Hi any chance you have the same video with the origonal sound, just so people may be able to hear what bruce lee is explaining after he dose the teckniques.
@funkeemon i suspect the same thing ... he could not have died of "overfitness" that is the most stupid thing to say as an excuse for why he died. why do they got to tak away all the people that were actually "somone" :/ ...
Damn he's such an awesome fuckin guy. I would give anything just to meet this dude once. It sucks that he died before I was even born.. Dude is still the best martial artist to THIS day. Fuckin love this guy.
I would have loved to see Bruce Lee and Wong Jack Man fight. The only nugget of unbiased truth I can find about that fight is that they clinched a few times. I suspect it didn't end as quickly as some people claim. Based on what both men did after the fight, they both needed to improve their arts greatly.
Bruce Lee would be one of the very few people in the past 100 years or more, that I would absolutely love to meet and talk to. His intelligence, knowledge of Kinetics, martial arts and general philosophy on various facets of life is outstanding and truly inspirational.
He was an extremely intelligent person, and that intelligence, coupled with his incredible physical prowess, made him the pinnacle of of both martial arts and what a human can physically become with the right talent, technique.
@Crz2B Amazing post man. We will never see another human as decided to physical fitness and martial science like Bruce Lee. I wish i would have been able to meet him as well. I would have loved to take that 1 inch punch from him, i'm sure the ones who have feel very proud of it.
haterz are going up to heaven but don't be happy because ur're going to Hell after Bruce knocked the living fuck out of u LMFAO. Bruce gonna make u his bitch then bitch slap u all the way to hell then he gonna kick and jam his leg up ur ass so deep that u'll come back to life to warn everyone. That's what happen to me ^_^ P.S. Bruce looks like The Incredible Hulk in heaven. R.I.P Bruce. R-E-S-P-E-C-T
This man lived and breathed it, with ever bit of his soul, Kung Fu was his life. and this is what made the man. The world is a better place for having known a little Kung Fu
@guynamedtroy... No he looks like Bruce, he may be Bruce but the guy with him just fell down, you see that Bruce go with him but he doesn't fall, he gets up , i think, i don't know...thank you Guynamed!
Jeet Kun Do is not an innovation on Wing Chun. Bruce Lee took elements from fencing, boxing, and all kinds of martial arts. Filipino, Japanese, and Chinese martial arts were used to form his expression. Jeet Kun Do is not a style, it is a concept. You take what is best for you and compose your expression of martial arts. He not only focused on martial arts but also strength training. Anyone who was seen to hold a 75lb dumb bell at arms length for over 20sec at his weight was a superhuman.
@omga14 First off, JKD is based off of MODIFIED Wing Chun, MODIFIED Western Boxing, and MODIFIED Western Fencing, that's it officially. Second, you're right JKD is not a style but there was a set CURRICULUM taught at the Chinatown school for those to learn, and then at his home there would be the real fight training. Lastly, I don't know when was the last you picked up a 75lb dumbbell, but I often do and I cannot perceive in anyway shape or form someone holding it out in front of them.
@guynamedtroy Joe Lewis is credited with witnessing this feat of strength by Bruce Lee. I'm glad though that you clarified yourself though. It is based off of those techniques with some modifications to fit his concept. The curriculum though was like you do an outline for a story. Bruce gave you the outline and you filled in the story.
@omga14@AnNaumurn I was recently reading the notes about Bruce's workouts and it was a 75lb BARBELL NOT A DUMBBELL, which is a big difference. It is far more plausible for someone to hold a 75lb barbell with BOTH arms than dumbbell. And to AnNaumurn's uninformed comment that he deleted, I study and practice Jeet Kune Do on a daily basis. I have read and re-read his notes I know what he meant by them.
I definitly wanna do Jeet Kune Do one day, using counter attacks as defence and offense is just amazing and out of the ordinary as we would also describe Bruce Lee himself.... "Be like water my friend"
he didnt fuk it off totally , he took what was usefull for him i.e centre line theory, low kicks, finger jabs , side and chain punches, chi sau etc you sound like u havent got a clue about martial arts u lemon
mixedmartialfighter has a point there, he didn't abandon everything, some of it was and still is useful for fighting. Bruce Lee had realized that it wasn't everything you need, and sought to fill the gaps so to speak.
A ver, esos borricos que dicen que el buen Bruce fue solo un actor. Además de actor, fue un gran luchador, un REVOLUCIONARIO de las artes marciales, y un filósofo, además de una gran persona.

