@infinitecanadian At one time I'd agree with you but not lately. In fact for the last few years Maine has been hit with quite a few storms that produced tornadoes. The weather patterns are changing. In fact there have been so many tornadoes in Oxford County Maine within the last few years that the county installed a telephone warning system
@infinitecanadian Not sure if it's global warming or not. As for the telephone warning system it's called citywatch it was cheaper and more efficient to install it versus a terrestrial warning system. They can call everyone within the county who is in the storm's path. They can also use it to alert people for other issues as well. Of course if you don't have a land-line you have to sign up yourself. It remains to be seen how well it will work.
@mainmedic We haven't any warning system at all in Canada, but fortunately, we aren't the meteorlogical shooting-gallery nthat the U.S.A. seems to be.
when u saud that the clouds were blue that means that hail maybe big hail is in the storm. it is said that the sun reflects off the rain and hail creating a bluish greenish affect. great video!!
Hey! i feel bad for you guys! i heard that last week u had a tornado...im in the next town over....so far were the only ones who havnt had a tornado yet in the area......scary stuff
out of it stuff..............i have a very gud friend living in caribou & i hope him & his whanau r safe not just them tho all of u r safe.........but i gotta say motha nature is realy pissed off ain't she? earthquakes hea bad snow dumping ova thea & earthquake & tsunami in japan & tornado's.......kinda makes u ask wot does she have in store 4 us next????????? i shudder wen i think bout it
Haha, I was there. It was horrible! I'm a senior at Caribou high and we were having our Class night! Lightning hit the school and the doors slammed shut and the lights went dead. Never been more scared in my life, but I must say it was and will be a Class night to never forget!
Wow... that's Texas skies right there! freaky stuff, huh? Great video - it's so hard to capture the visual of those storm cells! Tip though - when the clouds start dropping down like that right above you - probably a good idea to take cover! :-)
@lizz1994 agreed. especialyl if mammatus lol. ive seen coulds like this in west chicago IL, ( numerous squall lines. also in OK, on my way out west lol. lvoe this stuff. i hate it for peope who have to clean up after thestorms break stuff. but that life unfortunately

@mainmedic How odd! Global warming, I suppose. What's a telephone warning system?

My mamere's house is on Brissette Rd. and was actually hit by the tornado. Whereabouts in Caribou are you located (where was this filmed)?
bigsissarose 9 months ago
@bigsissarose South Main St hill - near Hilltop School. The clip was filmed in the general direction of Brissette Road.
