  • @RichardElden So what? Seriously, how does that effect your life or mine?

  • @RichardElden What's so bad about that?

  • @RichardElden Honestly, Nasser? Who cares one way or the other? Of what consequence was Egypt on the world stage in the early 60's?

  • It is amazing we have this on recording! Thanks for posting!

  • @RichardElden I know, It was meant as an insult toward turkey, land of human trafficking.

  • Obama,Clinton and the Bushes wouldn't make pebble turds next to these two statesmen

  • why did we have missiles in a shit country like turkey?

  • Yes, Ike prefered to be called General after he left office.

  • I love his Boston accent!

  • Everyone liked IKE- Except my Grandpa who was for Stevenson.

  • Sorry, Jpec... ya need to read something and stop listening to right-wing radio and Fox News. I'm not sure what "The contras were him" means either. The same myths said over and over do not make for facts. And by-the-way, the Contra terrorists were fighting in Nicargua, in Central America, not South America.

  • Reagan gets much undeserved credit for the demise of the USSR due to his military buildup (which had enormous costs). It was the containment policy of Truman and yes, GOP administrations too, that led to their death knell. Gorbachev's glasnost/perestroika policies did more to cut the USSR off at the knees than any US President, and it had very little to do with either US defense policy or military spending. The USSR was crumbling due to inner stagnation of the Brezhnev era.

  • When they were having the usual President and President-Elect meeting during the transition, Eisenhower always called Kennedy "Kennedy."

  • Ronald Reagan: cut the top marginal tax rates from 70 to 28 percent (we've never recovered), then raised taxes 11 times. Raised the SECA, (self-employment tax rate by 60%. He tripled the national debt and his S & L bailout cost 2.4 times what Bush's financial crisis did. Credit 40 years of containment for ending the cold war - not him. He supported despots in S. Africa and Iraq, gave arms to the Contas and lied about it... we're still paying for his idiocy... and the rubes think he was tops.

  • @notredamehesamighty We experienced a level of growth during his Presidency that we have never seen before and it was his defense spending that bankrupted the Soviets as they did not have the economy capable of keeping up with our level of spending. The contras were him trying to fight the soviets in South America but to pay for it well guess who you had to make your B**** in order to have a war.. Your guessed it... Iran and Iraq..We helped both sides to make sure neither won out as a power.

  • The elite establishment thought JFK was going to be just another ballplayer because of his father and that he came from money. When they determined that he was a man of his own and a brilliant man who would not go to war to continue the money machine he was removed.

They realized what a danger this man who did not require their money to become elected was and it scared them.

  • Who's standing behind John, I can't see his face..

  • Thanks JFK. Thank God you were in charge then and not some of the other right-wing fanatics or puppets that have run the country since. We escaped by the skin of our teeth here.

  • ITS AMAZING TO SEE JFK A DEMO AND IKE A REPUBLICAN, WORKING ON THE ISSUE WITH NO PARTY HAGGLING

  • good blessed irish blood the man sounds normal cant say much for any other presidents obama change you can believe in what a load a shit

  • GREAT piece of history. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

  • what have you done spectre0075? I bet nothing lol and thats why you hate RFK LOL

  • Saved the world?, Uh, dunna think so

  • Coolold85Your an ungrateful asshole you piece of shit.Jfk didn't do shit except screw women.Go suck your dad's cock.

  • u know what fuck you cock suker u dont know how good kennedy was your just an ungreatful duchbag

  • The picture is a very rare one of JFK with a hat (although not actually wearing it).

  • Did Ike prefer to be called General instead of Mr President after his terms were over?

  • Yes, because Ike thought of himself primarily as a soldier--he never really considered himself a polical figure. Even while he was president, his vice-president, Nixon, always called him "General," which is what Ike wanted him to call him.

  • Cool. I figured it was his preference.

  • @rmm413c and resepctfully, he was a better general than historical accounts show him to have been as a president. your knowledge regarding this is appreciated! I was wondering the same thing as the previous person who posted! TY for posting!!!

  • Ike was a five star general before being elected president. He had to resign to run for president because in this nation a member of the military can not be president in this nation. When he left office, Kennedy re-appointed Ike General of the Army. That is why he was known as General instead of Mr. President after he left the presidency.

  • Kennedy re-appointed Ike as General of the Army?? LOL. You're kidding, right??

  • No I am not kidding. There were several 5 star generals created in WW II. George Marshall, Douglas Macarthur, and Ike. Kennedy recommissioned him a 5 star general about 2 months after succeeding Ike as president.

  • You're right, Joe! I googled it and by gum JFK did recommission him.

Classy move and smart politically as well.

  • That is true, but he was also referred to as General because many insist that General is a higher honor then "Former President" or "President"

  • @jrekdal ... Likewise for Washington and Grant .... although George actually went back into uniform .

  • @jrekdal Also, it's easy to understand that IKE's role as General was much more critical and significant to history than his tenure as President. He held the Presidency well and kept the 50's smooth politically. For that and for just not messing up much on anything makes him one of Presidents I like. The interstate highway project was an important legacy of his, in keeping with the pace of spreading suburbs in American life. There hasn't been a better Republican as President since.

  • you pal are a piece of trash! Do us all a favor and eat a bullet.

  • The Soviets still have missiles in Cuba?

Um, you know the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, right??? It doesn't exist any more as a country?

So, there are no Soviet missiles in Cuba. Or any nuclear missiles for that matter.

Unless your one of these "The lunar landing never happened" kind of people, in which case, your insane.

  • How do you know for sure it wasn't filmed in a airplane hanger?

