If you watch the movie he goes to an aquarium and.. i think its his father.. tells him that the box jellyfish is the deadliest creature in the world but will smiths character thinks its beautiful. Also, he wanted to donate more than just his heart and using a jellyfish wouldn't damage any of his organs including his heart even though its poison is cardiotoxic, it basically just stops the heart.
