  • Was this a Super Bowl 22 commercial?

  • great commercial.

  • This ad is awesome! Love the imagery and the action, Can you imagine a car commercial today where they are shooting and blowing things up! Wow, great song too. The Reagan era sure had a lot more optimism, you can feel it in this ad.

  • Cadillac: The car to buy, as long as you're affluent and white.

  • @colenbrak Actually I would wager if it wasn't for Black people GM would have stopped making Cadillacs a long time ago. And if it wasn't for China, GM would no longer be making Buicks. If you ask me it would seem that minorities have better taste in vehicles than white people, who all seem to want to buy Ford or Chevy Trucks and SUVs for some lame reason. Minorities have more class and style than white people.

  • @BigSCTVfan2 sure. but there is only one person in the entire commercial that is not white, which is my point.

  • @colenbrak Sorry for missing your point!

  • My grandma had an black cadillac when I was young and we'd always say, "Cadillac, Cadillac, Cadillac STYLE!!!"

  • This is so going on my iPod...

  • Comment removed

  • I remember when my uncle bought his Seville, he was jingling his "Gold Cadillac Key" in front of my other uncle (his brother) while singing this song...kind of taunting him but in a playful way.....just a funny memory from my childhood lol.

  • This tune will not leave my head. Also, the explosion scene near the end cracked me up. I don't think Caddy when I think sweaty demolition workers.

  • Is there anywhere I can get the song in better quality? I love it!

  • never thought I'd see a montage for yuppies until now. god bless cadillacs

  • Did i see racist comment in here, black's could and still can afford a cadillac it depends on what kind of job's black folks have but we know what the cadillac is for, it's for rich folk's who spend the money taking care of the car's like in cadillac brakes rim's electronic components in a cadillac

  • ahhh...commercials from my childhood....Im 28 and ive been a proud owner of caddys since 2003...all 80's and 90's caddys...three two door fleetwood broughams....two of those were 84s and current two door is an 81....one 1984 four door fleetwood...one 1992 coupe DeVille, and another current car is my 1993 fleetwood brougham...I love 80's caddys the most

  • Amazing music

  • Did you see the Cimarron in there?! At :50! It's there!! Though they only showed it for two seconds. Just goes to show how much they liked their own car. I love Cadillac today, but wow. They've come a long way. Especially from this B-Roll commercial. If you have a Cadillac, you can do all the things other rich people do!!

  • who song this video and who composed the music

  • The singer sounds like Billy Ocean

  • Why is there no black people in any of these commercials?

  • @ShepperdW We didn't come out until 89

  • @ShepperdW There was no black people in the 80's.

  • Brings back the 80's. Nice tone.

  • This may have been the high-water mark for Cadillac (and maybe all of GM) advertising in the 80s and 90s. A simply great piece of music, one they could still be using a variation of today (imagine it combined with Kate Walsh), and some pretty interesting visuals -- the blonde in the shades, the girl on the roof of the car who later pulls the guy into the back seat, the blasting timed perfectly with the music -- a very well-done ad. If only the cars were as good.

  • @ab348 I agree, this commercial had a lot more emotion than you'd think.

  • @ab348 I noticed that in the late 80s GM had great jingles for all of their brands. The Pontiac "We Build Excitement" one was the best of them all. Back then car commercials were more exciting. These days car commercials are way too low-key and boring, placing more emphasis on gas mileage and how environment-friendly they are rather than the thrill of driving their cars.

  • Sorry to say, but Cadillacs in this time period aren't anywhere near as elegant as the ones older than these. Especially the Seville and Eldorado in this time period. I don't know what they were thinking.

  • The singer sounds like Billy Ocean.

  • EVERYONE LOVES CTS-V !!!! LOVES !!!!!

  • I have a 1988 cadillac deville coupe in mint condition. I love it as it is truly a luxury car. It beats the new cars any day! Since it has 4.8 v8 engine it likes to go fast. I use the cruise on the road. A great great car!

  • My Father directed this commercial he said if you have any questions, ask.

