no its possible i had an optics export bring one into my class in grade 8, this was of a little pink plastic pig. the hologram machine was simply two like half bowl half plates mirrored on the inside stuck otgether, and the top one had a hole on the top. the pig went right onto the bottom bowl/plate and it reflected out to create a hologram above.
