  • I can see your point about TMWTGG, but I still think that at least that movie had coherent editing and photography, which made it less headache inducing that DAD. DAD is equally as poor, but it just doesn't feel like a Bond film at all. Reviews at the time claimed that the producers were influenced by the Vin Diesel film 'XXX', which I haven't seen. Take your point about DAD making TWINE look good. Brosnan wasn't well served by the producers choices.

  • Everything or Nothing was the last part of the official series for me, Willem Dafoe was a great Bond villain and it just felt like a proper Bond movie, even though it was a game

  • @Chewy2nd Of the first official series even

  • love all the brosnan films he needs to return as bond fuck the new guy

  • I love the Movie. This and Goldeneye

  • I'd like to say that Die Another Day and TMWTGG are tied for the worst Bond films, in my opinion.

  • I actually do very much enjoy this movie. You're right the first half is what kept this movie alive for so long, everything up to Cuba, and for me personally, even the initial ice palace scenes. My problem is the CGI and the lack of focus on the two Koreas. The CGI is not played out well in the climax and outside of Jinx's fight with Miranda, the plane sequences are clumsy. Hell, North and South Korea are hardly referenced by name in the climax; not a good sign.

  • acutally his swan song was the video game Everything or Nothing

  • brosnan did not quit he was fired

  • Good car chase and sountrack, but thats about it

  • This movie had great potental, the begining was great and the story was great as well but it got way to flassy and over the top which desrtoyed it, its to bad it could have been one of the best Bond movies.

  • Yeah, this is definitely the weakest of Brosnan's Bond entries, but I thougt it was still good fun. I mean all the Bond actors have had their good and bad movies, and I thought Brosnan's first three movies were excellent--so not a bad track record. Overall, I think Brosnan made a great Bond, and was quite instrumental in reviving the franchise--I think Cassandra would have been proud. I just wish he could have done one more to have a more lengthy run like Connery and Moore had.

  • DAD actually had one of the best plots(Bond Wise) of the Pierce era. The idea of a villain joining the enemy to destroy it was pretty interesting, also i like the idea of Graves basing his persona on Bond. It's just to bad the film was so over the top and cheesy.

  • Brosnan did not want to go! They re cast!

  • i don't understand how ppl think this is the best when there are so many other bonds that are better, most other bonds. one of the main things i like about the film is that it was the 40th anniversary of bond films (since 1962 anyway) and that they included things from every other bond film i especially like the 'old relics' scene. i only found out not long ago that miranda was gonna be call gala brand from the moonraker novel. your dead right when the film could of been so much better :)

  • what a horrible film... thank god daniel craig revived the series!

  • its not terrible. sure as hell wasnt the best. but i enjoyed watching boned kill some commies again.

  • This movie ist worse than TMWTGG. Lee Tamahori is just a retard.

Casino Royale was in comparison fucking awesome.

  • i think the absolute worst bond film in the series is moonraker because its so unrealistic!!

  • @Freddie291 fuck you

  • @Tworonnies1 Good one, you come up with that on your own or did your momma help you? The movie sucked, and apparently so do you.

  • @NecroVMX But then Casino and Quantum sucked even worse.

  • @SPINOSAURUSKING You lie.

  • @NecroVMX No, it's the truth. A lie would be saying Daniel Craig is a good bond. Ha, he plays it so bad it's almost funny.

  • @SPINOSAURUSKING I thought Craig was a great Bond! Though, thats just my opinion. Daniel plays the character a lot like the book which is a plus for me.

  • what is the matter with this guy Die Another Day is one of the best Bond films ever!

  • @Tworonnies1 Rofl, it was terrible. You're probably one of only 10 people who liked it. But hey that's fine, I don't say stupid shit like "what is the matter with this guy" just because you disagree, that'd be being a major dick.

    Like you just did.

  • @NecroVMX we all agree this has to be one of the worst ever

  • @NecroVMX I think they should get Shirley Bassey to sing the theme song for one of the future Bond films. Madonna had too much of a manufactured tone to her.

  • @Tworonnies1 die another day was pathetic

  • @Tworonnies1 you are not well

  • Comment removed

  • DAD was so awful i like to think that the videogame 007 everything or nothing was brosnans last outing coz its like a movie.

