My god...people chill out. Me and my family have been breeding Dachshunds for YEARS and they sit up like this all the time and we have never had a back injury. It's as simple as knowing what's going too far. There's more chance for injury by picking them up than there is by letting them sit up here and there.
not funny.. you do realize that they can slip a disk standing up like that.. you should never allow them to jump off furniture or sit up like this because their backs can't support it..

@np9490 get a lot of lil tiny snacks. give her one. then the next, give her 1 jus a bit higher, but above her, not in front of her. then the next a lil higher. after several o these, they should be outta her reach. she'll jump for them. give her a couple when she jumps for em. keep holding treats higher n higher until she cant jump and reach. then when she stands for these quickly give her a treat. each time she stands, give the treat slower n slower, so she stands longer n longer each time .
