The problem I am having is the speech recognition window disappeared and I can't find help to get it back. I've tried all the tips within my software and it is not accepting commands nor showing during a chess game.
Go to system preferences then click speech. After that, go to the speech recognition tab and click "off" on speakable items. I had the same problem with that and couldn't get it off for a week! ^^
It can actually be any word you like. And obviously you're not going to be saying command after command. But you can also have it so you just need to hold down one of the keys.
you dont havre to say mac all the time... its diferent options.. one is to hold down a key.. other is to say a word of your choice and third it listens continuesly so you just say and it will do...... but one problem with that is that if your talking to someone, your mac might think that you told it command and do something when you dont want it to... so most people either choose the keyword option or the key option....
I am writing this comment from MacSpeech I love this application it is around 85% accurate how do you do the switch between applications I would like to know thank you
Um...all the people with carpal tunnel, those with movement disorders, those with paralyzed or missing limbs, peopl. It can also save time versus mousing. Eeesh!
I've used both, and to be honest, I think the one in Vista is much better. You don't have to say "Vista/PC [do this]" You just have to say [do this]. You can also put up numbered square tiles on your screen so you can pinpoint exactly what should be clicked.
Also I see that Vista gets most of my words that I say, and brings up a good list of words when it's not quite sure. Then remembers that. Not the same for OS X.
you can set it to no have mac/"do this". although it can become annoying, if you have it on all the time if you play music it will get random messages from it i.e "close itunes" can get annoying :)
It seems like it's Simon says, but in this case it's "Mac Says". it's like Mac do this, Mac do that but if you don't say "Mac" it doesn't do anything. o_O.
No, it's been on there earlier than Mac OS 9. It's been on there since the Quadra 700, and I first used it on my '96 Performa. It's dead. I have to fix it w/ new hardware. I am a computer WHIZ. I'm not a technician, though.