I agree in the way you mean. Bruce did nothing that had not been doe before when it comes to cross-training. However, it's all about context, and what Bruce did was challenge the establish at a time when other people weren't. He wasn't the only one, but he was the loudest and that's why he is so recognized even to this day.
bruce lee also states he never invented anything he just made a new style for himself to combine all the styles he learned to be put into one.. He liked his style to be loose and flexible and not stiff like most martial art styles
fairy tales, man Bruce Lee was real, I don't know why you got ur panties in a bunch, no one is discrediting the contributions to Ju-Jitsu or anything else the Gracies have done. There are many great contributors to the evolution of martial arts.
The reason ufc and all mma is around now is because of Bruce Lee... He changed the world... If it wasn't for him, everyone will only know the style of boxing and karate only in america! Remember, he fought for his rights to teach americans and other colors. Thank you guynamedtroy for posting this vid! its the best Bruce Lee clip from longbeach I have ever seen. Keep up the good work!
If it wasn't for Bruce Lee the world of Martial Arts would not be the way it is today. To dispute this is ignorant. I wasn't even born before he died and even I can tell what impact he's made. @tjprodigy Yes that is true... Bruce Lee changed the world for good... Everyone wants to learn martial arts because of Bruce Lee... Everyone wants to become a fighter because of Bruce Lee... He's my Idol and He is the greatest martial artist in the world... Thanks to him UFC is still going strong...
No offense to anyone but bruce would have disapproved of cagefighting & UFC. He represented true combat self defense not "lets compete and call it martial arts even though when we get in the ring we forget almost everything were taught and we'll ad rules and padding and throw in paded ground so no-one will hurt their wittle knees"martial arts are self defense not get in a ring and have two attackers and no defenders.
@MrAaronch /i fully agree with you my friend. These days it is all ego.Anyone who has looked closely at Bruce will know he was very spirtual. There is a quote of his along the lines of "every kick and punch was not to beat the hell out of some guy but beat the hell out of my ego".
@tjprodigy why did you say karadee when you could have just said karate? if you were gonna type karate why bother??? trying to be smartass much? anybody can use wikipedia mate
Dumbass... I wrote Karadeeeeee because that's how people incorrectly pronounce it. Fuck wikipedia. What do I need that for? so I can be like everyone else on here trying to sound like experts?
and the point in me using the wrong pronounciation "Karadee" in my qoute is to show how usually the people that consider Bruce to be "just another KARADEE guy" usually do not know what they are talking about. I have no idea on why you got so upset about that.
you're right. I was around and witnessed how great he was and even to this day haven't seen anyone better. My father took me to see him live one time, and, during one of his demonstrations, he smashed a 3 inch thick cinder block with a one inch punch!
Sure. In April of 1968 Bruce was visiting Chicago and stopped in my home town of Hammond which is right across the border. He put on a show at the Hammond civic center. It was awesome!
The one actor from the movie that chuck norris was in asked Chuck if he could be Bruce.. and chuck said immediately .. No no one can beat Bruce Lee .. lol
get it right...bruce asked chuck to be in the movie since they trained together in the past...and they was training partners not master/apprentice like some morons think.
My friend i have been arguing for months over those statements. I asked everytime what evidence do you have to those claims. So far its been total nonsense and uttterly asanine. Fupper 16 was the first i forgot the other names of the losers.
@tjprodigy I would have to agree 100% it shows what little people really know. bruce lee studied, mastered and continued to teach martial arts. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY before he began acting in movies. he also had a degree in philosophy. So not only was bruce a trained killer, he also studied to understand life. fuck all you haters......cuz you dont know shit!
Bruce Lee was a martial artist, he would not support the current MMA, which appears to have become WWE.
Initially with no weight ranks or time, and real martial artists he would have supported. I think he would find nearly all the contestants on ultimate fighter weak in mind and spirit due to lack of real training and inability to control their emotions. The current MMA taunting, trash talking, and showboating is not what he stood for...
I'm not pro trash talk, but Bruce Lee did more trash talk in his day than any martial artist alive. He challenged everyone, and did so publically. At the time, it needed to be done for people to break out of this traditional sleep. Original UFCs had mediocre fighters and some not very healthy fighters. It was sanctioned as a 'SHOW' and not pro level athletic event. It had to be changed for fighters to get paid and upgrade competition. It was a business move.
