Try to torque your hips more, you have the motion right. As for the leaning back part, for what you're doing, you're positioned upright. I can imagine it'd be harder, so if you lean back even just a bit, you'll feel a bit more comfortable
(don't have to lean all the way back just as myloginnamechi said earlier).
ur stepping looks right, u have the right idea. now just put more power in the kicking foot, and do a full kick, ic that ur kicking foot isn't extended fully. leaning back does make it easier, but it's not recommanded since it makes the landing harder when trying to learn it. just put more power in the kick. (put ur hips into it) and tuck in ur other foot.

Yes, jump a LOT more. Rip the first leg up hard, and throw up your arms as well.
