  • Add another inspiration. look up Blake Richardson

  • @OoDistortedHarpoO Oh, yea! Brandon actually has already "upgraded" to Blake (and BTBAM). Search for "Brandon Scott Drums" and you'll find his covers of "White Walls", "Obfuscation", and "Prequel To The Sequel". Blake Richardson friggin' rocks!

  • @LorenScott69 O/h lol i didnt know this was him my bad, yeah ive seen his covers. and i love the accurate use of the word upgrade :D

  • SHIT HE OWNS OCTOBANS!! D: I NEED SOME OF THEM :)

  • good job

  • Having a parent to buy you a kit has nothing to do with skill. He would be just as talented on a standard kit.

  • ummm the force is strong with this one

  • EMO

  • what was thaaaaatt?...hey man, send your demos to all the big bands arround the world...you got the perfect skills...you got the future fixed... wow that was awesome.... i m impacted...

  • what chinas are those

  • @logansdrums The Chinas are Wuhans.

  • He does a decent job with the odd time signatures but it is very important that along with playing them he also understands them. It's easy to figure odd rhythms and time signatures but it's a whole new world when you can understand them.

  • @PearlDrumsAllDay94 That is true. And, yes, he does understand them too. :)

  • a bit chopy here and there but as he gets older it will flow more. good job.

  • @JewLoco He's older now. Check out his current videos -- search for "Brandon Scott Drums" or look under his own account, BrandonScottDrums.

  • Ow I got dirt in my eye.

  • Give the boy new drumheads!

  • very good!

  • Ok is this kid edorsing somebody....he should be sponsored or endorsing Tama. That is one way to do things. He has potential to be great.

  • I like your drum moustache! ;)

  • @shhharas Ha ha! I never realized it before, but the weather stripping we put on his drum heads to deaden the overtones does look like a mustache! Ha ha!

  • @LorenScott69 dude your the next neil peart good shit man

  • What is that china on his left side from his position?

  • @Kuurapirtu It was a cheap Wuhan China (16", I think. He doesn't have it anymore). It actually sounded pretty good for the price.

  • Very good, but i think many kids would be as good as him if they get such a great drum set and a dad who buys that.

    But anyway hes very talented

  • @HardcorePeter10 It's not about having great equipment. It's about desire and the amount of time that is dedicated to doing whatever it is you want to get good at. And you can accomplish that on equipment that is not very expensive.

  • alot of splash!:D love their sound too (y)

  • he's extremely good!! but my question is, HOW DOES HE GET OUT OF THERE??!!

that thing is like so damn big lol

  • Fuck Yea!!!

    You are fucking good man!

  • This is awesome!

  • your kid is lucky as hell i wish i had a drum set to that standard at his age....he needs new heads haha pretty sure u already covered that

  • fucking sick dude...cant even imagine you when your 30.

  • From one drummer to another, I think the way your son sets up his kit is quite uncomfortable for him. I think he could get more dynamics out of his set but putting the drums closer together and at the same angle, except for the octobans, of course. IMO

  • @DrumBum561 Thanks for the the comment. Although, I am curious how you would be able to tell what is uncomfortable for HIM. I have played on a lot of other drummers sets and, while I thought that some of their configurations were uncomfortable for ME, it would seem that it was comfortable for THEM. So... that just seems like an odd observation to me. Wouldn't you agree that every drummer feels the most comfortable with their drums configured in a way that is unique to their own style?

  • @LorenScott69 yes. i was merely stating what i observed. it looked difficult for him to move back and forth from the ride to another cymbal (e.g. hihat), therefore i made my statement. im not trying to force anything on him, just trying to help.

  • @DrumBum561 No worries. We do appreciate the feedback. I was just not clear on your comment. Sorry. He has actually been playing so long now and has evolved his set configuration into one that is the most efficient for him. I can't play on his set without rearranging stuff to fit my style, but that setup works for him. So, I feel "whatever works". :)

  • @DrumBum561 I would agree with you.

