  • It's been a decade ;( <3

Amazing cover... I may have only been 4 and unable to understand, my I will NEVER forget... and I will be sure my children never forget either...

  • Still remember it like it was yesterday, I was a 15 year old sophomore, school had just started. I walked into the living room to see one of the towers on fire and had no clue what had happened, hard to believe it's been almost 10 years, great cover by George

  • He is the only, THE ONLY, artist that could possibly have done that song on that program. That's the bottom line.

  • the king woooooo

  • I was in the 5th grade and didn't quite know who or what attacked America, but I did know that I was sad, angry and proud to be american!

  • U cammed this right off of the tv I did that already but the blk. line shows it witch stinks but works. Thanks for the Vid.Ranger4645.

  • And THAT is why it hasn't been taken down by Youtube. It's a video of my TV .

  • i knelt down & cried.

  • Covering one of george's song is one thing but him covering one of yours is just an honor.

  • All around great great song from alan jacksos but damn george sings so good! Alan and george are both great i love the lyrics very heartfelt song.

  • George sang the really well, Thats a true song of what it talks about. Its a very sad song.Lets hope nothing like 9/11 ever happend again.

  • this is my favorite alan jackson song and george did it so wonderfully!

  • This song is absolutely beautiful! George does it well, of course George sings everything well! Love this song!

  • i was in class when my mom came and picked me up she was scared to death

  • i was on an eighth grade field trip

  • i was watching " Russian Roulette "

  • i was just learning my ABCs

  • Alan Jackson should be proud. You could tell that this song had a very heartfelt meaning for George Straight as he sang it, and he did a great job.

You know that you've written a masterpiece when King George Straight gives you his stamp of approval by singing it.

Not that Alan needs anyone to tell him this was a good one.

  • absolutely beautiful. alan jackson should be proud of that one.

  • George Strait is "The King Of Country Music", in my opinion, and his rendition of this song was absolutely phenomenal!!!! I like Alan Jackson's version too and he is a great artist too. You can tell this song touches George. He had me in tears when I watched him sing this song. Great post!! Thanks.

  • me too he is the true king

  • George nailed this song.

  • George, you sing this better than Allen Jackson. Allen is good but he is not that great! Go george, all your fans love you!

    God Bless.

  • I'm sure George sings it better than Allen Jackson, but I think Alan Jackson gives him a run for his money

  • I am usually a purist when it comes to music & most of the time I despise re-do's of songs, but this one absolutely takes the cake. King George should have been the first one to do this. Hopefully one day CMT does a Giants show devoted to him!

  • George Strait didn't do this first because Alan Jackson wrote it. And I'm tired of people taking swipes at Alan here. This is a beautiful song whether it is sung by Alan or George.

I agree that George also deserves his own Giants special, but people shouldn't forget that this song came from Alan Jackson's heart. George's version is equally as beautiful as Alan's, but let's not forget where the song originated from.

  • I AM NOT..repeat AM NOT taking a swipe at Alan Jackson. I realize this came from his heart and it is beautiful on that merit alone. And where was it said that George Strait did it first? I said that he SHOULD have done it first. I adore Alan Jackson...always have, always will. He is one of the few remaining traditional country artists out there. He is also one of the only artists that has the potential to eclipse George Strait's record of solo #1 hits.

  • I know you said George SHOULD have done it first, but I was pointing out that the reason Alan did it first is because he also wrote it. It wouldn't have made sense for Alan to write it just to let somebody else perform it first, now would it?

By the way, my comment about "taking a swipe at Alan" was directed at everybody that has been saying George does this song better. I love both versions equally, and I believe people should enjoy the song for what it says and not compare Alan to George.

  • george strait sings this better than alan jackson no offense and i have this song where george strait sings this song in my phone:):):)

  • he might have sang it better than Alan.

  • what show was this on? This is a really cool version of that song

  • This was on the Alan Jackson Country Giants Special.

  • CMT Giants- Alan Jackson
