  • i love ABB to death, but i think butch is listening to some Skynyrd in that headset.

  • Gregg's voice is awesome...I was lucky enough to get an advanced release of a song...and it is sweet! I can't wait to hear how he does the old Muddy Waters tune...

I just can't be satisfied. I have yet in my 45 yrs to find a song he sings that isn't sweet and soulful!

  • Bodies wither & pass but the soul of this band will live forever

  • What a solo!

  • Greg's voice is always evolving. There are things He can't do anymore that I liked when he was young, but he's got this rasp and a recessed belt that only his years of pain and his experience singing can bring about. also, I'm sure whiskey plays it's role . . .

  • Warren Hayes=the John Tesh of Southern Blues rock. What a joke.

  • I'm 52, and am an old Allman Vet......I was always convinced that Duane was the best slide guitarist, of all time. (And still am).....But I must admit, the more I listen to Derek, the more I think he is at least right up there with Duane....His style is every bit as smooth as Duane's....Sweet Sounds!....I'm sure it didn't hurt growing up around these guys, all his life.

  • Dickey Betts brought soul to the band.

Any technical player could bring what Derek brings. MR. Stone Face needs some soul.

  • Opinions are like armpits, everyone's got a couple. Dickey had his moments - 40 years ago and not many since - in my opinion. He had his fans, but let's face it - the band fired him - what does that tell you?

  • @geezerbutlerbass haha he is pretty stoic isn't he? but he really gives it all. if his face bothers you, just listen to the audio. Duane brought a whole lot more soul to the band than Dickey ever did, and Derek brings quite a lot to the table. I can't name another slide player alive that are as talented or suitable as Derek.

  • @brucefan181 I can! Warren Haynes! but my favorite by far is hearing him AND Derek...magic!

  • @cheezer57 I think you summed up Duane and Derek perfectly:)

As Bill Graham said at the closing of the Fillmore The Allman Brothers=The best band in the land.

  • @cheezer57 he's duane allman reincarnated.

  • @cheezer57 channelin' Inspired!

  • thanks for your opinions ... and my mouth is happy to see what you guys are having a. In the November concerts Allman Brothers Band

many times he played Do not Keep Me wondering - and each time I flew chills down my back - really

Derek, of course, plays beautifully, and Warren?

    I'm staring at him.

  • Derek Trucks is fucking amazing!!

  • Does anyone have a tab or know how to play the rhythm guitar part to this song?? It would be very helpful, all I can really find are the general chords but warren's obviously doing more than just strumming chords.

  • i believe this song is in the key of G. The rythm part you hear Warren playing...the doink doink sound is basically him going back and forth between F and G...Its pretty simple. Just watch the video and see what hes playin

  • Actually, the three original members are Greg Allman (on keys and occasional guitar), with Butch Trucks & Jaimoe Johanson on drums. Guitarist Warren Haynes and master percussionist Marc Quinones joined the band in 1989, so this is their 20th year with the ABB. Oteil Burbridge has been on bass for 11 (?) years and Derek Trucks has been playing with them on & off since he was 12. If you can get to one of their shows, just GO!

  • It's the best live music around today.

  • derek became an official member in either 1999 or 2000

  • I love the Filmore East version from '70 but I must admit that this one is hot!

  • I am new to the Allman bros and luvin it!

Anyone want to tell me who is who in all these vids? or do i have to stop the music and do a google....

  • Yes Greg Allman One of the Original Members on Keyboards and vocals.Original Member Butch trucks on Drums//His nephew Derek Trucks the younger long blond dude on guitar..He's a bad ass..hes young and was bred the allmans all his life. Warren Haynes is the other guitarist who plays some slide..Oteil Burbridge is the bass player.Jaimoe Johanson, Marc Quiñones fill in on keys and drums.

  • Derek is a master in building solo's!

  • That looks like Jai-Johanney and Butch on drums as usual, but it appears they have a third drummer here and the guy seems to be playing both congas (which they have in all their music) and regular drums. What's up? Is the 3rd drummer still playing in their band?

  • Chapeau bas, panowie i panie! Wspaniałe slajdowe solo!!!

  • wow

  • Wow. Stunning. Lost track of ABB for about the last 15 years or so. I'd forgotten about the power of pure music and talent. Derek and Warren are a tapestry of perfect complements. Both are different but the synergy of both is far beyond their parts. Great spirit. The power of a clean pure sound Gibson sound. Wow!

  • haynes and trucks compliment eachother really well. I've seen both Mule and derek trucks band, and I have to say that both are masters in their own rights. trucks is a very powerful guitarist who is a lot more lick based, while haynes comes up from behind with subtle phrasing so that by the end of his solo you see where he's going. two of the best guitarists of all time

  • Haynes has a good voice

  • sorry Warren is good but he's no Derek Trucks

  • i love it when gregg starts smilin durin a trucks solo in his head hes probably like "how much talent can on kid have one guitar?!" haha.

  • i think he reminds him of his big bro. they do have some similarities, derek definetely emilates him.... peace brother

  • Gregg's voice isn't nearly what it used to be, but these guys have to be the greatest American rock band thus far.

  • @jwm1976 No matter what you think of him now, hes still better than most of the wannabe singers today. Personally, I thought "Midnight Rider" from this concert was one the best vocal performances he ever gave.

  • Just think...One day soon, Derek will land a Burst..a 59, and it will be all over but the shoutin' and carryin on..

  • well said, warren is a master but I agree, theres something about anyone playing slide next to derek that just dwarfs them.

  • I'm glad Derek is playing slide on this version. It sort of bugs me when Warren plays lead slide on: Statesboro Blues, One Way Out, Dont Keep Me Wondering. His broad vibrato on slide makes the tunes sound kind of sloppy. Derek, on the other hand, has a really tight vibrato. Apart from having a great ear, thats why his intonation is always perfect, even when he's sliding between large intervals. 3:05-3:12 is a great example.

  • You gotta remember warren make it hard on himself. He play in standard tunning with what ever guitar he got on hand. He played on both an LP and that ES-335, normally and with a slide. Unless hes got high action, it will probably be hard for his slide playing not to sound a bit sloppy. I still enjoy it though.

  • thanks for the post... love the ABB

  • :- )

  • Yeah this is good

  • kooool thanx