  • @stretchfooty Also in the clip where the girl pulls the guy in the back of the Fleetwood isn't that Fleetwood an 87 year model because it didn't have the 4.5 liter v8 logo under the Fleetwood sign?

  • @stretchfooty Ru serious?!

  • @rockerdriver Yes I am serious, haha. My Father made this commercial, I was really surprised as well because I have never seen any of his work, but I really like this one.

  • @stretchfooty Really? This ad is awesome.

  • My Father directed this commercial he said if you have any questions, ask.

  • @stretchfooty what city was this commercial done? How many brands of Cadillacs did they have in this commercial?

  • @stretchfooty Seriously? Which advertising agency came up with the concept - and jingle. I loved these ads!

  • i love this commercial ^^

  • I love this commercial. Ok the visuals are a little generic but the theme is spot-on invigorating.

Commercials aren't this inspirational anymore. Nowadays they're all cynical, or trying to be funny, but just look dumb.

  • My fav was the baby Seville

  • there's a cimarron in 0:51?

  • Ive owned 15 cars, one of which was 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. I loved this commercial back in 1988.

  • I inherited a 1993 Cadillac Sedan de Ville from my aunt who has passed on. It sat in a garage for 9 years. Before her health failed she only drove the care twice. The car went to Miami 2 times. This car only has 10,000 miles on it. I knew that it was going to have issues took it to a Cadillac dealer to get work done on it and took it to get detailed and it looks better than the new ones. Believe me it is a diamond in the rough. The ONLY way to travel is Cadillac Style!!!!!!

  • I have owned two 1988 Deville Sedans, the latest had a waterpump and radiator die last year, got the parts, put in the radiator, no further luck, it won't run and I have to sell for $125 bucks to a scrap dealer, DAMN! I am so PO'd about that

  • My first car was a 1972 Cadillac. Therefore when I D

  • I loved that song when I was a kid!!

  • They need to make more commercials like this one!

  • when i was about 8 years old my grandfather bought an 87 coupe de ville white with tan leather the car was so pretty he had over 180,000 miles on the 4100 and when it finally died no mechanic could even believe it made it to that

  • 1988 level had the highest regular options list, and added the 4.5 liter FWD

  • Very hip - Very Eighties! Cool "babes". So this car division is for rich white people, it seems. Good music, though. Poor Cimarron, never taken seriously, even by its manufacturer.

  • I love the Brougham at 0:52-0:56

  • Same!

  • sad that even cadillac was ashamed of the cimarron in 88 when it was at its best. it spent more time on the dinosaur brougham in the commercial. Nevertheless i haver a place in my heart for the cimarrron. Im on my search now for one.

  • The Brougham deserved more time because it was a much better car overall. The Cimarron was a Cavalier with leather seats.

  • The Allante was top dog, and spendy with the flown in Euro body! Pininferina style, actually! I had a Sim-Con roof that actually blew off, and I added parts for the R.Royce classic grille on the Deville, used to look classy

  • such an 80s ad!

  • I love the shot with the Allante passing the Mercedes SL!

  • Great spot! I remember it well. Thanks for sharing!

  • It's a damn shame what happened to the Cimarron, I actually like those cars even though no one else does.

  • I love the 1988 cadillac Cimarron in the ad!!!!!! I want one and im 15!!!!

  • Innit I loved it and I'm 13 LOL!

  • It is now a collectors item. You don't see too many of those anymore.

  • Most of them are in the Junk yard. All the CImarron is is a gloified Cavilier.

  • Oooh, just love the sequence with the explosion in the background! Don't really know why, but i sure love it.

  • If I had a nickel for every time I sang this song to myself back in the 80's, I could have bought a new Cadillac! I did own a 72 DeVille with the 472 engine.

  • I love this commercial and song!

  • Cadillac sure did make some ugly shit in the 80's.

  • i remember this commercial

  • The last cadillac I ever had any respect for was 1976 Cadillac's with the 8.2 500 cid V-8.

