  • As I see the pictures, I realize rock is one of the most dangerous professions known to man. I interviewed Ray the other day. I'm so glad he's come through it all. God Save The Kinks!

  • This is another testimony that The Kinks are one of the greatest bands to ever rock on this planet... Ray Davies is a musical and creative genuis.. I think he is without a doubt one of the greatest songwriters ever.. This song and celluoid heros are all universal themes.. That we can all relate to... sheer brilliance.. thank boys for rocking us all those years.. we love for it.. They truly are one of the greaatest bands in the history of rock music.. and very underated. Keep Rockin Ray. Love U.

  • OK, I'll give you John and Rick, but Keith Relf died in the mid 70s. He was electrocuted in his bathtub. And I forgot about the great Ronnie Lane, who passed in '97. Sorry if I'm being picky. It's a lovely tribute and a great song choice.

  • Keith Relf died May 14, 1976. He was electrocuted playing a guitar in his basement.

  • Keith Relf, John Entwistle and Rick Danko seemed to be missing as well.

  • @justlookin626 mmm those 3 were still alive when i made this video methinks

  • Fucken Excellent way to end this

  • At 0:43...is that Robert Johnson?

  • @JasonBonitati Yep! That's Ro-Jo

  • @SteveIronmaiden i did bitch

  • @SteveIronmaiden i had to laugh at your comment because i agree. the song is tops and so are the kinks. i think when someone disagrees that they do it just to get attention and get people riled up. we are the lucky ones, we know it is pure art, oh yeah!

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say The Doors

You say Hannah Montana, I say The Rolling Stones

You say Owl City, I say Led Zeppelin

You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Beatles

You say Justin Bieber, I say Queen

You say Taylor Swift, I say AC/DC

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die

  • @reubenco Was Queen being compared to Justin Beiber an ironic coincidence? Lol

  • Dusty Springfield?

  • Great way to end the video. 3 thumbs up!

  • jim morrison

  • What the FUCK is Tupac and Belushi doing in the video???????????

  • no joe strummer ?

  • Kurt Cobain :)

  • R.I.P hendrix ;'(

  • i think youll have to loop the song over a dozen times to put in all the greats that left us too soon!!!!

  • Thanks for including the late, great Richard Manuel. His piano and lyrical contributions to music were truly invaluable.

  • Nice collage, wrong song. Should be with Rock & Roll Heaven.

  • Hit #30 in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • I love this song, but this tribute to the 'fallen' makes me love it even more!

  • i see dead people

  • time 1:23- that guy faked his death in 1971! No one ever saw the body and it was buried before anyone knew he was dead. Except his fellow band members. Who want to have nothing to do with him. Now called Bill Loyer and living out west. Once called Jim Morrison formerly of the DOORS.

  • who's that hot sexy blonde on 4:34?

  • That's Wendy O. Williams (Plasmatics) at 4:34

She died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to

    the head in 1998.

  • ok thanks

  • "And when he feels down, he puts some rock n roll on

And it makes him feel alright

And when he feels the world is closing in

He turns his stereo way up high"

  • Hello you, hello me...

Ray may have wrote this for his brother Dave, but it sure sounds like he's singing specifically about me or you, don't it?

  • God bless the Kinks and God bless Johnny Cash.

  • awesome!

  • 0:48 Robert Johnson ?

  • Yes. That's RoJo @ 0:48 A Blues Legend and a pioneer of rock. He wrote: Come On in My Kitchen Last Fair Deal Gone Down Love in Vain Sweet Home Chicago They're Red Hot Travelling Riverside Blues Walkin' Blues Also, he sold his soul to the Devil ;)
  • Wow this is awesome.

It's sad how hard the life of a rock star is and this video and song really bring it home.

    Great job.

  • This is exactly what I was talking about as I wonder if Waters & Gilmour had ever heard this song. How much it would mean to PF fans if they would get back together while it was stll possible. Looks like I will spend my life living in a Rock N' Roll Fantasy. RIP Richard Wright. Shine On
