  • does it rely on the diesel for braking as it has no electric current to operate it's own braking system? if so it must a tremendous amount of strain on tje diesel locos brakes?

  • @24nov67 if i remember rightly, one of the various pipes connecting the loco to the unit controls the braking, but im not entirely sure. Hth! Luke

  • yes, virgin had all there 57/3s took off by FGW for night riviara services coz FGW are maintaning there 57/0. Also 57303 was in Scotland (Seen it at Glasgow works yesterday with another VT 57)
