  • Yup, they had BAD day alright! *shudder*

  • I was wrong. I went directly to the source and asked Dweezil himself through his website DweezilZappaWorld/

"It is Daphne Zuniga. At least as far as I remember.

    DZ"

  • did I see Daphne Zuniga @ 2:27 ???

  • This is about the issue of the day: The cold war.

  • Daphne Zuniga at 2:30?

  • @krelbar -Justine Bateman

  • @QtommyQ holy shit NO that was not Justine Bateman. get your vision checked. not even close

  • @krelbar HA I just posted the same thing before I saw your post... it's gotta be!

  • Wow! I forgot about this! I love it!

  • Moon Unit Alpha and Moon Unit Zappa.

  • haha, so cheesy.. the vocals suck.. bad

  • i love the brother and sister intereaction...as i tried to involve my kids into music :O)

  • Artificial harmonics, whammy bar and tapping. The worst of 80's guitar solo excess distilled into a few seconds. Cheers Dweezil.

  • Great Guitar skils, stupid lyrics........and Dweezil is soooo cute!!

  • guitar...thumbs up... vocals... thumbs down...

  • Wow I wish we had a higher quality version of this. Also I really want that slime green Charvel.

  • @lonewolfsx29 and a guitar tab for this.

  • Thumbs up if u are watching it in 240p

  • Good memories from this vid. I remember when this first premiered on MTV (when MTV actually played music,) and I LOVED IT. I already loved their father's music, so I was curious. Yes, it had silly lyrics, but I loved Dweezil's ability on the guitar, and it was a fun little song. And yes. Dweezil was a very underrated guitarist then, but he is very capable to bring Frank's music to the masses again in Zappa Plays Zappa. Thanks for posting this.

  • Nice looking girl.

    Stupid song.

    Ridiculous video.

  • I never saw this video! HA HA! Who woulda thunk? Frank Zappa and Robert Wagner together. Fun stuff!

  • Good solo!

  • wow great guitarist,very underrated

  • @Tereso32

Yeah and He is MUUCH better right know check out his Inca Roads Solos or his Pygmy Twylyte Solos on youtube

Also his Go With What You Know CD is very good Hard Rock / Electronic Music with E-Guitar Elements

  • I LOVE THIS TUNE!!!!

  • I love this SONG!!

  • I would love to Moon her a little..lol!

  • This song is about that liberal fantasy that if we get rid of our nukes the world and the U.S. would be safer.

  • @jshkendra I'd rather live in a liberal fantasy then a conservative one.

  • @gawkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Well last I checked a liberal was in office and failing miserably. Because all of his plans are a fantasy. SO you should be very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jshkendra Then you don't know what you're talking about... Obama is very central... and the only people who think he's a liberal are people so far to the right that EVERYTHING seems liberal to them...

I wish we did have a liberal in the White House.

  • @UncleMilo You have someone who is left of the left. Talk to me after nov,2012

  • @UncleMilo what's not liberal about a guy who has exploded gov't employment, massive spending & phenominal deficits, double the debt in 3 yrs vs what Bush spent in 8 yrs, Obamacare, record food stamps & unlimited unemployment benefits, and the rushed depletion of Social Security due to this stupid FICA tax cut ?

what's not liberal about all that? yeah, sure counds "centrist" to me LOL

oh and don't forget class warfare. that's a Centrist staple! sarc

  • Is that Markie Post rocking a sandwich?

  • @indra72 Nope, Joan Lunden,

  • This is the probably the worse rock song in human history.

  • Dweezil had lessons from EVH, that's why he sounds like him. Insanely talented guitar player. If you haven't listened to his CD's from the 80's-90's, go back and check them out. He absolutely shreds and writes great pop-metal tunes.

  • @thetestingguys Check out the sick guitar riffs on the song called "Fugitive" by Whodini. Forget that it is basically a rap song but George Young, Angus Young brother is really awesome on guitar. Somebody needs to do a remake of this song without the rap and just shed the hell out of it on lead! Pass it on.

  • moon, dweezil, frank zappa, and charlie sexton in the same video. awesome

  • Moon is so pretty! she is good that song!

  • Moon is do pretty! she is good that song!

