  • I did notice a QT- and some numbers

displayed when it's loading. How are some websites able to load or buffer an hour of data without it having to load or load too long? How any minutes or MB was your video?

  • Hi. Thanks for the awesome tutorial. I did everything in the video except the QuickTime conversion process which I will do next. All I get is a black box without a play button on my iPhone 4 when trying to connect. When I do it via web Safari, it works just fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. John.

  • @tekjohn7 if its black with a playbutton, then chances are you video is just taking a long time to load. iPhone will pop up "video is unplayable" if the conversion is wrong.

  • how can convert a normal html to html 5 i need help plz replay

  • @malikshahbaz100 that question doesn't make sense. Sorry bud!

  • @optikalefxx oh im sorry cuz of the stupid iphone corection thing so im soory wat i was sayin i have a website and i have a live streming channel in it and i have the embed of tht video wat i want is " make an html5 of the simple html so i can put in my mobile website so people can watch from there mobile divices " thts wat i need help in so plz replay :)

  • how do u open the surce plz help

  • GET.;`A.`,FREE``;DROID':'PHONE,';

  • @AldisJarvis how do you wrote that bold text?? pls reply

  • @those1kidds Thanks! I have an endoder app i made that works on linux and mac, and doesnt' require any apple anything to encode all html5 formats. Ill be releasing it pretty soon.

  • OK, so can anyone tell me how I can use html5 's video tag to play the video right on the browser screen rather than the video having to play on the iphone's quicktime player?

  • @Nexstarcrazyness the iPad will do that - i don't think the iPhone can. And if it does - try setting the controls to false.

  • thanks for this. i was wondering why my html5 video wasn't playiing on the iphone. it was encoded in H.whatever but wasn't playing, so i used quicktime to do it according to your settings and it works now. thanks.

  • Your a genius !!!

  • Easy conversion for iphone/ipad/ipod:

-add the video to iTunes' 9 or better Movies library

    -select it

-wipe the sweat off your forehead

-click "Advanced" top dropdown menu item

-choose between "Create iPod or iPhone version" and "Create iPad or AppleTv version"

    -enjoy it :p

  • nice one.. ! great tutorial .. cheees :)

  • Wasn't video integrated onto a page supported in HTML4? One of HTML5's goals was to give video controls in a similar to way that flash delivers.

  • @projectf90 there was no video tag in html4. You were able to embed video using object tags or embed tags but there was no standard for how that was handled.

  • @optikalefxx That's right, it just didn't appear that way because firefox, netscape, opera and IE supported embedded video.

Also, is it just me or does anyone else notice a performance difference with the HTML5 videos on youtube?

  • @projectf90 the html5 versions of the videos on here are much higher quality. Therefore they get stuck more often on slower connections. The bit rates for 1080p video is like 10mpbs which is ridiculous quality.

  • @optikalefxx At least when I'm standard 360p video my browser (Mac Safari) seems to crash less often and the computer doesn't feel as sluggish.

HTML5 is still in the experimental stage, but improving quickly

  • @projectf90 well ever since apple and adobe starte fighting my flash videos have been crashing more and more. hmmm

  • yes of course but many videos are in flv.

  • Awesome this video works on my iPod touch w/o using the YouTube App!!!

  • Correction: its amazing how everything works except HTML5 YouTube Vids....

Well... There's an App for That.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrsMariahVids Are you spamming my page? Seriously.. GTFO

  • In HTML you can NOT close tags such as IMG, VIDEO, SOURCE etc... You are mixing HTML with XHTML :/

  • @mytube232 Img is fine. Works across the board. Your correct about the others

  • @optikalefxx It works but won't pass the validation. This here is, after all, talk about standards :)

  • @mytube232 In HTML img tags validate only if they do not have a closing tag. In XHTML they need to have it

  • And as usually Opera is neglected AGAIN! :/

  • @mytube232 Because Opera is more of a mobile browser ... on a mobile device opera performs nicely... on a desktop it performs the same as the mobile device which people hate..

  • @johnathon124 Oh, then speed dial chrome took from opera is also what people hate, bookmark sync as well, html5 video tag (which opera proposed) also... huge number of improvements people just took from opera... and now everyone hate opera?

