Doens't matter whether you understand italian or not: I just want to say that.. sei GRANDE, VERAMENTE BRAVO, UN ASSOLUTO TALENTO... STUPEFACENTE, di INFINITA BRAVURA. Sono SENZA FIATO!!!!
@questionmark14 u can use it standalone. That said most artists tend to create the concept in maya/3dsmax & then fine touch/sculp in mudbox-but it really depends on what you want to do.
mudbox rox help me a lot. the best think of it is that u can see 3d model how it appears after redering in real time !!!! In real time u can change reflections, shadows, lights, depth of field and actualy u can paint with different filters straight on the model love it !!!

Wow, -sculpting- mechanical shape ?! Without adding too much unwanted bumps and imperfect curves... really not the proper way but it came out good ! Congrats
He's showing how to sculpt concept for pre viz. Do you know what that means? Who cares if you have a few bumps and imperfect curves. What counts is the concept of sculpting autos in Mudbox, something that I guarantee you the auto companies haven't even though about....
@plodej Because auto companies have to calculate wind resistance as well, and mudbox doesn't do that, among other things. They do more than just throw 3D concepts together and make them into cars.At least not for public cars, the ones they make for auto shows is a whole different story lol.
awesome, as before...I see the industry changing before my eyes...are you working as an automotive designer yet? You will be soon once the studios see this!

what is better: 3ds max or mudbox?
DHLT2inDark 2 years ago
they serve diferent purposes, personally, i make the model in maya and add details in mudbox
FaridHossman 2 years ago

oh, with mudbox I can't to animate
Can I to export the mudbox model to 3ds max and to animate???
thx for reply
sorry for the bad english
DHLT2inDark 2 years ago
yep :P
classic1144 2 years ago
yes but you need to export the low poly model, with retopology and normal map because you cant animate the same model (that have a lot of polygons)
Z4N4RD1N3 2 years ago
oh yeah
that have a lot polygons
mudbox is so realistic
soon I'll to install its.
DHLT2inDark 2 years ago
@DHLT2inDark
its the same family as 3dsm and maya so u can freelee import and export models between those programs
