No point shooting a DSR-1 at 100m. A reasonable shooter will get only one hole. But, if that's the range you have then that's it. In Australia we are cursed with 30 million feral pigs. When it's dry, pigs need to come to waterholes. So a picnic 1200m away can be a fun day, though the pigs don't enjoy it much. If you know the range & wind you should get close to 100% kill rate. Can shoot out to 2K but you need to be very good & no wind. Rifle AU$18,500. S&B 5-26x56 AU$4800. Good investment.

@stubenwurm Och das DSR1 bekommt man in Deutschland auch, mit dem DSR .50 könnte es leichte Schwierigkeiten geben, weil es keine vernünftige Begründung für den Besitz gibt (man muss ja ein Bedürtftnis anmelden um einen Eintrag in die WBK zu bekommen), aber die anderen Kaliber sind in der Regel kein Problem, es wird nur unsportlich, weil das DSR generell bei 300 Metern schon maßlos unterfordert ist und längere Schießbahnen sind rar in Deutschland ;-)

@1337fraggzb00N auch mit dem dsr in .50bmg hast du keine probleme in deutschland! es gibt dafür sowohl sportliche disziplinen als auch die jagdliche nutzung kein problem darstellt (munikosten und gefährdung des rückraumes mal mal außen vor) ich das dsr in .338lapua schon ion der hand gehabt da ein freund von mir mit den dingern handelt, allerdings kümmert er sich grade um die firma desert tactical arms.

ich bezog mich auch eher auf die generell beschissene lage für waffenbesitzer in deutschland!

@stubenwurm In Baden Württemberg habe ich da gewissse Probleme einen Schießstand zu finden, da wird gerade alles dicht gemacht... Da muss ich Dir zustimmen, die Lage für Sportschützen, bzw. Waffenbesitzer allgemein ist in Deutschland einfach nur lächerlich und es wird vermutlich noch schlechter. Was soll der Blödsinn mit den Einhandmessern ? Wenn jemand eine Straftat begehen will hält er sich eh nichts an das Gesetz und normale Bürger haben bald keinen Überblick mehr im Gesetzdschungel.

@dontmakemeMAD1990 I've had cockup's because of the Ammo/Gun match wasn't right, It wasn't clean, The weather. And for example. I am terrible with the SVD. I just don't like the feel of it. But it's still a good gun. I rock with a R700 with a McMillan stock. But suck with the factory one. It can be from a variety of things. Often people who suck try to blame the equipment.

The DSR is an amazing gun. As is the R700, Savage 12, PSG-1, WA2000 etc. It's all about personal choice.