It's their choice if they don't want to use it... but you can NOT say people hate it... if nothing else, because you don't know all the people who use browser.

Have you actually used this browser so you can speak out of your own extensive experience?

  • @mytube232 Obviously i couldnt judge a browser that i havent used, so i would obviously have to try it before judging it. Nintendo uses Opera in the DSi and the Wii [ and also released the Opera browser on a Game Pak for DS and DS Lite ]. Also, i use Opera on iPhone [ a huge security flaw was exposed, there were several who turned away from Opera for that ]. Not much is expected from the Wii or the DSi in terms of performance [ continued.... ]

  • @mytube232 so in a way, the Opera browser could be said to be outstanding. it supports HTML5 on a system that cant even do as much as other handhelds. On the Wii, the Wii isnt a Jesus console, and isnt expected to be one either. We dont expect Jesus browsing on the Wii, but for what it can do is amazing. kind of. Now, with the Desktop [ and iOS and Android ] , people expect Jesus browsing. Opera doesnt provide that. Thats an instant turnoff, which leads them to use another browser. [ cont... ]

  • @mytube232 With others, they beat down the shit out of their browsers until its fit for mobile devices with low expectations. with Opera, all we do is port it. a simple port and you have an abnormal browser running on a device with low specs. its like an illusion.

  • @johnathon124 Yeah... I know... only... do bare in mind that Android and iPhone opera's are Mini, not Mobile... :D ... Mobile is much much friendlier.

I don't know... I like it... a lot... Other browsers seem incomplete when compared to Opera...

  • Thank you for this. Really clear and helpful.

  • I really want Hulu to get HTML 5!! So the iPad has another thing it didn't have in the first place!!!

  • search ...speed test flash vs html5 on a nexus one.. you will see the real future and the demise of the iphone

  • Geez, this HTML5 is gonna end up like HDDVD did with Blu Ray. Adobe just needs to stay focused because iAds is NOT gonna take off, and on top of that they are using HTML5 for this new experiment, I see the iAds program being scrapped in 8 months. It's stupid. Adobe also needs to make flash more stable on Google Chrome then they will have 100% of my support.

  • @papifolks iAds will take off, its much easier to implement, much more fun, less annoying if you accidentally click on it, gives a better deal to devs, provides the user with a reason to click on the Ad... and its provided by apple rather than a 3rd party thing.

iAds will never get scrapped. i can bet on it. HTML5 is on the rise you know. hell, im watching YouTube vids using YouTube's HTML5 player ( runs waay faster than when i use flash ).

  • @johnathon124 I have noticed that HTML5 is quite faster but not that much faster. Apple's problem is that they are more like North Korea, secluded from the rest of the world. You may have their products but ultimately they control them instead of the consumer who PURCHASED the product. My theory is if I buy something then I should be able to do WHATEVER I want with it. Their shots to Adobe have set off a war that Apple isn't gonna win. HTML5 will die and Apple will lose momentum.

  • @papifolks HTML5 has been here for a while....in many sites in in a testing phase while other sites already officially support HTML5... in order for it to take over, Majority of sites will have to support HTML5. plus its Apple, once Apple supports something it never dies. Google and YouTube already support HTML5, and Google was praised by iPhone, iPad, and Android 2.1 users (and Froyo users who dont have flash) when the Google Pac-Man was playable on their devices.

    HTML5 will succeed, no doubt.

  • future .. html5 has no standard as yet. Flash 10.1 uses hardware acceleration so I recommend on the newer iphones that you jailbreak them and install flash 10.1 and stop messing around with html5 until it becomes a standard.

  • @uaboob your joking right?

  • @optikalefxx joke?? fact is html5 is not a standard. Every other manufacturer that makes smart phones in the top 8 are supporting flash 10.1. Thats a fact. Apple is putting their iad campaign together with the os4 release this summer using html5. thats a fact. html5 needs browser support to make it accelerate. Thats a fact. IE still needs a plug in and is 58% of the web browser. fact . Firefox is 38% and it does not support h.264 so these are big hurdles. enjoy your iads

  • @uaboob Flash uses way too many CPU resources. Fact. And crashes way too often. Fact. Flash sucks for video. Opinion.