  • I love how at 0:38 the cadillac pulls in front of the mercedes. Hidden way to sow that cadillac is "pulling ahead" of mercedes-benz. Way to have a hidden meaning GM

  • Yes good scene, but only in Cadillacs wildest dreams.

  • Good Point. I love my mercedes-benz

  • I would perfer the Lincolns of the 80's over the Caddilacs becuse the 4.1 V-8 engine was a piece of junk.If you got 100000 miles out of that car without the engine block leaking antifreeze you were doing great.

  • wow. My mothers 1989 eldorado went 148,256 miles and we heard a loud "Clunk" sound come from the engine. and 2 seconds after that the car dies and we had to pull over. I get out of the car 2 minutes later after calling towing and we were swimming in a pile of green antifreeze. we fixed it then immediatly sold the car.

  • It doesn't surprise me at all.I don't claim to be an expert mechanic because I'm not.But I can say that I do try to work on all my own vehicles as best I can.Tuesday of this week I'm replacing an ignition module on a 1992 Buick Regal with a 3.1 V-6.The darned thing is getting no spark. When I took off the ignition module an had it tested at Auto Zone it failed.

  • I've never worked on the 4.1 V-8 caddilac before but my guess is that loud CLUNK you heard was probably the block giving out and cracking open.Though I'm not sure of this as I'M NOT AN EXPERT AT THESE THINGS.I have some mechanical knowlege though limited it is.

  • And BTW.Tell every one in your family to stay away from the modern Caddillacs. The NorthStar V-8 is not what its cracked up to be.If the starter goes you have to take apart the top of the intake manifold to get to it.And if the head gasket needs replaced you better open up that wallet real good cause you'll be paying $1700 dollars for it to.A firend I went to high school with who is certified as a mechanic told me this.

  • I can also verify this because I've seen a north star V-8 taken down in sections. The starter is inside the intake manifold

  • Do you own a cadillac? We owned 2 a 1989 and a 1994 eldorado. both bought used. our 94 lasted 103542 and the tranny went out. POS tranny. loved that car. we then bought an 02 jaguar x-type

  • No!But I know 2 people who have one.One of them showed me the engine in his cadillac and the spark plugs are practically impossible to get to without removing a great deal of stuff out of the way.I'm far from what you would call an expert mechanic but I do try to do all of my own mechanical work as best I can.

  • MY favorite luxury cars are the Chrysley Imperial,Chrysler,New Yorker,Chrysler 300 C and the older Lincoln Continental and Town Cars.

  • I really like the late 90s town cars. We also own a newer crown victoria. I have never seen a vehicle take that much gas!!! I am a huge fan of chrysler and their products. I respect your brand loyalty. I am done with cadillac products unless it is an 80s car. I loved our 89.

  • Apeaking for the Crown Victoria. If you have a late model Crown Victoria I can't speak for those but if you have a 1991 and older Crown Victoria with a 5.0L V-8 and its hard on gas than something is seriously wrong with the car.I had a 1990 Crown Victoria with a 5.0L V-8 and as long as I kept that car tuned up 100% I got a maximum of 25MPG on the highway and 19MPG in the city.

  • With the 5.0L V-8 Fords if you don't maintain the vehicles with those engines and don't periodictly check the tire conditions and front suspension components and emission components and the car lacks in maintanance the 5.0L V-8 in will suck gas like a fish out of water.Proper maintanance of the engine is mandatory fo gas efficcency.

  • Fuck Jap cars!

    American Pride!

    White Power!!

  • I learned to drive in my mom's old 86 Fleetwood. She kept that car for damn near ten years. It had the loudest horn of all time, seriously like a train. My friends thought it was hilarious when I'd pull into school they'd all give me the "pull the horn" signal that little kids give to big rig drivers on the open highway. I would blast that sucker and everyone within 100 feet who was not expecting it would jump. My friends would crack up.

  • Thanks for posting this video, I wouldn't have heard this since it aired in the 80's.