true but they have different purposes, ufc mma is for entertainment, lee was an entertainer but his martial arts meant more to him. To say lee would find everybody weak is a bit cheeky considering lee never fought professionally even though he fancied himself as a fighter judging by his youth, not trying to take anything away from him but atleast other people had the balls to get in the ring, its not fair to say he would beat everybody when he obviously knew better and stayed away from competing
Bruce thought competing was a waste of time. Also to say he isnt a pro is very correct. He is a master. No one could do what he could do no one. I often wonder why he isnt in guiness or somthing like world wonder. The str this man had would frighten the strong men of today. Who else do you know can poke holes in to steel with there fingers. Pnch holes in rods that sledge hammers could not even break. Are you saying bruce didnt have the balls to get in the ring? If so your in for a rude awakening
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I use tiger dragon eagles claw with a touch of mantis fist when things get out of hand at the BOWLING ALLEY. Just last week I had to put the scorpion pinch on a tender fella at the go cart track.
I Agree man...I think we as Martial artist should Evolve from his teachings, because thats what he would've wanted. We r capable of so much more than we can imagine, Discipline and Simplicity r the key factors to becoming a profound Mixed Martial Artist.
Bruce was all about speed dont hesitate just do it and quicker then your opponent. so if bruce was in an mma fight you wouldnt stand a chance against bruce before you try to do a hit or pull your arm back to do a hit he already punches you 10 times and leaves down on the floor thinking what the fuck was that!
with anysports mauy thai kickbox any style he can handle its all about speed and quickness
he more then just all speed...recheck urself plz...his speed didnt make him a legend that would only make him a master...there more to his punchs and kicks then just speed his excution are just perfect
let us not forget the 400lb punching bags bob wall made for him, bruce could almost send them off their chain with punches alone..push ups with 250 lbs on his back..i have a buddy that is a 255lb body builder and he cant do that...bruce was no joke....
Jackie Chan's "Drunken kungfu" is not representative of the REAL style. He himself has said that he had to make up half the stuff he did in that movie. Obviously he knows what he is talking about.
That movie is awesome (talking about part 2 mostly" it's one of my fav JC movies. So don't think I'm hating on Jackie. He is great.
Really? I feel that Tony Jaa has more potential to be a legend when compared to Jackie Chan. Tony Jaa is definitely one of a kind, but no one will be as great as Bruce.
it ok dude dont hurt urself we all know he not around anymore i didnt believe it was him ither but it is him that him rite there teaching his knowlegde ur not the only one that misses him so whip those tears off he wouldnt want to see u crying like that so smile because he his smiling over us too
greatest teacher and fighter of all time. He did not care about skin color or type of martial arts. He wanted to teach the way of life through JKD. wish he was still alive, great man
I don't think Jet Li and Bruce Lee are really comparable. Completely different guys with different history in the martial arts and martial art movies. Bruce Lee was about discovering the ultimate and truest expression both in and outside of combat. Bruce Lee created a philosophy and set of principles on martial arts that continues to thrive even almost 40 years after his passing. I don't think we will see that from Jet Li, and in fact in 40 years from now we won't even remember Jet Li.
Well, Bruce Lee was a man who wanted to be remembere. He is, and will always be a true legend of every martial artist for a long time.. BUT, I know, that in 40 years, I will remember Jet Li too, and I think many others will. And with all respect, I dont say that you can compare Bruce and Jet Li, because you can't :)
Bruce Lee's time will never be over, man. You just don't see how many he's inspired to be the best that they can be. He will forever live in his fans hearts, and his time of inspiration and wonder will never be over. No offense, I know that what you wrote was your opinion Germanicus79, and everyone's entitled to thier own.
Bruce Lee, for the lack of a better term, was the baddest dude ever, period! His concepts and philosophies on the art of combat were revolutionary. The Gracies deserve ever ounce of credit they get but, Bruce Lee, not Helio Gracie, is the father of the most dominant martial art ever.
Bruce Lee in his books said that Jeet Kune Do was an ever evolving art. It would have been nice to see what it would have become if Bruce Lee was still alive today.
bruce was the master many people hated him because he came up and had allot of money and people challenge him on set because people thaught that he was a frod but he always won a fight

