Many people in Western countries think that Turkey is an Islamic country that you have to obey to rules of Islam. BUT this is not true Turkey is a SECULAR country with muslim majority. You can drink alcohol, you can wear bikinis in the beaches. You DO NOT HAVE TO wear headscarf or hijab. Turks are NOT ARABS. We don't speak Arabic language here. We speak Turkish.

ok i leaved a lot of comments in videos of didem saying that she remids me something cheapy. the arabic bellydance is WAY better that this. arabic bellydance has such technique as veils, isis wings, canes etc :) I see more point in the arabic bellydance that the turkish. and yes i know that some of you will dislike me or say to me that i am wrong, but thats my opinion. well I heard alot of girls say that the whole point of belly dancing is to have a "belly" but the thing is either fat or slim can do it, Didem has a "poppable" stomach, although she's really thin, so it works for her.
Sadie is kinda like that girl rachel brice, in terms of bullshit... but rachel brice is worse, because she even had the nerve to say that bellydancing costums were inspired in Las Vegas show girls from the ´50s and try to make people believe that she invented a new form of bellydancing so called "tribal fusion" which is just a ridiculous lie, there are no new movements in tribal fusion it only turned bellydancing into a freak show with lots of marketing and production
Didem is beautiful and dances amazingly! Her body is like that of a dancer, nice, toned and slim. I think it's good that she's fit because nothing jiggles when she dances. I've seen heavier belly dancers and their jiggling body parts are distracting and take away from the dance. If you look at almost every style of dance, the dancers are slim and also dancing is a great work out so your body just becomes more fit. I personally would prefer to be slim and toned.
The ones who are telling she doesn't have the body for the bellydance you deffinetly must be Arabs. Because only an Arab can thing this way. They thing the more meat you have the better you will dance. When Arabic Belly dancers dance their fat is moving but this one is more beautiful my friend. Didem has a perfect body of that your dancers can't even have it in their dream come look at this she is 100% better dancer than thos BIG ASS BELLY DANCERS :-D

She performs for the audience, not for those men behind her. And I bet she does it for a fat pay check, and also because she loves to dance... And Karamia68, I know how it feels to have hate for someone, like feeling an anger towards them. I found that it was such a waste of my time. Me for instance, I'm a bit over weight, practise belly dance and wanna get thin; I could easily get jealous of Didem. But I choose to admire her in stead, and get inspired from her dancing. Makes me feel better! :-)

it's not about where u come from! u're the one who's spreading hate right here... being turkish(or arab, russian, american...) doesn't automatically mean that u're a good bellydancer because dance is an individual work that has nothing to do with ur origins.
Maybe the culture influences a bit but it isn't that important!
I noticed that too - she hit the first few accents early. But that's rare for her. She does do her movements in a different style than classic Egyptian, which is more coy and demure, but I've seen exaggerated, sharp movements like this before from some Turkish and Lebanese dancers. I agree there's no one form of bellydance that is "correct" as long as you are clear and honest about what you are performing.
I kind of wondered..She has one of the best bodies i have ever seen..But her belly dancing is kind of weird. It doesn't look as good as some others..Like she doesn't do it properly somehow though i don't know what the hell i am talking about because i don't know anything about belly dancing but Didem, her dancing doesn't seem the norm
i dont think there really is a "norm" for bellydance, but i think her movements sometimes seem really exaggerated and spastic like her body is possessed, while alot of other dancers keep their moves smaller and more subtle.
She doesn't claim to do Egyptian Raqs Sharqi (what some people consider "classic" belly dance)-she could never get away with showing that much inner thigh or doing those super sexy floor moves in that context! But I don't think its media pressure necessarily, just a different style in a context where its accepted. Anyway, I think she's interesting and impressive even if I don't like all the moves. I'm curious if she does all her own choreography - anybody know?