  • come on give die another day a bit of credit it wasn't the best but it was alright

  • @RYANarcade no it wasn't

  • How dare your criticize Roger Moore for being old. He never would have got caught and spent a year and half in a NK prison camp. He would have raised an eyebrow, said a sexually suggestive comment and would have shagged his way out of it. He's still got it. Plus his car turned into to a fucking sub, far cooler than making it invisible. Bad choice. Bring back the lotus.

  • It's weird. All Pierce Brosnan movies are very bad, but he's my favorite James Bond.

  • You are wrong NecroVMX Brosnan did not quit. EON dropped him in order to reboot the franchise and Pierce was openly pissed about the decision to drop him. He obviously loved the role and was in great shape to continue. He could have had another couple of films in him, but thankfully they did reboot the series resulting in a much refreshing change with Daniel Craig. Role on the next one.

  • @paulod27 Nope, it's you who are wrong, he "quit" as a negotiating ploy to get more money

  • The Invisible car turned me off as well. That bad ass Bond chick Is a cute little hottie.

  • I enjoyed it as well, and I actually thought it was better than The World is Not Enough. But even so, it isn't hard to see why it can be considered the worst of the series (though, I believe that honor belongs to On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Sorry, but I was bored to tears with that movie).

  • I still thinks that this movie is the best in series

  • @95Spelix it seriously concerns me that this comment has 50 thumbs up.

  • @RyanDahlReturns Me too. This film was terrible.

  • @95Spelix ur kidding ri ?

  • the part where the main bad guy dresses up like the rocketeer with a nintendo power glove fighting bond on the antonov at the end still cracks me up to no end.

  • Completely agree with this review. "Die Another Day" is, to me, is like the "Batman & Robin" of Bond films and almost made me give up on the series for good. Thank God for "Casino Royale".

  • @benway20 I apologize for this outburst and going against your beliefs but...THANK GOD?! If god thanked us we wouldn't have that horrible movie along with Quantom of Solace. They both are pure shit. Die another day may not have been the best in the series but God knows it's stil 75,030 times better than Casino and Quantom combined.

  • @benway20 You must be wrong if you getting that hostile. The big difference is Die another day is 007. I don't know who that blond wannabe in Casino and Quantum (Sorry for misspelling) is but he sure as hell, isn't 007.

  • @SPINOSAURUSKING read the books, you might (and probably) change your mind

  • This movie would have been terrific if it were Bond as a rogue agent chasing Zal in order to clear his name.

  • Started off good but then went downhill real fast. That's my concise review.

  • @leeboy26 also would be a correct one

  • worse bond film of the modern day 95-present

  • Die another day is the worst bond for me quite easily, hated it when u seen it... Its just horrible thinking about it >,<

Btw great reviews Necro i have watched all your bond one's :)

  • Pierce Brosnan didnt quit being Bond after Die Another Day. He wasnt hired.

  • I really enjoy your review series on here and I agree with your feelings on most of the films. But I'd have to respectfully disagree with this one. I actually did enjoy this. Maybe because it was the first bond film I ever saw, and it got me into the series. Although I do have to say, after getting into it and collecting the old movies, this one definitely moved down a little bit on my list.

  • Brosnan probable stay for one more movie. But they wanted to go back with the series at the beginning and Brosnan was too old.

  • A better and useful name for this movie is "BUY another day"

  • i just cant stand the brosnan series because thay were in no way really related to the books

  • i loved the first part of the movie and song by madonna

  • So poor I've only watched it once. Brosnan didn't retire, he was 'let go' by the producers partly due to age and partly due to wanting to make a radical change in the series. Was Dougary Scott being cast as Bond after DAD only a rumour? I hated the editing and the inappropriate use of rock songs.

  • DAD better then TMWTGG? You must be on drugs when you made this video:P

  • Madonna does the theme tune and appears in it as a fencing instuctor! There's a supposedly invisible car! It's a load of old crap! CRAP!

    CRAP!

  • @maxdioful HAHA!

  • Bond, what did they do to you?I hate this movie!!

