired! Just compare that to the longetivity of the B-52, B-1B and even the B-2A.

  • Boy, I sure wish I could hear what this aircraft sounded like.

  • @pulgabros did you ever hear the Concorde take-off ? the -58 sounded very similar.

  • Most beautiful US Bomber ever.

  • @tdbdman I'm in total agreement....really wish I could have seen it fly. I remember one summer in the late 60's hearing and feeling a sonic boom (grew up in New England) and my dad telling me not to worry, it was just the B58 on patrol.

  • Two words for this aircraft: supersonic poem!

  • i have the strangest boner right now

  • Any idea who was the piolt? My dad flew the B58 and the B47 back in the day...I have some Life magazine pic's taken in Bunker Hill

  • @john102361 Bunker Hill AFB, grew up about 40 miles East of there and went to ROTC Summer Camp there in 1964 when they had the B58s in operation.

  • Awesome looking Plane

  • @F3rgo666 These appear to be late models with the TCP (two component pod) which is the center line fuel tank/weapons pod. The idea was that after the fuel was consumed to drop the "outer" fuel pod, which reduced drag for the run into the target. The original "pod" was a single fuel/weapon pod, hence had to be carried all the way to the target.

  • The most beautiful aircraft ever designed.

  • i love this aircraft...thanks for this rare footage
