great band,i was there that day.used to go see them all the time at vici hall in stoke.they dont do the small venues now.why do a 30 date tour when you can get the same amount of punters in a 8 date uk tour if your lucky.

Listening to this on youtube, as I did on my cd in the car on my drive home earlier tonight, I nearly forgot Maiden is a heavy metal band. I've been listening to this song and Maiden since my teenage years (very early 90's), and it still gets me every time. Its one of those few songs that has always been there for me when I needed it.

Apparently, others feel the same about this godsend of a band. Only genius could write such a moving piece.

wow...amazing! I was reminising, actually looking for any Monsters of rock (van halen tour) to match my ticket stubs! came across this (not exact concert) to match my iron maiden Wed. June 1st, 1988 8:00 pm in Seattle concert ticket stub. That was a crazy concert. I remember starting in general pop, high of course, I was getting so crushed I had to get out. The show was better from a seat!! if you know what I mean.

They didn't know about it till they came off...which is what makes it worse. Bruce has said that they didn't know about it until afterwards :-/

well done graemecrackers!! this was the first gig I went to - 15 yrs old - moonchild built up and I lost my fucking mind .maiden were on form and played for ages. got this audio from radio one the week after. maiden need to release this class performance.

the crush here was serious - the video screen bruce mentions came down during guns n roses - two lads dead - many ribs crushed. valuable lesson learned here - outdoor gig = stay at the back...

think this was guns n roses first uk gig and the crowd went bananas. the video screen to the left of the stage collapsed and there was a surge forwards and to the right. god, it hurt.

maiden were unaware of the injuries as I understand.

The great thing about Maiden is they will always play thier classics live. Your teenage years would have been soundtracked by Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Radiohead,PJ Harvey, maybe System of a Down, Queens of the Stoneage etc. I'd like to have been 19 when System came out with Mesmerise/Hypnotise...