  • Well the way I look at it.

Die another Day > Quantum of Solace and Cashino Royale.

  • @Katrinaprime If you like looking at it wrong i suppose.

  • @NecroVMX What do you mean looking

at it wrong?! She's looking at it perfectly right!!! Daniel Craig couldn't play Bond to save his life!! Plus in his crappy films there's No Gadgets, No Q, No Moneypenny, The villans suck, and the plots are so intangible!!!

  • @SamanthaVoorhees read the books,

  • @NecroVMX Die Another Day and Quantum both sucked. Casino was awesome thought. No way was DAD better.

  • @NecroVMX dude....the new Bond films suck ass. period. sorta why MGM is now in the shitter selling themselves off cuz they're broke as fuck

  • @Katrinaprime

No, I completely agree with that. The next 2 movies after this one sucked, and Daniel Craig is not a good bond. Pierce Brosnan hit the role perfectly with Sean Connery coming in at a very close second with every other bond pretty mediocre at best. Die Another Day was one of the best bond films though, in my book.

  • u should do a review on everything or nothing it is part of thes series no other bond game has had better product values grade A cast including pierce himself to voice bond and the plot is a good one and it had a good intro

  • All flash no substance sums this film up to me. Entering the noughties shat over a hell of a lot of stuff, luckily casino royale was the reboot the series again needed, and shat all over again with quantum of soliace...

  • Die Another Day is a huge guilty pleasure for me. The movie's logic is incredibly stupid and there are tons of ridiculous moments, but there are some really great action sequences. Lots of memorable moments and a lot better than TWINE in my opinion.

    Brosnan films IMO:

    1.) Goldeneye

    2.) Tomorrow Never Dies

    3.) Die Another Day

4.) The World Is Not Enough

  • If you start with "most dumbest" it automatically invalidates everything you say, muttley.

Face it, this movie is hated. If you really think "everyone loved it" then stay away from metacritic and rotten tomatos, (or read any of the other comments on this video) you'll probably off yourself after discovering everything you knew is a lie.

PS: There isn't a Santa Claus, hat eto break it to you.

  • @NecroVMX muttley looooooool. what is the guy a dog....

  • @aziz2085 Nice grammar sports fan.

  • This is another one of those "Love it or hate it" Bonds.

Surprised you didn't mention how similar the Diamonds Are Forever laser satelite was to the Icarus.

Good points about the action scenes which I never thought of. I always kinda liked this one but never quite knew why so many hated it. Thank you for the insight.

"Madonna is there for some reason" sums it up exactly. Shes to provide pseudo lesbian overtones I think, and her song sucks in this one.

  • Also it's the 20th movie the 23rd will be after quantum of solace

  • It's the 23rd. There's 22 movies in my playlist before it, that'd be a big hint.

  • I think what he was getting at was that this is the official 20th movie. But yeah, most of us get what you mean..... At least i think! Anyway, good job as always! =)

  • trebor3189's right, sorry about being confusing

  • Why does the evil lazer seem to be from diamonds are for ever? The vilian changing his appearence, but that never happens! And why the fuck does Zhou have preadator vision in his car? Who the fuck would think that up?

Over all this movie is fucking stupid but fucking entertaining

  • I think this's been one of the best Bond movies ever!

  • I know, Die Another Day has many haters but I found it really not bad. Yes, the storyline and visual effects looked too unrealistic but this is "New Era" Bond movie which shows new technological progress. Pierce Brosnan was great though. Toby Stephens was great villain too. I love Halle Berry but she wasn't that good. Rosamund Pike was OK.

I adore Madonna's theme song - really unique and memorable!!! She should have had more screen time in this movie.

  • Movies with Madonna suck, look at swept away. That was awful

  • Not all Madonna's movies were bad.

Evita, Dick Tracy, Dangerous Game, Desperately Seeking Susan and A League of Their Own were really great. Swept Away wasn't that bad too.

All MAriah Carey and Beyonce movies are really crap

  • I'd prefer you don't include me in your sexual fantasies.

  • I didn't think it was that bad. It has a vastly different feel to the other Brosnan Bonds (more summer action flick than traditional bond movie). It was a fun film, nothing special, but it certainly wasn't dire. Interestingly enough, critics actually liked the film (to an extent) when it was first launched.