And by the way it is wery hard to know who is Gipsy (rom) only with the name of a person... Gipsyes take religion and names from the majority of people in their countries... Turkish Gipsyes have turkish names and religion.. but in Europe live Gipsyes that are cristians and have cristian names. Didem is the best no mather who she is or what is her religion :-)

I am a gipsy woman and if Didem is realy a gipsy that can be only god for her. Gipsy`s live all around the world and moustly in europe, in europe gipsyes came with turks, and there are some historical data that before turkie they live in egept. And by the way belly dance is originaly from india and actualy gipsy`s bring with them that caind of danicing form india to the rest of parts of world. but didem is an exception to most of the turkish dancers i saw, becuase she mostly dances egyptian style and to egyptian music. i even thing she seems clueless at this number. However generally i think she screws up most of her dances when she once in a while adds those needless funny hip-hop jumps and swirls.

it's not about where u come from! u're the one who's spreading hate right here... being turkish(or arab, russian, american...) doesn't automatically mean that u're a good bellydancer because dance is an individual work that has nothing to do with ur origins.
Maybe the culture influences a bit but it isn't that important!

I noticed that too - she hit the first few accents early. But that's rare for her. She does do her movements in a different style than classic Egyptian, which is more coy and demure, but I've seen exaggerated, sharp movements like this before from some Turkish and Lebanese dancers. I agree there's no one form of bellydance that is "correct" as long as you are clear and honest about what you are performing.

I kind of wondered..She has one of the best bodies i have ever seen..But her belly dancing is kind of weird. It doesn't look as good as some others..Like she doesn't do it properly somehow though i don't know what the hell i am talking about because i don't know anything about belly dancing but Didem, her dancing doesn't seem the norm

i dont think there really is a "norm" for bellydance, but i think her movements sometimes seem really exaggerated and spastic like her body is possessed, while alot of other dancers keep their moves smaller and more subtle.

She doesn't claim to do Egyptian Raqs Sharqi (what some people consider "classic" belly dance)-she could never get away with showing that much inner thigh or doing those super sexy floor moves in that context! But I don't think its media pressure necessarily, just a different style in a context where its accepted. Anyway, I think she's interesting and impressive even if I don't like all the moves. I'm curious if she does all her own choreography - anybody know?

I agree with that color of skin and back ground is not important... No mather who she is or where is she from ... she is good. And by the way it is wery hard to know who is Gipsy (rom) only with the name of a person... Gipsyes take religion and names from the majority of people in their countries... Turkish Gipsyes have turkish names and religion.. but in Europe live Gipsyes that are cristians and have cristian names. Didem is the best no mather who she is or what is her religion :-)

Gipsyes in Serbia also dance bely dance as a caind of traditional dance. I just wonted to say that Didem is a bueatiful and whell praticed dancer and has a big quality, no mather is she is Gipsy, turkish, arab... And a Turkie shuld be proud of her, becuse she is artist and she is magical to lok at, and if she said that she is gipsy, Turkie must be also proud of her... becouse in a lot of europe`s country`s gipsyes are citisens of a lower class, and europeans don`t actualy like gipsy`s.

I am a gipsy woman and if Didem is realy a gipsy that can be only god for her. Gipsy`s live all around the world and moustly in europe, in europe gipsyes came with turks, and there are some historical data that before turkie they live in egept. And by the way belly dance is originaly from india and actualy gipsy`s bring with them that caind of danicing form india to the rest of parts of world. Now bely dance has a lot of diferent cainds, and it is formed trough the centuries.

Tahron, No one would be claiming a skinny 14-yrs old body dancer as anyone's own.Appraently ibrahim is depriving her from eating kabab. And since u profess to know arab belly dancers, u would know no arab would call him self dodo or didem or whatever, so i am sure those who said she is arab are not arabs.Arab belly dancers r world famous unlike turkish dancers who dances like those in the circus with gorillas and elephants, it is not bellydancing it is more a primitive form of cirque du soleil.

but didem is an exception to most of the turkish dancers i saw, becuase she mostly dances egyptian style and to egyptian music. i even thing she seems clueless at this number. However generally i think she screws up most of her dances when she once in a while adds those needless funny hip-hop jumps and swirls.
