just started watching and noticed the FFXI token on the right.

Vol Dwn, Call, Power (recovery mode) with an SD card with the stock.tar file on it. Use the touch D pad to scroll. File Browser>sdcard (scroll down list has more further) > go till you find your stock.tar. It will install and said to restart then booted up to 2.1 and started updating to 2.2. Gonna try with other tar files I got.

I've read various things that you have to go back to stock everything before you do this? Guys, a couple of things (learned from experience)

1.) It is NOT sufficient for you to install SWUpdate.exe. You MUST run the patcher (trust me I found out the hard way)

2.) If you DON'T run the patcher (as described above) you WILL run into 2 problems

a.) "cannot open bin file"

b.) must rename the .tar file to the exact same name (including .md5) that shipped with SWUpdater

Folks those of you getting cannot open/find bin file you need to RENAME the .tar to EXACTLY what it was before. the upgrade.exe has it hard-coded so you have to fool it into thinking you didn't change .tar on it.

That being said, I am now running into a "completed flash" message but it doesn't actually do anything or reboot the phone. Any clue how to fix that?

Excuse Me, I having a problem connecting to computer and mac running window. I have three usb cord for this phone and everytime I tried to connect to computer or mac, it say that USB Device is not recogonized. What works for me is to connect my phone to my pc while it's off and then power it on. It will then recognize my phone. This works for XP and Windows 7. If I connect while the computer is on then I get the "usb device is not recognized" message. Hope this helps anyone experiencing the same problem.
