An amazing man. His diaries are fascinating. A true blue Tory who spoke his mind. He was respected by all parties. An intellectual heavyweight and a defence expert. There are far too few politicians like him. Above all, he was extremely patriotic and immensely proud to be British - as we all should be. Not much of that under Labour is there? I for one sadly miss him and will always respect him.
