It is a common phenomenon for the triumph 1500 engine to run-on, especially after racing tuned with all factory installed anti-run on devices removed. The driver would have to simply put the car in gear in first, and then disengage the clutch as he turn off the ignition switch. It is a well known and commonly practiced excersize amongst MG enthusiasts.
the engine run on when you finished, thats a sign of tight valve clearances, just an observation thats all, i am in the process of tuning my 1500 midget with the hope of doing a few runs up loton park.

@croonersteve Not sure what you are trying to say about clearences? The tapping noise is the electric fuel pump. Glad you like it anyway.