  • WOW, UNBELIEVABLE o___o

  • My two fav drummers too! your great kiddo. hope to see you in the next great Progressive band.

  • niice dude! :)

  • lol thx man do u drum and if soo wat r ur influences so i can check em out??? I just woke up and i dont feel like leaving the house right now sooo im bored

  • awesome! you'll be a legend one day.

  • cool set

  • Effin' rich people....It was nice though.

  • We're actually pretty poor... :( That drum set was bought with funds partly from selling my old drum set, plus a collection of Christmas money that Brandon got from various relatives. But, hopefully, one day, Brandon's talents will make HIM rich! :)

  • how many christmas did he save up haha so i can do it to. Your not poor your middle class im poor i live in a trailer haha.

  • @LorenScott69

Well...on top of that, that kid must have the best paying paper route around...

I'm looking at about $1600 (at least) worth of cymbals, and even if he bought that kit at a once-in-a-lifetime low price...it had to have been at least $1300...and then throw all that hardware on top of that. Man, I wish I was "poor" enough to afford a $3000 kit...

  • The main set is the Tama Rockstar model, which is not a very hi-end model. But, I photographed a wedding for a guy who works for Tama, and he got us the set for wholesale, plus special pricing on the 13' tom that is not part of the base set. The 2 Octabons were mine from my old drum set, as were the 2nd set of cheap high hats on the right side. The other cymbals and firecracker snare, Brandon did get with his own money. He earns money offering drum lessons -- no paper route. :)

  • you play with your ride way far back. isnt that uncomfortable?

  • Nice Job!!!!

  • Niiicccee!!!! looks like ive got to step up my game!

  • Must be the best kid ever to have a sick recording studio and decked out drums. I wonder how many thousands that must've cost...

  • For real lol

  • nice

  • excellent this is way further than what a normal 14yr old can achieve

  • amazing!

  • I'm not worthy!! Awesome job dude!

  • Very nice! If you keep up this work you'll be a huge musician some day.

  • whoa...awosme

  • What is the cymbal above the main bass drum? It looks like two cymbals stacked. What are they?

  • Yes, it is a Sabian 12" splash upside down over a Wuhan 14" china.

  • good work, but take my advice, you should have your hihat closer and your motion could be faster...

  • Excelente trabajo!!!

    Muy bueno!

    Felicitaciones!!!

  • very good man!

  • holy mole...

this makes me feel like the biggest failure in history.

  • RESPECT Brandon, continue your good work! I loved it!

  • Nicely done kid!! Keep working on that double bass. You couldn't pick two better influences than Peart and Portnoy. Neil was a big influence of MP.

  • el caurito seko wn hahahaha

  • estas deforme compa

  • I wish my dad would be like that buying me all those shiny toys.

  • Go, go, go, go, go.......great talent!!!

Two (three:-) of the best drummers ever

  • your lucky to have that kit and play area.

  • Brilliant!

  • wish i couldve started drums that young. good job dude.

  • Yeah Really good!

    You rock

  • Of course he had to see I'm 14 lol. But yeah amazing medley.I want to put one together myself. Of dream theater that is.

  • Great job dude, that was sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, and can you please tell me what chinas you're using?

  • The chinas are by Wuhan -- affordable and cheap. All other cymbals are by Sabian.

  • What size china's and also what kind of stands did you use? Also your son is very talented, and has a great taste in music.

  • The chinas are 18", 16", and 12". The 12" one has a 10" Sabian splash on it upside down. The stands are a mix of Tama and no-name brands.

  • Wow, you did great! And a wonderful choice of songs. I'd love to hear more!

  • Awesome!

  • I have to say, definately got your rush down, DT's hard for anyone, im sure Portnoy even has some trouble with some of the stuff that he plays. Just keep practicing man, and you'll get everything down in a heartbeat! :)

  • dude. More amazing than otter pops. 'nuff said.

  • NIce man!
