What a great video - you brought back some tremendous memories, thank you very much. I have loved the band and all of their music - if you think at the same time Duran Duran were on the front of a yacht in pastel suits, Arthur and Stephen at the front of a fishing trawler - says it all. I know which I preferred. Delighted to see that Blancmange back in the studio with a new album out Mar 11 and a tour to follow - will be going to see them in London. Thanks again - great post.
Absolutely fantastic. WHY AREN"T THESE GUYS ON iTUNES???
(Well at least in the US store, there isn't any Blancmange.)

I couldn't agree more. Last year I went on itunes to get some Blancmange and was SO disappointed they were not there. I keep checking every month in hopes they show up.
Great song from the 80's It was a time of experiments and moving music. I live in the states and it took me a while to find the LP as an import. Cost more than 40 Itunes songs for sure. Thanx

Bloody Hell !! I always assumed Blancmange did " Living on the Ceiling " and " Don't tell Me " and then disappeared . How did I go all these years without this EPIC song ? I'm not too far off being 50 now and new tunes grow on me slowly normally - probably ' cos I haven't bought any new stuff since the 90's and then it was an 80's tune lol. But this is sooo good I've already played it 8 times and I only just discovered it half an hour ago . Many thanks Jim for posting :) Mega Thumbs Up !
Just letting you know that i've embedded this video on my music blog so if its an issue contact me :) Good song this, pity the majority only know of blancmange's living on the ceiling

waves, i suffer from tremendous waves. This song comes close to explaining it all, but not not nearly enough. Sunday tomorrow, i expect the waves to peak out of control. In a nutshell - waves.
Yeah - the underground clubs in San Francisco where we would dance all night then go somewhere on Chestnut or the Mission & eat breakfast. Wonderful times. amazing track. Love it - thanks.
Yeah! I was there. You're thinking of the DNA lounge, perhaps? That's where I first heard Living on the Ceiling, by Blancmange. Wonder if we'd recognize one another!
Waves, then goodbye I live in a wafer thin dream I, I can cry You know that time, time's not kind But I remember the way we were Slow, slow sad love I wonder do you miss my love I know you can't It's just a wave passing over me What are these waves? They're coming over me It must be my destiny Waves, coming by Goodbye, goodbye
thanks for posting - takes me (way) back. I reckon this group was underrated better than a lot of the other synth groups around in the UK at that time. This song always makes me feel a little sad though..
these guys WEAVED MAGIC! awesome, awesome, awesome!!! takes me back to when i was in my late teens. made me feel weird watching the vids which i had seen all those years ago on tv. kinda made me wanna top it - do myself in! it was a magical time in my life. where has this flavor of magic gone. makes me happy/sad!
anyway... it has encouraged me to do a song and keep up my own magic :-) so thatz good news... thanks guys = Neil Arthur and Stephen Luscombe! your music lives inside me :-)
i just sent this out to a friend that i'm schooling on the 80's. also the associates "breakfast", ABC "all of my heart" and the art of noise "moment's in love". truly a remarkable time in pop music history. i was a new romantic, here in florida if you can imagine. they called me boy chris(gulp). i remember getting beer bottles being thrown at me by spring breakers as i rode my 10 speed bike, panty hose "dreadlocks" blowing in the wind, as i made my way to the "new wave lounge" in ft. lauderdale!
I know this video very well, even though this is the first time I've seen it since 1983 when i was 15. I've never forgotten it and I still have my copy of the 45rpm record. The song never failed to send pleasant chills up my spine and it stil does. Bravo to the finder of this video and thank you.
but i can see what you mean..point is,i "re-/discovered" this song(plus the visual bit) on youtube after 25(?) years only a few moons ago and since then i´ve watched it about 25(?) times,so maybe i was a bit too much staring at the monitor that night;)
53 and there's NOTHING like the 80's music. LOVE IT FOREVER!

thanks for posting - takes me (way) back.

Hmm,a swell doesn´make a vid;)
but i can see what you mean..point is,i "re-/discovered" this song(plus the visual bit) on youtube after 25(?) years only a few moons ago and since then i´ve watched it about 25(?) times,so maybe i was a bit too much staring at the monitor that night;)