It's interesting to see the classic Fleetwood Brougham with the carbureted engine alongside the more modern FWD Cadillacs. The Brougham seemed to maintain the Cadillac styling I really liked more so than the FWD models. It almost seems like now Cadillac is portraying a sports-car type image as opposed to the old-fashioned images of luxury shown here.

  • I remember that commercial so well.......back then, I was asking the same question I am asking now "WHERE is the 'style'?" All the commercial had going for it was showing all the glitzy, materialistic, me-first aura of the '80's. Wasn't GM the butt of the competition's jokes back then, because with all the corporate-sharing of bodies and components, you couldn't tell a Chevy-from-a-Pontiac-from-a-Oldsmobile-from-a-Buick-from-a-Cadillac? THAT was why Lincoln-Mercury outsold them ALL back then!

  • To this day, there is still a sense of savvy pinash about this jingle, as well as what it represented back "then" of the American elegance of this brand. My grandfather owned a new '89 DeVille around this time--you could almost feel Cadillac style in all its glory when you rode it in. Now, that glory has faded...50+K for uninspiring mess on wheels. My 17K 2006 Honda Civic is a cut above in refinement, ergonomics, materials, and construction. One reason why American autos have lost flair.

  • Cadillacs are better now than they have ever been, that's why the CTS has been named Motortrend's Car of the Year; your square Civic didn't get that honor sorry.

    LONG LIVE CADILLAC

  • Actually the Civic did, sorry. The Civic did achieve Motortrend's 2006 accolade for Car of the Year. You see, unlike you, I do research before making a rebuttal. So yes, the Civic did earn that "honor," as well if not better than the CTS--I'm sure in terms of workmanship, refinement, and backed longevity. The CTS is nice, yes--however, why would a progressive person spend 40K on a Caddy when they can get more from a Lexus, Acura, or Beemer? Cadillac is caught up in a By-gone age.

  • Well the Civic didn't get it this year. I would like you to tell me what more they can get out of a C-class, 3-series, or an entry level Acura. It's great to get caught up in the Foreign = Good, GM = Bad hysteria but pleas explain to me how those cars are superior to the CTS.

  • lexus, acura or beamer? WTF none of them compare wit the new cts

  • bmw 760 li v12 beats the new cts....

  • @queensguido actually, although i dont like the new lexus' beamers or acuras. The acuras and lexus beat the cadilac because of GM's notorious quality issues....Thats direct from consumer reports

  • please dont even put acura in the luxury class... a tl literally is no better then a nissan maxima... and when i mean nothing beats the cts i mean the v that runs laps around any lexus, acura, or beamer competitor.

  • @queensguido CTS is a bullshit knockoff of German iron. American luxury cars need to get real.

  • Sorry, but I cannot realise:WHERE IS THE STYLE?During the 1980s most American cars were simple BOXY designs for old people(with some sweet exceptions like Corvette,Camaro,Firebird).Of course, today are BEAUTIFUL cars and I like them, but for those boxy sedans BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

  • When I become Prime minster you won't see me in anything less than a Cadillac.

  • A true classic......... CADILLAC STYLE!! I have driven one for 30 yrs and its still to this day Cadilac Style..... Do miss some of the added luxuries that they had then.........

  • Funny jingle, even funnyer that the Eldorados are 1987 model year ones.

  • ahhh yes, the cars that made GM what it is today!

  • GM is the king of cars. Sadly they have been unlucky and are not making profit. Cadillac Style!!

  • @jrkelm Yep begging for corporate welfare because they won't build good cars. Governnent (Bankrupt) Motors.

  • I've have this tune stuck in my head since I little lol

  • @radix9523 Me too, I was singing it in my head looking at some cars online so I just searched Cadillac Style on youtube and here it is! lol. This must have been designed to be stuck in your brain because it is still with me 21 years later lol. I was 12.

  • @WTC7WasPulled Did the same thing dude! The most memorable and most fitting jingle for America's finest luxury car even though these ones were pretty crappy lol!

  • This is advert is pure gold!! I love the old 70s to 93s cadillacs. The new ones are just sabbs with extra trim.

