Does anyone remember the band "LASH" that used to play at Gildersleeves around the same time? They had a female lead singer and were one of the most amazing bands ever!! If anyone remembers seeing them or anything feel free to comment b/c they might have been one of the most under rated bands of all time and I have no proof :)
used to see rat race back in the day early 80's. It was shocking to see them! they were just amazing. couldnt believe what i was hearing. mark hitt rules!!!
This is GREAT to see!! RRC, was my Favorite "club band," back in the '80's!! One of my favorite bands, period! Last time I saw them play, was around 1989 @ Back Streets in Katonah, NY. A Great Night, indeed! I use to see them, whenever they were @ "??"...in Yorktown, NY. I can't remember the name of the club...& I was there, a million times. Gee...I guess I over did "stuff" in the '80's? RRC, was always a BIG TREAT to see & hear. Thanks RRC! I live in Arizona now. No more NY winters!
Hi muffi77...Yes, your exactly correct...thanks! Actually, I remembered that it was Gemini, a few hours after I posted. Regarding Fore n' Aft - I don't think I ever saw RRC there. I saw many other bands at the Fore n' Aft, though. I played there, a few times also. Thanks for the reply!
Hi muffi77, The name of that band, was "Freewheelin'." Classic Rock, Country Rock, etc. We only played at the Fore n' Aft "North"...a few times. We played at the White Plains "South" location...many times. Kind of a dump, when I look back at it. But...some fun times, too!! Take care...thanks for posting again! dave
Does anyone know if they had a song with the name "Lightning" in it that was on one of the compilation local band albums from the ny metro area in the early 80's? It was a great song!
They released "Struck by Lightning" b/w Bittersweet Love on a 45. I think on their own. "Dancing Flame was on a WPDH Compilation aroufnd 1980. I think I saw them about 150 times. This blows me away
Hi NY - this is so cool to see my old boyfriend Dave Chmela here (Rat Race Choir) - brings back the best memories. Thanks for showing this awesome video.
Oh, God . . .what a memory. I used to go see this band all the time at The Mad Hatter and Hammerheads. I even once went out in a snow storm to see them and the club was closed. It is great to hear them again. And yes Alaska, tata was great to hear live.
Cheers! I was tryin' to remember that club! Yep, I remember staying for 3 sets and an encore of them doing the Who's "Won't get fooled again" there once. Great show, tho my ears rang for days!
NYLawDoggie - what would have done if you had not recorded this show 30 yrs ago? Thanks for having the camera that night is all i can say!!

Probably, though I usually went to Hammerhead's if I was in that area. Imagine that. A choice of two clubs with live music to go to in the same area.
