It's as if the song was assembled by a focus group or written with a computer program. At least if she was drunk there would be a little human frailty in the song. It's as if the band is just a concept.
My issue with GAGA is that she should at least give credit where it's due.. Lady Gaga is influenced by the old school music as she said herself and by her music, especially with her latest CD. I love her music, but come on show some respect and tell the people, you obviously were influenced by Dale with your style.

Two months later our neighborhood was being sprayed down when a cable salesman came to our door selling basic cable for $7@month. I was jumping up and down begging! Back then, I thought Dale's clear plastic bras and overtly sexual stage presence were over the top, but considering how slutty most female pop stars look today, there's something very refreshing about the sexuality that Dale portrayed back then. Her look was definitely sexual, but it was also very punk, New Wave, and futuristic. You don't see that in today's female performers.

Why is everyone arguing? Blondie formed in 1974, forming out of the Stilletoes (72/73), and had their first singles and album out in 1976. A lot of great female performers emerged out of punk/new wave. Dale had an awesome new wave look. The most extreme female performer of the early 80s was probably Wendy O. Williams with the Plasmatics,although I never saw the Sic Fucs. If it counts Wayne/Jayne County was off the wall. Personally I think Gaga is a great performer. Everything's been done.

OMG! Now this is what you call 80's! :-D I remember wanting to dye my hair this color back then and my dad would not let me. I love the 80's hair, makeup, fashion style! It was all sooo awesome! :-) I mean, look at the guys in the band, just as much makeup as the gal, and that IS 80's! It was the look and the times and it was way cool! This song itself is just so awesome! I had so much crazy and fun times then! The best memories! I just love the 80's! And now I miss it so much! :-(

Why is everyone arguing? Blondie formed in 1974, forming out of the Stilletoes (72/73), and had their first singles and album out in 1976. A lot of great female performers emerged out of punk/new wave. Dale had an awesome new wave look. The most extreme female performer of the early 80s was probably Wendy O. Williams with the Plasmatics,although I never saw the Sic Fucs. If it counts Wayne/Jayne County was off the wall. Personally I think Gaga is a great performer. Everything's been done.

@KeMoniito Back in the '80s, I thought Dale's look was over-the-top sexual, but looking at it now, I think her look was sexual without being slutty. Yes, she was a former Playboy bunny and her whole presentation was overtly sexual, but it was sexual in a very New Wave/punk/futuristic way. The current female pop stars are just slutty-looking for the sake of being slutty-looking.

Ppl these days aren't using autotune because they can't sing. They use it cuz it's unfortunately "The Sound." It makes it so even if you sing good, the track sounds even more polished. That's just the state of that Top 40 music is in for the most part. Believe me, Gaga can sing her ass off. She went to Juliard. She studied classical piano. She writes mostly all of her songs... But I LOVE DALE!! PHEW

Lady Gaga is getting hammered for the same thing Dale Bozzio, Madonna, Gwen Stafani, even in part what the Go-Go's did. They were all influenced by and eventually styled themselves after Debbie Harry.