  • There is only one Cadillac that is a badge engineered Saab, and that is the BLS sold only in Europe. Every other Caddy is its own model. Plus, from what I heard, the new CTS is supposed to be a world class competitor.

  • I think Cadillac is on it's way back. Check out the new 2008 CTS. It actually looks like a Caddy. When I saw it, it made me happy. I haven't been as excited over a caddy since the late 80s Seville as shown in this video.

  • Comment removed

  • I almost cried when i saw this. So beautiful. It's a pitty they don't make them like this anymore.

  • I just got a perfect'Baby Caddy" Eldorado touring coupe on ebay, 22K miles, bright red, ALL leather interior and it IS FAST.and 28 MPG highway. did i mention how fast it is?

    Cadillac, Cadillac, Cadillac Style

  • The Cimarron is noticeable in its absence.

  • One appears at :52 seconds.

  • I miss the big Sedan De Ville of the mid 80's.

  • hey DarylHall1984 I got to tell you buddy, Mercedes was not ALWAYS better than the Cadillac...60s-70s...oh yea, and 1933-1945 when they were supplying HITLER! Dont type a response if you dont have appreciation for the video!

  • hay bigpiano1 !

uuuhu i've just waited for a comment like yours. give me just one good reason why cadillac was better in the 60s-70s than mercedes !

yeah you're right. mercedes supported HITLER ! and now ? maybe he was just a man with good taste. and just because HITLER drove mercedes they were although great cars ! you can't tell me that THIS is a real reason that cadillacs were / are better !?

i really hope that you give GOOD reasons next time ;)

  • Alright Darylhall....let see why cadillac was...pardon me...isbetter....well where do you wanna start??? How about for now we talk about service on the two cars....In both of the manufactures histories Cadillac has always had a longer warranty, longer roadside assistance and you are not bound to have your Cadillac serviced at a Cadillac dealer, you can do it where ever you want and not void the warranty as apposed to the German rival, Im running out of space so let me know if you want more!

  • we all know that the Mercedes SL you can see in this video at 38 seconds was waaay better than the Cadillac Allante back then. You can see in much Cadillac commercials that a Cadillac is overhauling a Mercedes. thats crazy cause Mercedes was ALWAYS better.

although this commercial is great and typical for the fantastic 80s :)

  • could someone please send me this song ? i searched everywhere for it but couldn't find it :(

    thank you :)

  • This is very classy and timeless marketing. One of Caddy's best campaigns ever. So classic in fact, you could replace those 80's models with today's Escalades and CTS's while retaining the music and imagery in the ad. Sandy Lyle won the Masters that year, incidentally... -artiejoe68

  • My wife and I had a 1991 Sedan Deville and it had a cassette tape telling all the features and of course this cool song. I like it much better than the current jingle they use. Cadillac went downhill when it started making those ugly gas-guzzling Escalades and naming their cars CTS, DTS, STS, etc! I'm sure now that gas is $4.00 a gallon, everyone who bought an Escalade is SO HAPPY to be getting 10 MPG! My wife drives a '05 Deville that and gets 18-19 MPG going to work on the interstate.

  • My aunt and Uncle has an 88-89 coupe Deville and they complain about the gas mileage... I like this jingle.... Cadillac Cadillac Cadillac Syle !!

  • gotta love the 80's commercials. Personally I would take the Fleetwood out of this line up. The Allante was a flop and the cimmaron didn't sell either, but the Fleetwood and Deville are two of the brands best.

  • You need to do some research before you say stupid shit like that. You are correct in some ways. The new CTS is a Sigma based car and the 3.6DI shares a block with the other 3.6 in the GM stable. However, the rest is pure Cadillac, from the suspension to the interior. You also dont seem to understand that every car company shares platforms etc. You are just another idiot who loves to self hate on America. If it was such crap would BMW buy Cadillac 6L-50 transmissions for its 3 and 5 series?

  • Uhhh... As a bit of 80's kitsch this commercial is amuzing, but dear God did Cadillac (and GM overall) products suck during the 80's. I say this as a 08 CTS owner who loves his Cadillac, but man, there isn't a car in this commercial that I would pay to own.

