i watched the original trilogy recently without stopping and the movies are so powerful, and i was balling my eyes out regardless of the fact that ive seen it a billion times. these are more than just movies; they're organic life-teaching stories and to see Luke just being tortured like that (i know it was fake and all, but the acting was superb...like beyond superb) just had me balling my eyes out....right after Emperor says "You will die" i was like dude no more no more man come on HOLY SHIT

I keep thinking back to Episode III, because what happens in Return of the Jedi is a full-circle of everything that went down in Revenge of the Sith. Yoda warned Palpatine that his faith in Vader was misplaced, as was his faith in the dark side; its also a pay off to what Padme said: there was still good in him (Anakin). What happens in ROJ proves them both exactly right - Yoda because Vader is a ruined man in a suit, and Padme because Anakin renounces the dark side and saves their son's life.