  • @optikalefxx ability to access hardware acceleration is THE most important factor in overall cpu load. On windows where flash can access hardware acceleration the cpu requirements drop to negligible levels. Do you think that virtually ALL except apple is going to flash 10.1 because it is not better. Flash is on 98 percent of the computers on this planet. Fact. Flash player on windows is 58% more efficient than html5 in google chrome. Do you get your facts at the appstore.??

  • @uaboob I can sense that you aren't trying to have a relaxing argument. Lets talk in 8 months and see where html5 is vs flash.

  • @optikalefxx Ok I wager that html5 is still not a standard in 8 months. I also wager that on youtube html5 is still an experiment, I also wager that flash will be more entrenched. That the majority of browsers still do not support a unified html5 anything. That apple rolls out their iads and floods the internet with this advertising. That hardware companies like nvidia for video keep flash more efficient than the html5 in all platforms except Apple. That apple stock is below 250.00.

  • @optikalefxx haha good answer, no wait lets do even better lets see where HTML 5 is in 2 years, from what I have seen online about what they will be able to do, and I don't mean just video, or youtube, it looks to be a wild ride and some very cool future for the platform.

  • @uaboob I do however find it hilarious that Adobe itself added HTML 5 export to CS5...and IE 9 will be HTML 5 ready...but ya...I'm sure its not going to catch on...lol

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY It takes more than a video tag that has an undefined video tag and the one being promoted h.264 being ;proprietary to get me excited. Putting all the video on the table in h.264 which is proprietary and has royalties isnt my idea of a holy grail. Of course I am not building iads because apple is only a 5% market share product line and just isnt worth building on a closed plaform like apple in the long term.

  • @uaboob lol..."isnt worth building on a closed plaform like apple in the long term"

tell that one to the app developers in the app store...lol

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY Whats going to happen in the long run. People already in staggering numbers jailbreak their apple devices. At least the ones that dont want to live with the product in a closed system. Do a search on youtube on jailbreaking any new apple product and see the number of hits. What do you think is going to happen when some of them try out a rim phone and discover the phone and email functions of the phone are significantly better.

  • @uaboob Probably 10% at most jailbreak...I'm one of them...but I still use the app store regardless...and RIM is on its way out unless it does something major...its competing against Iphone, Android, and now the upcoming windows phone 7...it's going to go back to the way it was when only hard core business people will own blackberries...as a consumer why would you want one...

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY Well if Rim is on the way out then I wonder why it made record profits this year. Perhaps you should do a bit of research before you start tapping those keys. I had an iphone but would not use it as a phone because the reception was horrid, the audio receiving was poor, the sending audio was poor. For email the iphone was a joke. So if you want the key functions of a phone and email you stick with a quality device not a i toy. Try one and see for yourself.

  • @uaboob well I noticed you singled out iphone...so you don't see android or windows phone 7 as any threat to RIM ?

  • @uaboob ...a top of the line BB Bold is a toy compared to the new HTC EVO...BB- 2.4 inch screen, 2GB storage, 3.2 mp camera...pretty much no multimedia capabilities, pretty much no Apps...EVO-4.3 inch screen, 8mp camera, 720p video capture, 8Gb storage, front facing camera for chat, large amount of apps, huge multimedia capabilities, 4G ready, free turn by turn Navigation, Mobile hotspot for up to 8 devices...oh and I'm an iphone user,.but even I know its miles ahead of the bold...

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY you never had a bold? I need a phone first and foremost. I don't need apps. I also have a nexus one. I sold my iphone and bought the nexus one. So yeah I like htc. Virtually all smart phones will be running flash 10.1, and will take advantage of hardware acceleration. People are going to try out different options ...well maybe not the diehard apple fans, but Apple is not going to grow marketshare and will continue to decline in value/perforance.

  • @uaboob Again with the iphone...are you obsessed with the iphone or something...I was comparing a blackberry to real device...I personally don't care what happens to apple...

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY was this video about iphone.

  • @uaboob it might have been...but we were talking about RIM...or did you forget...

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY You never had a Rim phone. We established that. You stated that Rim was going down when they had three of the best quarters in their history and their net worth is the highest so we established that you did not know what you were talking about. Remember??

