Excellent! Being a teen at the time, I was always looking for something different and exciting. This guy, along with Bowie, fit the bill, cuz they really fussed over their looks. Makes me happy to to hear this again, ha ha ha, cool!!
As a musician myself, the beginning is the best part. It's fun to hear the unedited part and then the song we know and love. Makes me feel as if I was there.
Wow... Great memories of late '72 when this came out...was a sophomore in high school. I had the 45 for this tune and I played the living hell out of it..wish I could go back to those simple carefree days
Starting senior year, fall of 72, Greenwood High school, this song takes me back to those times, one of my all time fav songs........Think of me.......you know that I'd be with you if I could...
Where in the world has this kind of talent gone? All I see anymore is no-talent JUNK being thrown at us from this idiotic Xfactor and shows of the like! We need some REAL creativity like this out there again.
Thanks for the video and of I have always appreciated Hello it;s Me and takes me back to an innocent , happy place. So many memories attached to Todd`s music.
@JohnAnonAnonAnon This song, out of a few, have a studio band. Guess what? The studio musicians who recorded Hello It's Me are some of the best jazz musicians. Ever. Brecker Brothers. :)
This is some nice, driving a long distance in the night, listening music. Great talent. They say there is nothing new under the sun. Well I think that the time has come to bring great music and lyrics back in to rotation.
This song went to # 5 in 1972, and I saw him play this and more of his good music live at Massey Hall in Toronto on Oct. 30, 1978. I remember the date because it was my birthday. When I was going to the bathroom I saw this tall, skinny guy walking my way from the dressing room area, and sure enough, it was Todd. It was really cool to meet him and chat for a minute. I've always liked this song.
One of the best songs ever written

Thanks for the clean audio post. The instrumentals are great on headphones. I especially like the trumpet and trombone near the end.

Whats with the synchronization problem at the start of this song? I thought he recorded each instrument himself?

@JohnAnonAnonAnon,
Side four of "Something Anything" was recorded live with a band in the studio.
clayopalstar 7 months ago 2
@JohnAnonAnonAnon it was a put on . AS if he had a whole band in there. He was playing with himself (no pun intended)........

@heehaa99
Of course there's a band with him!
The first three sides of "Something Anything" are Todd alone in the studio.
