  • Beautiful car dude. 69 Firebirds are my favorite Muscle Car. I had one when I was younger and made the mistake of selling it. I just bought its replacement and can't wait to start the rebuild.

  • How can anyone not love the sound of a throaty american v8? Graet job man, may the classics live on forever so tomorows childern can hear, feel, and live what started it all.

  • I'm not going to lie, I almost cried a little bit. My mom bought a '69 350 brand new when she graduated high school and my dad crashed it in the '75 but bought it back right after getting the check for totallying it. Now I'm 20 and since I was 8 my dad and I have been restoring. We even finished it (enough) in time for me to drive it to my graduation.

    Hope this helps you

    Bill

  • Good looking car! I'm buying a Firebird, but can't decide on a 68 or 69! Love both shapes. Help!!!

  • 69's are my favorite I have a 67 also on youtube check it out but the 69's have bolder body lines and are a little wider than the 67-68.

    Thansk Hope this help's

    Bill

  • Man I have a 68' and I'm jelous of the side body design. But 67-68's are badass too, I just like the sides better on 69. And only one year!

  • wow, fixed it up good

  • Nice work

  • nice work.

  • Whats the story behind the bird : ) heh...i think it might be simular to mine ^^

    Andrew

  • my dad has a 69 fire bird me and him are just finshing it now its going to be so bad ass

  • Great Vid!

  • What color should I paint mine? black looks pretty good. ,but what looks the best?

  • Light baby blue.

me and my dad restoreed a graveyard 69 and painted it just like this one in the video.

  • The body would have to be flawless to paint it black and have it look decent.

  • nice bird. All I have to say is CALI.

  • Nice work, nice car.

I won't comment on trying to pull the front end while the car was still on the trailer.

  • Nice car. Wish I had a blue Bird like that.

  • Damn,is it finished completely yet! Good job. I have a 69 400 that has been sitting since my dad past in 90' that I am about to start have restored as a cloned trans-am. Thats what he wanted to do...so it's my job to finish it for him, well for us. :)

  • Good job on the car glad you saved it and even though it is not finished it awsome!! Happy motoring

  • Dude wut song is this?

I heard part of it when Queen was on Vh1 Rock Honors but they never gave the name.

  • spread your wings /news of the world

  • Thanx.BTW I absolutely love that Firebird.

I saw an Orange one like it in a local parade the other day.And what I would give for one of them. They're freakkin awesome.

  • dude very nice car i got a 69 firebird too but i really want the color you have on yours can you tell me what it is?

  • VERY NICE Bird!

    You dad taught you well.

  • that car runs smooth

    I like it.

  • Great job

  • what was the original color? It looks like a silvery blue of some sort? I like it

  • Not sure it was yellow before the blue. I think it might have been green. I hope to have it repainted soon so it's all one color again..

    Thanx Bill

  • I also have a 69' Firebird Trans Am(clone). I installed a 94'LT1/4L60e in it. I have finally got it running & driving! I love the stance that yours has. What kind of suspension does your bird have? 2" front lowering springs etc..? And what brand & size of wheels/tires are those? Torque Thrust 2's or? Was there any mods needed to make that setup work for that stance?

  • The rims are 17" boyd's with a full hotchkis lowering suspension kit. The front also has ball joint relocators that help with the alignment of the front and keep the wheels flat in turns not as much leaning. I will try to add a video of the front end and wheel size and post to you tube.

    Thnx Bill

  • Top job, keep her on the road where she belongs!

  • Nice job guys and I love the tribute to your dad at the end, I always wished my dad had taught me a thing or two about working on cars, I went to school to be a motorcycle mechanic, but I always wanted to restore cars from the ground up. I sold my 69 bird two years ago, I wish I had it back. Again I love what you did with the car, keep up the good work. Keep showing your vids on youtube.

  • Amazing work ! Great job. Im in the process of restoring my 69 Firebird 350 matching numbers. Your work is a great inspiration for my restoration project on my bird.

  • Thanks, Good luck with your bird! I have extra parts for sale you can go to the 1st generation firebird site to find parts and get advise.

    Thanks Bill S.

  • Man it looks like we are gonna have close to matching cars in Cali!! I am officially inspired! I'll use different wheels but your paint and stance is off the chain. hope to see you at some meets.

  • It might be gone,I told a guy 20g's and he's gotta have it! Well I will have a convertable done the same way done soon!

  • sweet

  • Are you planning to paint the hood and fender the same color as the rest of the car? It is really beautiful. has the car been lowered? Thanks for posting it.

  • Yes, The car will be done in the blue, it has been lowered, but it was done by the previous owner who wrecked it! Thnx for looking Bill

  • It looks like you have a base/clear combination. How many layers of clear? The body is very straight. Any idea how the front end was lowered? was it done by cutting the coils a bit? IMO, the stance, the chrome and wheels are is the way it should have been built originally.

  • Yes it is a 2 stage paint. The front was lowered using lowering springs and balljoint relocators, I had to put 2 1 inch spacers to get the car to clear speed bumps. the wheels are after market, the stance is one of it's own and all the chrome is original.

  • dude your car is awesome!