@tjprodigy Alot of people make statements and opinions based soley on emotion and narrow-mindedness.

Thank you, man!
And for those haters saying Chuck would easily beat him, Chuck himself said Bruce Lee would defeat him.

Had Bruce been alive today, he would be a supporter of MMA. He was way ahead of his time.
MAfanatic 2 years ago
Bruce Lee was a martial artist, he would not support the current MMA, which appears to have become WWE.
Initially with no weight ranks or time, and real martial artists he would have supported. I think he would find nearly all the contestants on ultimate fighter weak in mind and spirit due to lack of real training and inability to control their emotions. The current MMA taunting, trash talking, and showboating is not what he stood for...

GSP - Not your typical MMA fighter.

your right on the spot with GSP, seems like on of the few legite, and is very respectful....someone B. Lee would have pointed at as the model...
Its too bad he is the exception....
MegaKumite 2 years ago 2
I'm not pro trash talk, but Bruce Lee did more trash talk in his day than any martial artist alive. He challenged everyone, and did so publically. At the time, it needed to be done for people to break out of this traditional sleep. Original UFCs had mediocre fighters and some not very healthy fighters. It was sanctioned as a 'SHOW' and not pro level athletic event. It had to be changed for fighters to get paid and upgrade competition. It was a business move.
MAfanatic 2 years ago
true but they have different purposes, ufc mma is for entertainment, lee was an entertainer but his martial arts meant more to him.
TheLydianRocks 2 years ago
Bruce thought competing was a waste of time. Also to say he isnt a pro is very correct. He is a master. No one could do what he could do no one. I often wonder why he isnt in guiness or somthing like world wonder. The str this man had would frighten the strong men of today. Who else do you know can poke holes in to steel with there fingers. Pnch holes in rods that sledge hammers could not even break. Are you saying bruce didnt have the balls to get in the ring? If so your in for a rude awakening

I use tiger dragon eagles claw with a touch of mantis fist when things get out of hand at the BOWLING ALLEY. Just last week I had to put the scorpion pinch on a tender fella at the go cart track.

Arubadope 2 years ago
he more then just all speed...recheck urself plz...his speed didnt make him a legend that would only make him a master...there more to his punchs and kicks then just speed his excution are just perfect
kx10ngk 2 years ago
He wasnt just speed he was absolute strength. He could kick a 300 pound into the ceiling. This is one of a million things he can do.
kingrockkid 2 years ago
let us not forget the 400lb punching bags bob wall made for him, bruce could almost send them off their chain with punches alone..push ups with 250 lbs on his back..i have a buddy that is a 255lb body builder and he cant do that...bruce was no joke....

BoxFreshNikes 2 years ago
Jackie Chan's "Drunken kungfu" is not representative of the REAL style. He himself has said that he had to make up half the stuff he did in that movie. Obviously he knows what he is talking about.
That movie is awesome (talking about part 2 mostly" it's one of my fav JC movies. So don't think I'm hating on Jackie. He is great.

dude he was good, but Bruce Lee's time is over. u can compare him with Jet Lee !
Germanicus79 2 years ago
I don't think Jet Li and Bruce Lee are really comparable. Completely different guys with different history in the martial arts and martial art movies. Bruce Lee was about discovering the ultimate and truest expression both in and outside of combat. Bruce Lee created a philosophy and set of principles on martial arts that continues to thrive even almost 40 years after his passing. I don't think we will see that from Jet Li, and in fact in 40 years from now we won't even remember Jet Li.
guynamedtroy 2 years ago
Well, Bruce Lee was a man who wanted to be remembere. He is, and will always be a true legend of every martial artist for a long time.. BUT, I know, that in 40 years, I will remember Jet Li too, and I think many others will. And with all respect, I dont say that you can compare Bruce and Jet Li, because you can't :)

They are smart people.
Only one thing = Bruce was a street fighter since he was a teenage in Hong Kong.

Bruce Lee's time will never be over, man. You just don't see how many he's inspired to be the best that they can be. He will forever live in his fans hearts, and his time of inspiration and wonder will never be over. No offense, I know that what you wrote was your opinion Germanicus79, and everyone's entitled to thier own.
hopper15448 2 years ago 3
Bruce Lee, for the lack of a better term, was the baddest dude ever, period! His concepts and philosophies on the art of combat were revolutionary. The Gracies deserve ever ounce of credit they get but, Bruce Lee, not Helio Gracie, is the father of the most dominant martial art ever.
