that has got to be one of the coolest guitars i have ever seen, and it is not even shaped like a flying v. where's my peanut butter. all right, now i can enjoy this proper like. as i was saying, great guitar, it has a nice tone. i can't believe how his fingers work the strings. it is like he just waves them over and the string hits the note. magical hands. hell, the horn section doesn't even play until the finale just because of the magic, the magical hands.
@Stefandurr: All I said is that I wished kids today would listen to this kind of music instead of rap. This is great music here performed by a legend. The people you mentioned couldn't even hold his guitar strap.
John brought me here...and is Johnny "Guitar" Watson...but it is great that Mr. Mayer is sharing this with his fans as well. I know John looks up to all of these amazing musicians...I am glad you are better buddy, can't wait for the tour!
@dabrovi402 No to be obnoxious, but why does she have to be "black girl on the piano" besides the fact that they were both black, we can already see what color she is. It just annoys me when people label things with color or race whether it be black, white, purple polk-a dot whatever.
The first 78 record that I bought was "Okie Dokie Stomp". I believe it was about 1953.
Clarence Gatemouth Brown came to Dallas in the mid 80's and was at Nick's Uptown on Greenville at Martel when I went to see him. He appeared solo with just his fiddle, I was disappointed that he did not bring his guitar, even though he was great with the fiddle.
@Cometsamba Go look for some Jimmie Vaughan for some righteous capo action - as a matter of fact, Jimmie got a lot of stuff from both Gatemouth and Johnny Guitar Watson.
@MrMustang1965 Don't speak lowly of an entire genre of music. That just reveals your ignorance and lack of knowledge about Hip-Hop. There is great Hip-Hop made by great musicians/poets that don't glorify violence and drugs. It just isn't what you'd find on mainstream radio stations.
People like blu, Shad K, Lupe Fiasco and The Roots are just some of the great Hip-Hop artists working today.
Cool, really old Rickenbacker guitar. Clarence sure could play great. He threw in some "jazz" chords which are not the standard 1, 4, 5 7th chords. Check out the horn player dancing behind him. Ha!
