  • do the five finger excersice from the etudes!!! i'm doing it for my exam and i'd love to hear it played by someone whose better than me! i.e....anyone!!!

  • The composer must have been high.

  • Martin, whole tone glissando at the end, WOWOWOWOWOWOW awesome my friend!

  • @gwhizofto Thanks Michael! Here's a keyboard glissando: 1234567890 !

  • this music sounds joyful and creepy all in one

  • "Random keys"? OMG, learn musical terms please.

  • guys, its a etude for a GOD DAMN REASON

  • That's way too perfect to not be on really, really soft keys. Listen to the expression he applies towards the end; in order to do it that perfectly, it'd have to be soft, because that's the stage where you just can't slide your finger along the keyboard, the keys won't move. It doesn't matter how hardy and tough your fingers are, you need a certain type of piano.

  • @Epsilon346 I agree with your comment. You can only do glissandos like that if you have the right piano. I could not play that piece on my Kawai!. Incidentally there is a good etude on glissandi by the British composer York Bowen.

  • Your glissando is very beautiful and perfect.

  • Wonderful playing. I met Virgil Thomson (no P in his name, by the way) in 1980, a couple years before he died. He talked about this etude specifically, it was for a guy who wanted to build his stamina for glissandi. But, the guy said it hurt too much to play it! You pulled it off great, though! Thanks for sharing this!

  • O.O

  • all that i could say is "OUCH!" xD

  • doing that always hurts my fingers.... however he is sliding over the sharps and flats as well is beyond me

  • wow.

i love how well the glissandos flow into the song.

    like.

    they dun stand out o.o

and i love his expression lolz

  • I've always seen piano as a beautiful way to express yourself. But I never realized it could make you laugh! Awezome-nessism. :D

  • that was funny! But still very impressive =). You can sound sloppy, but a sloppy thats hard to intentionally do.

  • Very interesting piece. Sounds contemporary. Excellent performance :)

  • that was amazing :]

  • you rulez man!

  • show me a monkey that can play the piano like martin leung, please.

in fact, show me another human that can play the piano as well as he does.

those are called glissandos. it's not a random banging of keys, and until you learn the difference are you really qualified to be going around pissing on other people's genius?

    no, i don't think so.

  • My opinion is of no importance to you or MML... i absolutly love his Mario Medley... so back off... i understand hes a genuis... cant even remember what I wrote on here... ah well... still dont like it... WHO THE FUCK CARES!!!! He looks EXTEREMLY happen when he does this, so does it matter if one person doesnt like it?!? No it doesnt

  • Id rather not... i would bet it hurts really bad and it would be a horrible habit to start

  • I would love to hear Jerry Lee Lewis play this one! :-D

  • Damn, these are some horrible comments. I think the song is fine. It's all about how you feel when you play it. As long as you're having fun and enjoy it, everything becomes a masterpiece. You are truly talented. Please keep up the amazing work!

  • wtf XD this is rly a song i can only imagine when some iz drunk XD

  • he should try and play the caramelldansen song

  • this is martin leung thats playing,

  • That was the point...

  • MM, you play really well. However, the song is a bit weird.

  • Now play it blindfolded! I love the way you present yourself Martin. I like hearing you play classical pieces as well. Your buddy Gabriel

  • Martin Leung and his Fingers Of Steel!!! xD This looks so painful, it makes the fingers of amateurs like me twitch. A lot.

    But you played stupendously.

I've heard many more beautiful pieces, but it's played wonderfully. And you could make me listen to anything :P