  • Thats a badass commercial, I like the explosion towards the end lol.

  • that guys gona get laid in the back of that sedan deville!

  • I hate the Cadillac Cimmaron!

  • One of the greatest commercial jingles of all time.

  • I LOVED THIS AND STILL DO!

  • This is a fantastic ad! My favorite part is the Allante accelerating ahead of the 80's 560SL. The "baby" Seville/Eldorado from this era have all but disappeared from our highways these days.

  • I love this commercial. Great song. The Seville in the commercial was my favorite body style of them all.

  • From 51-52 in the video, you can see the dreadful ''cadillac cimarron''

  • WOW! I love this commercial! I'd love it if somebody would make a DVD of all the "Cadillac Style" commercials.

  • Thanks so much for posting. Has to be one of the best commercials ever. It made my brother in law buy my sister a Cadillac after he saw it years ago.

  • this is the soundtrack to my (totally awesome) life. YEAH!

  • what model is the red convertable? It looks awesome

  • It was Allante! One amazing convertible Cadillac built during 80s! Mom owned a black one. Purely stylish, altough electrical problematic, and it was new.

  • FANTASTIC! I've been looking for these ads for YEARS. Does anybody remember the one that has a Brougham pulling a horse trailer while "Cadillac style" is playing?

  • Yes, I do remember the Brougham pulling a trailer. There were several "Cadillac Style" commericals for these few model years. I'm searching for them myself. Hopefully others will find them as well!

  • i love this

  • The big 1988 Brougham rules! I loved having it my senior year in high school back in 1999. It was my first car! Too bad in this ad that it didn't get a whole lot of camera time!

  • might I suggest an award as the 'Greatest Cadillac commercial'?

  • why cant they build a car like that today!!!!! none of theses new cars are worth the price , crummy interiors , lousy seats !! cheap carpet ill take my old 88 deville any day over any of these new ones!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this. This brought back memories. I remember all the Cadillac Style commercials that went on for many years. I have loved Cadillac since I was 5 years old. I have a Brougham from this era. Nothing else comes close!

  • One of the coolest commerical jingles of the 80s.

  • The 1992 Seville/Eldorado were Cadillac's first attempts at reviving the Standard of the World. I'd argue that the last "Standard of the World" Cadillac before the 1992 Seville/Eldorado was the 1967 Eldorado.

  • It's not that these were bad cars...they actually were well built by 1988 (the infamous HT4100 had been upgraded to the 4.5L V-8, which is pictured in the ad). However, they simply lacked the panache that European cars and the soon-to-arrive Lexus and Infiniti had. Even though Cadillac tried to lure younger buyers in 1985 with its new FWD Deville and Fleetwood, most buyers were still 60+ years of age.

  • I have been searching for the "Cadillac Style" commercials for years. Thanks for posting this one!

  • awesome ad, but the only real Cadillacs in here are the big Brougham and the Allante, the rest were insults to the Standard of the World.

  • Cadillac! Cadillac! Cadillac style!! Catchy tune, but these cars were the biggest embarrassment ever to the Cadillac name. well maybe not the Allante.

  • The Allante was designed and partially assembled by PininFarina of Turin, Italy.

  • come on im waiting for some more, how bout from years like 1970,71,72,73,75,76,77,78,79,80,81,82,83,84,85,86,87,

and 89, well you get the idea

  • Oh lord I saw a Cimarron (a "Caddalier") in there. Makes sense that in this 1988 commercial, they most featured it driving hidden behind large trees since it had become that division's major embarrasment of all time. This was also the last model year for it.

  • What a great commercial.

  • When I was in my twenties. I* told someone that a Cadillac was a chick bait car.

  • The least stylish and most unworthy cars to bear the name ever made by Cadillac.

  • This damn song is going to be stuck in my head... for weeks.

  • Finally!! Thank you!! Someone put Cadillac Style on here. It was great to see and add to my play lists.
