  • Did you create the characters? I mean, not only drawn, but also written how they would act etc.

  • @MindOfCreativity The pilot was written by Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley. I cast the pilot and directed it. So Kevin and Andy came up with what they would say and I came up with how they would look and sound and move for the pilot. For the series, Kevin, Andy and I were all Executive Producers and it was a very collaborative mix where we were pretty much all on the same page with almost everything.

  • Wow, I gotta say I haven't seen this show until today after a friend linked me to it. I can join the rest of the crowd in liking Tabitha, and I was surprised because for years I myself have designed an RPG and story character that has a VERY similar personality and traits as hers, and to be honest the similarity is feeling a bit uncanny as I never heard or seen Tabitha or this show until now. It's like seeing my own character in action, and she gives me lots of inspiration. Thanks for the show!

  • forgot the name, but the yellow cat looks high.

  • @BubsyThebobcat When I was doing Mummies Alive, a writer friend mentioned this project he was doing. It would have been the first series we would have created. Had a lot of great artists involved as well.

  • Did you use Adobe softwher? Cs4 or Cs5?

  • @Donthaveachannel At the time it was before CS3 but now I'm on CS5.

  • @EmoDeidaraProduction Probably not....sorry...The fans would have to hound ABC Family until they couldn't NOT put it back on or until they would sell it to someone else.

    lola i loveYOu

  • FREAKED OUT DOOPER ROCKS

  • I loved this show!!!! My friend and I were so sad when they took the show away!!!

  • This show is awesome. Why on earth was there only 6 episodes for the first season, and no second season, despite all the rumors? Will ABC family get a clue, and air the show in Sept of 2008?

Hey Seth, have you worked on the 2nd season yet, or have they not even given you a green light yet?

  • This is the most frequently asked question. I wish I had a better answer. ABC family only does 6 episode seasons. We produced 12 episodes. So the second season exists, it's just waiting to see the light of day. I have asked when and where people might be able to see those episodes and I don't really get a response. I am as confused as everyone else as to why they wouldn't show the other half of a series they own instead of syndication packages that they don't.

  • The episodes that are hanging out in Limbo are....One where Buckley, Eddie and Tabitha go on a crime spree with a character named Dolenz who is very Ben Kingsley from Sexy Beast.

One where Eddie is going to get castrated and I think we came up with about 100 euphemisms for Balls.

One where Louise losses her Job and Buckley accidently gets hire for it.

One where Buckley Eddie and Tabitha get locked in a garage. Buckley almost marries Tabitha until he finds Eddie making out with her.

  • One where Buckley and Eddie and Tabitha shut off the internet and plunge the world into Chaos.

One where Trevor comes back and frames Buckley for killing a cat so he can get his revenge on Buckley for the incident with the model home.

As a whole, I think the later episodes were funnier than the first ones because the show was finally hitting it's stride. There were also scripts underway for a third season.

  • that sounds like some good concepts for that season! wtf ABC family?

  • Well I really hope we get to see this show again, seriously i love it.

  • AWESOME!

  • @SethKearsley one of my favorite shows all time. any chance of it coming on again? Is there a stuffed animal of Tabitha I can buy??

  • @JThomas13619 Thanks much. There's always a chance however it's pretty remote in this case. They could sell the show to another network. Who knows. Unfortunately, no, there's no merchandise period for the show. The biggest mistake in my view. The show could start paying for itself if they just put out a little merchandise but Disney owns ABC Family and Slacker Cats is at the very bottom of the merchandising totem pole for a place like Disney.

  • @JThomas13619 Is that true. do you really love this show. I want to bring it back to. give me a contact to abc family headquarters and maybe in can convince them to recreate it on a another channel. my ides are worth a look at least.

  • Tabatha's my fav character like, ever xD

  • is that pink cat based on a prostatoot cat. it kinda look like one lol:))

  • Slacker Cats is the best, really looking forward to the next season. Your work has inspired me to start animating again. Better than family guy is my vote

  • It's the Cintiq21UX. I think you can just order it from Wacom. Or at least find dealers from their site if nothing else.

  • hey do u work with al rosson?

  • he was working on Slacker Cats at Animax. They did two of our 12 episodes. So...I worked with him in that sense.

  • I really love the designs dude.. How much did that WACOM..Monitor.. thing.. cost?.. It's freaking awesome. I'm using a Intuos 2 WACOM for my flash stuff.. It's old but it gets the job done.

    Great work!

  • I think that particular model is about $2,300 but worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. Once you draw on one you have a hard time going back to the Intuos. There's a new model that was just announced that's $1,900 but it's also a little smaller and I don't know that it rotates like this one does.....which is nice if you're used to working on a traditional animation disc at all.

  • Sadly I haven't had a chance to use a traditional animation disc since my animation diploma.. But man would I really like to get my hands on one of those things. I'll have to look into getting one.. I like my intuos 2.. But weirdly enough it can't beat what I can do on paper.

  • yeah....that changes on the Cintuq. I could never draw well on the Intuos but you take to it like a fish to water when you're actually leaving the mark where you're pointing. There's nothing like drawing on Paper for the sensitivity that you have when there's nothing between your drawing instrument and you're drawing surface but for professional animation work where revisions are a constant, there's nothing like drawing digitally. It's easily 10 times faster.

  • Well come to think of it, I wouldn't mind grabbing myself one.. I've been doing a lot of freelance flash animation stuff lately and I think it could help speed up the process.

Where would be the best place to order one online.. And what is the exact name of the model you're using there?
