you were like 5 blocks away from the top... XD (I've built a house from the botton to up there (in cobblestone) and I always notice that the clouds go right through the 2nd last floor,,, X3
I've started using this method for mining sand. Knock out a solid block two below the bottom sand block, put a torch there (preferably a wall-torch on a block you'll remove later) and then remove the one above it for instant sand. You can clear out a whole sand dune in a day this way with a little practice.
@flussence Or you can dig out the bottommost sand block with a torch in hand -- if you time it right, you can place the torch in that moment before the sand above occupies the block, but after it starts falling.
@schick413 Other people come up with it, I just read/watch and remember. This particular video is just an illustration of someone else's idea, as detailed in the video description.
@narc0tiq It's possible to overshoot a jump and clip the edge of the pool and be dealt damage. If you can land in a pool, you can hit the safe zone of a ladder. I do it all the time.
I was sitting there going "Wow, he's going to feel dumb when he has to dig all of that sand down." Then I totally got slapped in the face with my ill knowledge right afterward. Awesome video!
@narc0tiq who really needs flint? its damn near useless. you need like maybe 5 flint. ... besides, this is for making SCAFFOLDS, not for mining out gravel.
@DJRAMZY87 Some of us make and use our own arrows. And I was replying to the guy who wanted to make flint this way -- which doesn't work. Nothing wrong with asking a question.
@thedustah then you've obviously never heard real dubstep in your life

What accent is that? I hear it all the time and I never really thought about where the hell it comes from until now.
Great idea btw, I'll be using this after I submit this comment.
xRawlins 1 year ago
@xRawlins The accent is Romanian, though, as others have said, it is similar to other European and near-Eastern accents.
I'm glad you found this useful :)
narc0tiq 1 year ago
@xRawlins I meant, of course, to speak of Near Eastern accents -- as in, accents from countries of the Near East.

Instead of deailing with the water, just put a ladder on the bottom block. It will catch your fall.
grokent 1 year ago
@grokent It's possible to fall on top of a ladder rather than in front of it, which will deal damage to you. Water is safer.

Does the water have to be 2 squares deep?
highTrolla 1 year ago
@highTrolla At least two tiles deep, 3 for safety. More than that isn't necessary.

You also just dig out the bottom sand block with the torch and place one really quick, don't need that dirt pile.
