  • Does someone know how I can get a CD recording of Blondel?

  • This video clip was taken from the company archive filming of the show, so whilst it exists (as it does for most shows), the whole thing was never released publicly, As far as cast recordings go, the 1970s one is the only one that was issued, although you probably need to hunt around eBay for a copy of it on CD.

  • I would suggest getting a sound ripper from the net. Coverting the other file from the dress rehearsal on YouTube of the while show. It will be in one big MP3 file but better than nothing

  • I'm trying to acquire a copy from somewhere too. If you find one please post details on here.

  • Can anyone suggest where I could get a hold of a cast recording CD/download?

  • I love the old LP of the 1970s original cast - even without images the story is vividly painted by the words - it's fabulous!

  • Auditioned for this show years ago, offered the part of King John. Sadly, the production never went ahead. Very overlooked musical by Stephen Oliver and Tim Rice with a wonderful message. Running Back For More is one of my favourite songs fom the musical.

  • Was this televised? Or is there a DVD of it? Because I notice at the end that black screen comes up saying "Act 2"?

  • Wow. I saw this in the eighties in Manchester . I loved it but it got panned by the critics and didn't last long. This is a beautiful song tho

  • Brilliant show, can't believe I have found something from the show, absolutely loved it, Paul Nicholas was superb

  • I saw this musical in London in 1983 or 1984 durring my High School senior trip.

I loved the show and bought the soundtrack. Unfortunatly, it was a casset, and has long since died. Can you post anymore of the songs? I can't find them anywhere!!

  • The cleverest song is Economic Acrostic, in which the first letters of each line spell MARGARET THATCHER.

I have the original album, but I've never seen Blondel, though I'd like to, as some of the puns in Tim Rice's lyrics are quite excruciating!

This clip suggests that the backing vocals are far too prominent.

The original ASS-ASS-IN was played by ..... Chris Langham.

  • abi is fantastic n i was lucky enuf to go see this, i love this song! Just wish i could sing along without ruining it. lol

  • Listen to Elaine Paige sing this song. So much better.

  • @Julybabie4 Does she have a version on youtube??

  • wow her voice has improved so much since maria...beautiful xx

  • abis amazing.

  • been trying to find a copy of this everywhere

  • More? Possibly? Please!

  • she sounds even better here than she did on how do you solve a problem like maria!

  • brings back fond memories of Blondel and Miss Abi Finley :D the blondettes did ruining it slightly though

  • pleeeeeez put more up

    Thanks very much

  • ABI ROCKS... shes even better in the current tour of FAME... go see it every1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Please put up more!

  • oh yeah the assassins song would be great!

I saw an amateur revival a few years ago which was great, although i have to say they chose not to have backing singers for this song and it worked alot better and was quite moving.

  • Dear god, please post the whole thing! Please!

  • Not to show my age or anything but I remember the Original production in 1984!! It didn't get much respect, didn't run nearly long enough but had a group of very devoted fans. Lovely to see that it was revived. I hope it was successful (I am in the US now and out of touch with current London theatre).

    Anyway, thanks for this.

  • yes PLEASE more videos..the assassin song...no rhyme for richard

    any of it

i need to see it again.

  • ouch, some really dodgy notes from the backing girls!

  • I'd run back for more videos from this production! Where are they?! :>

I've always loved this musical and am happy to have seen it with the original cast, not once but twice.

Please put up some of the more cheesy songs, if you've got them-- like "No Rhyme for Richard" or "The Assassin Song."

    Thanks!!!

  • Wow, thanks for that, i think the sound of music production missed out on abi

  • Fabulous! It was amazing to see it last night! Thank you for putting this up.

  • yay, something to remember blondel by, thanks for posting!!

  • Thank you loads! Amazing!!!
