  • Looks decent. So would your recommend Fedora over Ubuntu or what?

    and.......

Maybe ahhhhhh, ummmm, uhhhhhhh, you could ahhhhh, ummmmmmmm ahhhh uhhh plz uhhh ummmmmmmm uhhhh stop the ahhhh ummmm ahhhh's? I know it's uhhhhhhh ummmmmm ahhhhh hard sometimes lol. It'd make your video's much more watchable.

  • lol yeah, dude, my vids back then were untorable. but i keep them on ther for good laughs =p

  • y do u like Fedora better than Ubuntu is it because you find Fedora more stable or better support for your hardware or something? I use Fedora on my laptop but thats just for shits n giggles, I have no reason to like 1 more than the other apart from the fact the Ubuntu seems to "just work" alot better 4 me at least with the very latest versions.

  • is there a site that lists the supported gpu or cpu??? cuz i really want this but not sure if my pc is supported

  • i would be more worried about your gpu, try 9.04 first, if that doesn't work just go with 8.10

with 9.04 they dropped alot of ati drivers.

  • well how about nvidia drivers?

  • what nvidia card do you have?

  • its an igp

  • would this work if i hade 191MB of ram? I have an old ass computer that i am working on and it only has windows ME on it so you cant do jack shit so yeah thats why i want to get ubuntu.

  • you can install it using the ALT installer, witch is text based and takes alot longer. =]

  • how much ram does ur computer have? my guess is 4gigs of ram

  • haha 1GB

    i am getting 4gb in a couple weeks =p

    along with a quad

  • what are your specs?I wanna dual boot Windows Vista and Ubuntu also.Could u reply or even pm me on how u did it just a short tut,Please :)!

    Subed!

  • my laptop has a 1.6Ghz Celeron laptop with 512mb of ram.

what you do is insert your live cd while your on the windows desktop, and install it using the Wubi installer. you can only have up to 30GB for ubuntu tho, thats the only sucky part.

  • Im running this distro (The final version) on decent hardware and absolutly everything works like it should. It is my media center pc running XBMC and a SABnzbd client in the background. As long as you run the distro on decent hardware, you should be ok. Even though its Linux, this is the future and you cant expect to run a new operating system on a old school comp.

  • Some people are reporting problems with Pulse Audio also.

  • yeah i haven't had any problems with it tho.

  • If i download this will it affect any of me temporary files?

  • if you download 9.04 through update manager. no it won't affect anything .

    it's a good upgrade from 8.10.

    =]

  • why do ppl like pulse audio so much/?

  • hahaha i have no idea =p

  • why havent you set it to ext4? it goes faster and there arent any bugs that i can see

  • on my custom pc i have it set it up using ext4. quite nice =]

  • Are you experiencing java and flash problems with Ubuntu 9.04? Java and flash ran perfectly for me in 8.10, but I'm having tons of problems with it in 9.04.

  • try removing flash and resintalling it.

    worked for me.

also make sure you update your software abd system whenever there's updates avalable

  • long time ago i dropped my laptop like an idiot.

so now there is a line.

  • Nice, but needs to boot faster. That was about 75 seconds from bootloader to usable desktop.

  • maybe his computer isnt very fast becuase this boots in like 25-45 seconds in other videos ive seen

  • Well, sure, everything's faster if you get new hardware. :)

  • it boots pretty fast about 20 seconds using Jfs on my system. I uninstalled it, its very buggy especially with kde 4 ,unless kde 4 always sucked. I have found over 20 bugs from using it only for a day.

  • haah yeah this is on my laptop. it's has a 1.6 celeron cpu and 512MB of ram and a 5,400 rpm HD. my custom pc boots it within 32 seconds.counted yesterday =]

  • it boots to desktop with a 7,200 rpm hd within 20-40 seconds.

  • sweetness maybe I will give it atry haha

  • don't install it. it's very buggy. i have no idea why thy released it. prolly because they wanted to have the newest and updated gnome before fedora got to it.

they will fix the bugs within a couple weeks tho. so if you want to try it then use a live cd

  • Oops! Haha, already installed it this morning xD Oh well, it seems to be working pretty well so far so that's good *crosses fingers*
