  • Loved the Noon Show. My mom always watched when she was home for lunch and my sister and I watched during the summer. Teddy and Elaine were great. Wonderful memories.

  • Very cool! I used to get up and ready for school with Ralph Emery, Norm, Jerry and the band. They had a lot of singers who went on to great fame and fortune after that show. I remember their long time sponsor, Mid-South Aluminum-"Don't put it off, put it on!".

Good to see a clip of Teddy Bart and Elaine Gannick from the old "Noon" show too! Great station, great memories!

  • Who are the reporters starting at the 2:00 mark? Jim somebody... Carol somebody? The other guy is a ringer for Arthur Ashe

  • Who can name everybody in pic at 2:12?

  • Alan Griggs at 2:23. He is now on Tennessee Wild Side on PBS. Really nice guy!

  • This is awesome footage! Please post more if at all possible! Does anyone know what the (very funky) music is in the background when the reporters are giving their names?

  • who remembers Lonnie and Dan doing the news?

    Great Vid.

I watched these folks growing up here in Mid Tn.

  • You will be surely miss Dan...

    30 September 1941 - 8 April 2009

  • Thanks for posting this wonderful history of WSM TV - I recognize a good deal of people.

  • Wow, what memories! I forgot what Ralph Emery looked like with a beard!

  • Wow, what a great piece of our station's history!

  • Wow, I just found this. What history! I can't believe how much TV I used to watch when I was a kid, how highly I thought of Ch. 4 back then, and how little of it I watch now.

  • I followed a link from Dan Miller's blog to get to this video! Wow! Thanks for posting this. It brought back a lot of great childhood memories for me.

  • Now that was television! Pure gold. Channel 4 was the best! Please post more stuff like this - it's priceless!

  • This is excellent! Thank you for posting. It sure brings back some good memories.
