actually annspetersen, the men who did these acts were sentenced to prison. also, this guy who wrote this book, is not actually an interrogator, because if he leaked ANY information, both secret and nonsecret, he would have been exicuted for treason. trust me, i know a few MI's, and he's not one of them. he's full of bullshit, and those few that he IS right about, were inprisoned. it was on CNN durring the first year in iraq.

I don't know how any professed Christian in the USA could condone this behaviour. If Jesus was walking the earth today, he would stride into the oval office and turn over our president's desk. I think George Bush made the wrong choice during his 40 days in the wilderness.

There was a recent study of US soldiers that showed how extensive their justification was for not only torture but also outright tyranny over civilian Iraqis. The majority of soldiers agreed that it was acceptable to murder Iraqis for such reasons as to relieve stress or believing all Iraqis are conspiring against them.

It's sad that so many Americans could watch this entire video and still justify or explain away the horrific things our military has done over there. All because a few people in Washington wanted war with Iraq, and have a racist view of all Arabs (which includes Iran - almost nobody here knows the difference.)

me neither. this seems like a determined effort to break the will of the people. I cannot see how Rumsfeld was allowed to get away with authorising the use of waterboarding. hopefully one day he and Cheney will be on trial for war crimes. I didnt realise that the problem was systemic in most prison facilities in Iraq, I thought it was mostly confined to Abu Ghraib. Then again, i believed the 'bad apples' theory before i read a little more

I really don't think the intention behind torture is to gather information. I think it's to instill fear.

yes, its true, but those who want to instill fear are proving themselves as scumbags, that is the point. Would you allow someone who thinks that way run the world? Clenching on to power with fear? Pretty cheap I must say... especially after so much invested into "peace keeping", "nation building"... but it reflects cowardice, fear itself, chaos, stupidity and a very serious lack of human value and consideration.