Russia doesn't need missilea in Cuba today. They have nuclear submarines that can launch them.

  • @deltapunk21 oh because you say so. I see

  • God! I love u-tube

    Two of the greats.

    Thanks for posting

  • It is truly amazing isnt it...the amount of information we have at our fingertips is staggering, I wonder if Kennedy ever thought one day all this would be so publicly available

  • Sure he did. Kennedy was president at the exact time when TV was starting to flourish. While he was president, TV newscasts switched from 15-minute segments to the half-hour segments which they are today. He was also the first president to give a press conference broadcast live to Europe (coutesy of the TelStar satellite which had just been launched). I think JFK was amazed at the changes technology was having on everyone's lives.

  • JFK was the only great president since Ronald Reagan and FDR.

  • oh please

  • Here's a tidbit: Obama will be the first president since JFK with a three-syllable last name.

  • Lawls

  • vagina boob

  • I love how you guys in the USA soon fell out of love with your first black president who was going to make the world better lol.

Don't get me wrong I was so pleased when Obama was made president of your "Mad Country" but he was on a hiding to nothing.

  • Absolutley not - not a single piece of major legislation was passed, nor would have been passed. He was all flash and no substance.

  • @Intrepid237 name 1 thing reagan did great. he was the one who let wall st takeover, he created the worst war in US history, which is the drug war which kills millions and effects every man women and child in this country. he let pakistan go nuclear, funded the mujahadeen which morphed over time into 2 or 3 factions and they turned into al qaeda. he didnt end the cold war, russia was out of $. nevermind the INSLAW, oct surprise, iran contras and the arms for drugs scandals. he sucked

  • democratic presidents dont talk like this anymore...its appeasement and retreat now...

  • Really? Who's talking about retreat and appeasement?

  • Agreed. Democrats need to abandon the policies of Ted Kennedy and revert to the policies of Jack Kennedy. Once they do that, they'll have regained their footing. Now is the time, because the Republicans are reeling.

  • Ironically, I would say the Reps should do the same thing with Nixons policies...

  • Ted Kennedy? He has been one of your best people in the senate trying to get 50,000,000 people free health care deep down he is a decent Human being and that does not mean what those on fox news say. Just FREE, so you be left to die here in the UK, LIES, nobody is turned away and NO, Ted Kennedy would still be treated on the NHS for NOTHING and I bet better and cost less. We get the LATEST Cancer Drugs too, I got them last year for Bowel. Stephen Hawking is still alive because of the NHS.

  • Ted Kennedy is too liberal. Socialized medicine will never work in the USA, due to our large population and the number of illegals living here. The costs would be overwhelming. You folks in Europe can continue with what works for you, but we'll stick with what works for us.

  • what is medicaid and medicare

  • But your system is not working sean2015. You leave things as they are now and the "great USA" will have no money left by 2030. Even China will dump your debt

  • China will not dump our debt. They could've easily done so already if they had wanted to.

China needs us as much as we need them.

  • maybe be not now but the USA will not be the super power going into the next two decades, China will. Countrys are like people who own money, the lenders are the power.

  • China is too dependent on the West to become the next super power (whether they are buying our bad debt or not).

They have way too many problems. Beijing & Shanghai are just as foreign to people in Chinese countryside as they are to people in the West.

The overwhelming percentage of the Chinese population lives in poverty that does not exist in The United States.

  • lol.............. bleek............. WAKE up to POVERTY in your "Great USA" How many of you can afford Health Care? If you are lucky to have it?

Next 20 years your country will go like my country "Great Britain" down the drain.

Thats life, If you own money you have to pay it back LOL.

  • You have a totally myopic view of the USA. I am far from poor and I have always has health coverage. There is a distinct difference between health care and health coverage in the U.S. Everyone is admitted to emergency rooms here.

Your country, on the other hand, rations health care. i have never been on a waiting list for an MRI in my life and I have had several.

  • In addition, the U.S. does not have any real abject poverty. i live in Philadelphia and the every time I drove through the ghetto areas in North and West Philly I see kids with brand new sneakers and cell phones.

Our lower class enjoys a standard of living not seen in any other century in human history. Further, we have every opportunity to to economically mobile.

  • @bleekblock yeah, selling crack is so enjoyable. So driving by ghettos is how you know about the rural poor in this country? it shows

  • @yot5000 There is no such thing as a free lunch.

  • Do you know what you mean by that statement? I bet not. Lucky I will never be on a desert irland with you lol. But knowing my luck you would be there and ask for my help, bugger free lunch then?

    Twat

    I

  • Yot does not understand that the Tooth Fairy does not deliver the so called free health care.

  • YOt knows YOU bleek lol

  • Thank you so much for this rare glimpse in history it is fascinating to hear such candid talk about these events I really have enjoyed hearing Eisenhower's views especially when he references Korea amazing

  • Ronald Reagan said it best a nuclear war can not be won and can not be every fight

  • I find it amazing and admirable how JFK consulted all living ex-presidents to get their opinion; compared to this idiot Bush who doesn't even ask his own dad for advice!

  • @esb84 You don't know what you are talking about. It has recently been disclosed in the media that GWB called Bill Clinton regularly.

  • I've been listening for hours to these incredible historical presidential tapes. And I just realized they all have one thing in common.. they were all downloaded by the same poster.

I can't thank this person enough.

  • This is incredible, extremely fascinating the pinnacles of power discussing one of the prominant events of the century.

  • Agreed.

    Marvellous stuff and Historic.

    Thanks for posting !!