  • Her voice sort of reminds me of Frank's...in a good way :P

  • I don't even know what she's talking about ... but I like it!

  • I love this stuff lol the zappas all have amazing talent

  • 30 people don't know what to talk about!

  • now that brings me back

  • It's like Bananarama meets Ratt, AWESOME!

  • Pretty rockin.

  • This is one of the best guitar solos ever. His dad's solo on Montana is also the shit.

  • people anyone got the video or music You cant ruin me now that song rocked off of this album

  • people anyone got the video or music You cant ruin me now that song rocked off of this album

  • At the beginning of the solo you can tell Vai gave him some instruction =) That is pretty good for his age.

  • @devax1986

Dweezil really learned some stuff from Steve Vai, and he tried to sound like Eddie Van Halen on his First recordings

check out the video of Dweezil playing Eruption its pretty good

  • i love this album.....i was 14 when this came out......my fav song off this album is ''I wanna Yacht''...with Bobcat G.....AWESOME!

  • So many cameos in this video. Daphne Zuniga. Charlie Sexton.

  • great family i bet

  • Dweezil, I always thought your sister Moon was fine.

  • This is the best song in the world.

  • @caesiume wtf?.... are you on drugs?... XD

  • This is actually sick.

  • wow forgot about this guy.epic guitar solo?

  • wow...what a great blast from the past! Haven't heard this in a while. Thanks for posting!!

BTW - I totally forgot Charlie Sexton made a cameo in this. Another one of my fave players!!

  • WHY ARE YOU ALL ARGUING? Frank would get a kick out of the attacks you guys make and the mud your slinging. if ya dont like it--- dont watch it,or waste time/energy on it. it is what it is. a friggin video---you wont get a didease from it

  • Dweezil rocks! and its so cool telling kids about him at school because i inluence them too! its like bringing history back to life hahahahah

SOOO CHEESY THO, LOOK AT THAT HAIR:D

  • @singforyourlife12 Dweezil isn't dead, his dad is.

  • Dweezil solo at 2:39 is so awesome! I hope I can play as good as him some day. he must really make his dad very proud cause he's following in his steps

  • I remember buying the vinyl album at the time it came out.Brilliant song.Excellant guitar work and lovely vocals by the beautiful Moon Unit.

  • Dweezil was and is totally underated as a musician....great guitar player!!!

  • hell of a guitarist!! a chip off the old block

  • This just makes me sooooo happy!

  • Who cares that he was 'only 18' when he made this. There are lots of superb musicians that have been as young as that when they started. This is awful and completely derivative. The solo os OK but sounds like 4 separate exercises rather than anything musical. I have no idea why people stand by this stuff, who cares.

  • @steve3PO Lol this is what the 80s sounded like

  • what a great guitarist, not too keen on moons voice, but it kicks the living shit out of everything on the radio today.

  • Still awesome.

Guy had more talent at 18 than most of us ever have.

    Just a great song.

  • Gotta love active pickups !!!

  • PS Does Moon look like she could have been sisters with Linda Kozlowski from "Crocodile Dundee"? They have the same eyes and some similar facial features.

  • God, the memories this brings back! Moon Unit was SO adorable and I was really in love with her. Dweezil's playing was so crisp and clean and although he wasn't as popular as he deserved to be, his tone and chops here really define 80's pop/hard rock. Did I mention that I was totally in love with Moon?? Thank you for uploading this gem, SCHLEUFER.

  • I want a yacht, where is that FN video?

  • @bgatesdie I don't think they ever did a video for 'I want a Yacht'. Would have been funny to see Bobcat in one though.

  • @QtommyQ "Ninety feet long with a ten man crew." One of my all time lizeewD songs. :-)

  • why is Robert Wagner in all of Dweezil's videos? Kinda cool.

  • @comedian618

I vaguely remember an interview from back then, I think he was dating his daughter at the time.

  • When I was a kid me and my brother thought this was cool just because her name was Moon Unit... while we were stuck with boring "normal" names.

  • I was just a kid, just picking up the guitar when this came out, and I loved it! I didn't even realize that was Frank reading the paper. I ripped off so many licks from this song, and still use them unconsciously today... Thanks for this.

  • 2:27 Daphne Zuniga! And great song...