  • Die Another Day is so shit! I was half way through this flim (up to the bit where bond is in that hotel) and i thought 'oh christ this is so boring! I can't re-watch this mess

  • Literally the worst Bond movie I've ever seen. I don't think it even deserves a 3/10. People who say 'A view to a kill' and 'You only live twice' are the worst bond movies clearly haven't seen this movie before.

  • Please people make me understand why the hell people say this movie is bad/Sucks !

    Why tell me

  • I really liked it.

  • The part where Brosnan jumps off the ice cliff using the sportscar is the most realistic and believable thing I've ever see. I love how it isn't camp at all and how it shows that the director has a real true genuine respect for the Bond series. And I also really appreciate the respect that the director has for his audience. All in all, a fantastic movie that is definitely not aimed at 2 year olds or retards. Nice job guys, Sean Connery would be proud.

  • u suk dae aducther di is a good movei

  • I don't speak stupid, please post in english

  • i do like this movie but it does have quite a few of retarded parts like when Zaho is running from bond and bond shoots everything around him but cant hit him.

then later he shoots the F*cking smallest thing in the world which kills zaho...

i *really* like how Graves dies though.

  • i actually liked the movie a lot im a big fan of plotless stupid movies that have decent action scenes i thot the action was pretty good and i thought the gadgets were cool so i didnt hate the movie i actually liked it a little

  • Die another day is a shit film. The only good Pierce Brosnan film was 'tomorrow never dies'

  • I wanna say, though I do not like Brosnan, he did not decide to quit. He describes himself as being fired from the role. He later appeared on Jonothan Ross and told him that he was angry when he got the call, believing he had enough in him for another film.

Also, you should have brought up the parachute tidal wave sequences....

  • Good review

  • the blades club was really stupid but the opening sequence and the end on the DMZ was cool.

  • The best part of this film was the first 15 minutes lol and I agree, my least fav is also TMWTGG, then DAF, and then this mess

  • Comment removed

  • 4. Get fucked for spamming me.

  • Love the reviews

  • I haven't seen this movie in 7 years. I've been wondering lately if it's as bad as I remember. This review basically restates my opinion as it was in 2002.

  • Halle Berry's lines all seem to be so painfully forced in this flick. Especially in the scene where her character and Bond first meet.

  • Oh okay, sorry I couldnt find them at first. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • are you gonna do reviews on Casino Royale and Quantum?

  • I don't understand why you're asking me that when I already did them.

  • Derek Flint (from the movies that I mentioned a while back) can stop his heart, as well. His watch somehow causes it to start beating again. XD

  • Good review, and I agree with a lot of what you said.

One thing, though, is this movie died for me right after the theme song. Call me an idiot if you want (I've called myself worse for thinking this because even I know it's a stupid point of contention) but I just can't accept that the N. Koreans COULD hold Bond for 14 months.

Also, I think they did the invisible car since that was one of the gadgets in the game "Everything or Nothing," (which really is a good game, by the way).

  • Yeah fuck this movie, and Halle Berry.

  • If Penguins ever attacked the world, I'd probably hide in a Tanning Booth or something

  • One more comment---

Hallie Berry is usually pretty. In this movie she's so plain shes like another guy... and watching Bond hit on her is slightly disgusting.

  • Also, Madonna's song just sucks a donkey.

  • This movie was dreadful... but mainly once they were in that Ice place. It was so bad at that point that it was like an explosion in a disney factory --- a total screwed up cartoon.

Weirdly, the beginning was so good... it was the best beginning of all the movies. So.. this Bond has the distinction of being the movie that started out the highest and ending the lowest.

Did Michael Bay direct this? Because he is one director who can snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

  • lol, you're right about Michael Bay. His movies tend to start off well but then deteriorate (The Island anyone?).

This movie was such crap but I still think TWINE is worse.

  • I still think TWINE is worse.

    ----

Nah... The only thing REALLY bad about TWINE is Christmas Jones. Every time she was on the screen, it was like the film dropped down to 15 MPH on a German Highway.
