I'm more of a German Shepherd person to be honest, and I can't see myself handling or trusting a pitbull lol (got more to do with me, not generalising on the breed). But you have such love and funny dogs there lol.

@gavroash when i lived in nc a german sheperd attacked and killed a little girl. it's all in how they are raised. now i own 2 pits as well as a chow shepard mix. punish the deed not the breed

@candihu I did literally say that I wasn't trying to generalise on the breed. This has more to do with me, I don't feel comfortable trusting or handling dogs from this breed, doesn't mean that every pit bull is unreliable :)

@gavroash many people are afraidor untrusting of a pitbull. mostly if a person has never known a pit bull or owned one then they don't trust them. it is understandable too since the media shows all negative things about them. i own a dog who is part chow and part shepard. he is a sweetie but cathces a lot of crap from the cats/kittens they pick on him a lot but then they r the same way with my female pit too lol

I adopted a pit from the shelter. She is the smartest and most loveable dog I have ever had. I believe it is the owner that causes the problems with this breed, but they do need formal trainning and socialization as with any breed. Give pits a chance they are not aggressive!

I agree with you, spinnerstowngirl....Lucy, the pit bull in this video is actually a rescued dog I adopted almost 3 years ago, she was badly abused by her previous onwer, and the local humane society was good enough to take her in and give her a chance at a new life, and now she is my baby. I love pit bulls and they are the best dogs!

swright8888, When I was 10 years old, I was ATTACKED by a purebred Golden Retriever, I was a kid walking down the road, I did nothing wrong, the dog ran into the street and attacked me. Its not the dogs its the owners. Oh, and I don't hate golden retrievers, either, even though my arm, back and leg are all scarred up.

"mr2kool109)" Like kids, any attention is good! Don't acknowledge what he does bad to stop it. Like when a dog jumps up on you, you turn away, without saying anything. It works, but everyone has to do it too. Consistancy is key! Dogs must know basic commands too. It lets them know what you expect at any time. It's tough, but don't get mad, yell or hit him. He only wants to please & it's your job to train & socialize him. It's worth it!

Especially good for PitBulls, since too many have negative opinions. Your dogs aren't bad, they only need to know what's acceptable for the long haul! Life w/a dog is wonderful, so whatever effort you make to build the relationship will be well worth it.

My dog has been raised around a cat and she's a pit, she loves people and in the house she is calm as possible, but when she's off the leash outside she morphs into this lunatic attacking machine and sprints down the block. She's crazy.

Being raised around cats is good for dogs. It makes them more tolerant and so safer.