  • i love moon unit wonder what she doing these days

  • I thought the woman singing was Robert Wagner's daughter. That would make sense since what other reason would Robert Wagner be in this video?

  • i love the lead on this song. d. zappa is cool!

  • MOON ZAPPA!!! DAMN!!!

  • charvel guitars!!!!!

  • Wow, a lotta tags on a relatively unknown song.

Naysayers aside, a guitar player's dream video with up close and personal fretwork.

Terrific solo and a shoulda been hit song.

  • I think I'm in love. Mooooooooon!

  • I like this song and Moon is hot in this Video. Dweezil is on tour doing Zappa on Zappa.

  • Annoying song but I like Dweezil.

  • where can i find a download of this song?

  • which one is "moon unit"?

  • @dirtwbag moon is the girl

  • Great Riff! Great Voice!

  • how did Frank have such attractive kids? :P

  • Comment removed

  • lol dweezle halen

  • i honestly think this song is alright but not with the singer,,

  • dweezil rocks , anybody remember the madonna guitar, loved that guitar,

  • I just bought a USA Charvel San Dimas off of E-Bay that looks a hell of a lot like Dweezil's guitar! When I was 16 and watching him VJ on MTV with his sister, I thought that guitar was the coolest thing I had ever seen, even cooler than Eddie Van Halen's guitar. I'll have to learn this song when it gets here.

As a side note, girls should still dress like Moon. The granny dress with Doc Marten's equals SEXY!

  • Who was the guy sitting next to FZ?

  • @dharmaseed That's Robert Wagner, "Number 2" in the first "Austin Powers" movie (but probably still playing Jonathan on TV in "Hart to Hart" when this was filmed). Man, I had a crush on Dweezil back then that was disturbing LOL

  • @Rox1SMF Wow, thanks! That wouldn't be Markie Post standing at the table eating, would it?

  • @dharmaseed It sure does look like her, and would make sense, since she was so popular then!

  • @dharmaseed your kidding right? lol...

  • @CosmikDebrisFZ No, I really have no idea who it is, although she looks very familiar.

  • @dharmaseed It's Robert Wagner... :~)

  • @CosmikDebrisFZ Right...somebody had already told me that! I was wondering who the lady at the table was?

  • @dharmaseed Hanoi Jane

  • @dharmaseed Jane Fonda:)

  • Genius moon and dweezil fresh fro camping in the Louire valley.Cool! Very Cool!! Mega Cool!!! etc.

  • The MINUTE I heard teh voice...I though...90's lawl.

  • why some people complain about the vocals? I like it

  • @OsamaBeenFartin oh... lol still with Vai in side bar though.

  • God I love 80's music.

  • What album is this? I remember the "My guitar wants to kill your mamma" album. Is this on it?

  • @jojokerus Album is Havin a bad day. That song is not on there though. It's on his 1988 album "My guitar Wants to kill your mama"

  • Thanks for posting this...I loved this album-liked his playing. 80's rock was the best!

  • i like frank zappa he`s one of a kind but my accountname says it all

  • @SCHLEUFER well i liked tha guitarplaying. its was ok but the vocals just sucks actually

  • @eddiehalenvan FAIR RESPONSE! I've deleted my comment on yours, and all is good. Moon wasn't known much for singing but she did what she could on this one....

  • Dweezil rocks the shit out of that guitar.

  • I liked it when it came out. It's no secret that Dweezil was an Eddie Van Halen Fan and they had plenty of opportunity to get songs like this on the air. Don't forget that Moon-Unit was the voice of Valley Girl!! It was pure 80's!! Nothing artsy fartsy about it!

  • this sucked tons of horsecock

  • @MrHugefaggot With an online name like that, I'm sure people all over the youtube world take your opinion seriously.

  • does anyone know if dweezil ever played this and other songs from this record live? does anyone have this song and anothers tabbed out? I got some of the song down (i think) but cant get other parts if anyone has any tabs or has a better ear ( which in my case is just about everyone) please tab out in guitar pro or power tab and post some where please. i search every now and then and never find anything. I wish dweezil would go on tour and play his early stuff live!

  • they played with ernie ball :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • god it sucked.

  • I like this song and think the guitar playing is really good.

