Yup, Condor Joe died at the end of Gatchaman and is replaced on the team by Taka (Hawk) Getz. And yet Joe is in the credits... ;) Watch GII if you ever get the chance to see how that happens! The only hint I'll give you is that they didn't 'cheat' with Joe, he's been through some real, permanent changes with ramifications that pay off throughout the series. A shame that the 3rd series, Gatchaman Fighter, isn't half as good as GII, IMO.

Yup, it's Isao Sasaki, who also sang the "JAKQ" opening. (He was also the voice actor for Joe in all three "Gatchaman" series.)

No te preocupes que en Puerto Rico pasó igual, nunca pasaron de la primera serie. Creo que únicamente en Japón la pasaron completa (obvio por ser el país de origen)...pero en DVD se consiguen las 3 series completas subtituladas en Inglés ( y creo que en Español también/subtitulos)

want to laugh when I first found out their real names I was under the impression because we changed their names in the american version I was thinking their names must be impossible to pronounce.. So as I read off their names I was like "ken oh *razz* what a surprise.. Jun oh thats sounds like June wait.. Then Joe.. Wait a sec" I remember thinking to myself heck they could have used their original names half the cast sounded like american names! I love this cartoon

Thank you for posting. I grew up with Battle of The Planets, and when I finally saw Gatchaman, I could see just how much had to be cut for USA audiences. Never saw the Gatchaman II intro til now ;)

Yes it is.. And it paved the way for most the anime cartoons..

The 5 man team all working together to form something bigger.. (sound familiar) Stronger fighting as a group each having there way of doing something for the team or fight.. A lot of the cartoons after Gatchaman followed in their footsteps
