It's fascinating to me to see on YouTube how many non-American singers and performers got on American TV shows. You can find a lot of their original appearances in their various native countries, and then, surprisingly, they also show up on the Ed Sullivan show, or (as here) with Dinah Shore, or other variety programs in the USA.
what a great video, after half a century, finally the Chinese around the world could see this beautiful clip whereby Grace was out there to woo the western audience in a very "chinoi" way.
Yes indeed, Grace was one of the actresses that looked really good in tehcnicolours.The colours could bring out her gaiety and personality.I am wondering is there a chance for you to "dig out" the clips of Shirley Yamaguchi's guest appearance in Ed Sullivan TV show.If you could, thousands of Yamaguchi's fans would be so elated and thankful (I am one of them,haha)
I didn't about Shirley Yamaguchi's appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. I did a quick search of my usual sources but couldn't find anything. I'll keep on the lookout, though.
It seems she sang two songs: "We Kiss in Shadow" and "Cha Cha, Cio Cio San". Wow... I'd love to see that last one especially!
Thanks Durian, if i am not mistaken, Shirley hasn't only appeared once but twice in Ed's show.Her marriage to Isamu Noguchi has remained much of a mystery,even in Noguchi's biography, this part was greatly missed out.