  • nice guitar!! cool song too. and for everyone talking shit about this music weren't probably even born yet and should have no say what so ever.

  • if dwezill is so talentless, then y is battleling steve vai in the side bar? and it looks to me like thats vai @ 2:32 in this vid here. so basically what im saying is..... STFU! lol

  • @jairocastanedagomez ....2:32....That's not Steve Vai..That was Charlie Sexton. He had a minor hit in the mid to late 80's. I think the song was "Beat so lonely" He didn't go far.

  • Dweezel and Moon Unit should persue thier own direction, this is better than Zappa playa Zappa.

When you children of a famous rocks, its hard to get out of thier shell (thier parents).

    Moons a good singer,

  • this actually is good stuff - have to under stand zappa

  • @rocket625 agree, for those that don't get. look at frank's facial reactions when you can see his face.

  • ewe

  • before writin' he sucks as a musician, imagine yourself at age of 18, being the son of one of the most important musician anf the late XX century, trying not to produce stuff too similar to your dad's work. Anyway, nowadays he doesn't pretend to be considered a great composer just because he's frank's son, and he's a great guitar player.

  • I feel sorry from Frank, his son sucks as a artist.

  • @cilebehind: Dweezil was playing like this when you were five years old. No one has ever heard of you before, so tell us--what have you done? Thought so.

  • @SCHLEUFER Too bloody right!!!

  • @SCHLEUFER

your logic behind why that kid cant criticize this song's guitar playing is so incredibly broken that i find it amusing.

  • @buried2 so you think my logic about a kid criticizing the technique of an event that occurred before his birth is amusing? No doubt you are amused by your spit-bubbles and the smell of your finger too. BYE!

  • @SCHLEUFER

the next time you see a movie and think it sucks, stop. you aren't in the film industry and never will be, therefore your opinion does not matter.

    oh wait, that seems retarded.

    so do you.

  • @SCHLEUFER omg what's wrong with u dude? doesn't matter what you've done, you're allowed to criticize anyone you want to, clean out the sand from your vagina and learn to behave.

  • @SCHLEUFER What he has or hasn't achieved in music is irrelevant to the fact that he doesn't like Dweezil's songs. I mean.. This is my era, and my style of music, and I have to admit this is a pretty bad song in spite of the soulful guitar work.

  • @cilebehind whoever said that zappa was good in the first place?

to be honest his son is probably a better guitarist and songwriter than him,

  • @shenmue4life - Wow, how stupid is that comment?

  • @cilebehind watch?v=oH1ybin4ZEU

  • @cilebehind You may be an online troll, but you are an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • even frank is like, shut the fuck up bitch, look at him at 39 seconds in

  • @shenmue4life yeah, seems likely considering she's his daughter

  • dweezil zappa is a great guitarist even thought its not evident in this, hahahaha

  • Dude!!!!!! This totally inspired me when I was a kid

  • When I was 15 I thought that was the coolest looking guitar I had ever seen.

  • I love how Frank plays the random sketchy-looking newspaper guy, great cameo! Nice guitar solo too by the way!

  • awesome. :D

  • Sorry Dweezil, this song is so,,,,ummmmm Dweezilly!

  • shitty song

  • This is quite cheesy, but how I'd love to be a Zappa kid. Imma call my kid Dweezil

  • man this video is sick :D

  • That's funny, I thougt when this came out when I was a kid, it was under Moon Unit's name

she should at least be mentioned in the title here

  • I LOVE this campy, fun song!!!!!!

  • I like this song...even though I can sing tons better than Moon Zappa, they had the coolest father...and Dweezil, OMG, hello?????????????

  • better video here

    zappa.com/stufftoget/video/letstalkaboutit.html

  • I wish I can find this to download..love the video too

  • That green guitar looks EPIC! What is it, Charvel, Jackson......???

  • Chad Wackerman/Scott Thunes rhythm section.

  • i look like him when i have my hair like that out of the shower.lol.. ^_^

  • Okay...Frank Zappa, Robert Wagner, Daphne Zuniga, Charlie Sexton, and I know that blond from the snack table but can't remember her name. Wish this vid was in hd, thought I saw Gene Simmons, too, but maybe not. Anyone know any others in this video?