  • @uaboob that's weird cause their stock went from 147 dollars in June of 2008...to 64 dollars today...doesn't sound too good to me...

  • @BILLYBOBMANTARAY yes it was trading at 62 times earnings vs 17 times earnings today. Thats why I buy Rim Shares today and shorted Apple shares. Anyone that buys shares at 62 times earnings is a lunatic. The reality of this sector in share value has been a joke to many educated people. Would you rather have a stock trading at 17 times earnings or 62 times earnings? In both cases how long does it take me to make my money back on 100000 investment? Do the math.

  • @uaboob I have agree that RIM is on the way out the door. The storm and storm 2 were their attempts at the new phone market and both flopped in comparison. Phones are mobile computers now, a bb bold is good for last generation. But my generation, we are the future and we will prefer mobile computers to phones.

Black berry is like a 50 year old guy that is trying to get used to all the new kids but never really gets it.

  • @optikalefxx The new consumer phone is not even released yet. You don't have record earnings and go down the tubes. Read about the new operating system that is coming out in a few months. The hardware and software is more than an Apple will ever be. Look at speed test on flash 10.1 on the nexus one. They compare a nexus one running flash 10.1 vs html5. html5 is just a video tag of which the standard has not been determined. You want to believe Steve Jobs so bad that your brain fried.

  • @uaboob I wasn't arguing flash vs HTML 5...

I'm saying that my generation is sloping away from the kinds of phones bb makes. Unless they catch up because while right now bb rules it may not be the case in 15 years. You gotta think ahead, what's happening now and in 5 years are the same. Companies and analysts have to look 10-15 years down the line.

  • @optikalefxx Well record sales of bb phones in the last three quarters. "They already outsell Apple worldwide. Their new operating system will run flash 10.1 with no problem. Did you look at the speed test on the nexus one phone? Did you see how it rendered video exponentially to the iphone. Looking forward I say Apple cant cut the new technology or take advantage of gpu acceleration and will die. No one wants a closed system like Apple in any generation.

  • @uaboob Again not arguing about flash. I'm looking at rims biz model and what info they have released about what is to come.

    IMO android will surpass rim

  • @optikalefxx I make predictions based on facts, not fiction. You never owned a rim phone. I have a bold 9700 ..works great... just sold my iphone, and now bought a nexus one. They will continue to eat into the apple but I dont see any change other than up for Rim since the release. Most people don't buy a phone to play frogger on it. Is your generation under 10?

  • @uaboob I have owned Rim devices. Their small screens and small keys make them difficult to use. (i have big fingers). I agree with you about android over iphone.

Most people don't by phones for frogger, no but people are starting to buy into the mobile computer in your pocket idea.

  • @optikalefxx I like the new bold exponentially to the iphone. The phone works great, The email works great. I just wish someone was bold enough to start changing the qwerty keyboard fomat. It was originally formulated to slow you down because the keys would jam if you went to fast. Time to move on and teach the kids some new stuff.

  • @uaboob The "only" thing blackberry has got going for it is email...and it won't be able to ride that horse forever...

  • 256kbs is far too low for a video that size! I recommend at least a 1,000!

  • @TheTechnoRat You try to stream a 1000kbs bitrate video over 3g....

I found .5 to be an OK medium. It won't choke on full bars, but it will choke with 2 bars.

  • y o u t u b e . c o m / h t m l 5

  • @reddragon9918 ?

    This video is so old

  • nice :)

  • how do you open source

  • big hands?

  • @optikalefxx wtf

  • Very interesting. I'm assuming the "player" for the video in HTML 5 is whatever is installed on the system (i.e. the iPhone brings up it's quicktime video player) So basically, video on the Internet went in one big circle, at one point actually embedding video files on web pages, to converting them to flash applets, and now back to video files.

  • @TheRedComa well 3rd parties step in when a standard isn't set. The idea is to set a standard that web browsers understand. all browsers didn't work with embed correctly. the goal is that with new tech that html5 will become standard.

its like having to download adobe bold, just to get bold text, the browser should do that for you.

  • heheeh This video didn't play in Chrome with the HTML 5 player :)

  • Thanks dude, you really helped me there. Keep doing those tutorials, they are great!
