okay, so i am in the west genesee marching band and i just wanna let you all know that were not all stuck up and cocky like this kid that keeps harassing you. @wgbandgeek30 stop. victor performed better than we did last year. we had a very difficult show that we couldnt march and the judges had trouble understanding. personally i think victor deserved to win. i mean for being in national class for what, 3 years? and coming out on top? i say congrats!

My opinion is Victor should not of won. Their music did not have a level of difficulty as much as WG did. Their show was performed much better as well. My opinion is 1st WG 2nd OP 3rd Arlington 4th Victor. And btw us WG kids are not sore losers. Most of us just saw that we loss and were like "shit". We didnt go depressed. It was just a select few. As a member of Victor for the 2010 season... I have to say that was incredible. I actually had just joined as a senior (never too late I guess?) but most of my friends had been in band since junior high and have worked towards that for the entirety of their time in high school. Half our instructors were crying... it was unbelievable and I know we deserved it... they deserved it.
It's the judges job to score the bands as they see it. Period. And they saw Victor as the best band that day. End of story. Sour grapes is a very unattractive trait for yourself and your band WGbandgeek and thebookobsessedgirl. Shame on you. You must learn to accept defeat as well as you revel in victory. It's part of life.
My goodness, as an outsider with no connections to either schools yet someone who is close in the area to both programs and who attends a local university with a variety of marching experience including DCI, I must say I cannot stand the attitudes that you guys have about marching band here in CNY, its NOT about winning, its about performance and its about maxing out a show, you honestly should not care about a score, if you felt like you performed your best, you've already won

i hate seeing all these people from WG complaining about how they should have won. EVERY band thinks they are the best when they are at the top of their game but there can only be one winner. the judges made their decision and there's no going back. there's bigger things in life.
@WGbandgeek You really need to stay humble. Just because WG has won 30 times doesn't mean you deserve to win every year. I spent three years in the Wildcat Band and remember how I felt when we came in second in '07 all too well. Yes, it sucked but I got over it. We didn't deserve to win that year, OP did. This year was the same way, and honestly I thought Arlington, OP and Victor outperformed WG; as much as i wanted WG to come out on top I knew that the other three deserved it more.
I didn't post these videos so you guys could fight about who did better. Everyone did an amazing job at dome this year and I wanted everyone to see it. You all had amazing shows and all performed like champions. Great Job All!
@Jfergs15 Amen. Thanks for posting these videos! This season was so competitive and it is nice to compare all the bands. I've been around this activity for a while, and I'm saddened to see the comments being left by WG people, not just on here but on the syracuse.com site, etc. Just because you guys have a history doesn't mean it is going to stay like that. Winning isn't everything. You're only giving your band a worse reputation by being a snob. My 2 cents.

@WGbandgeek Well i know you have to work for it, We've competed for 8 years. Our first year was 1978. We were the only competitors in the NOVICE category, so we won. Then a bunch of years later, 2003 our first REAL competition we come in 6th. Then in 2004 & in 05, we win twice in a row. We moved up, came in 4th, then after that we came in 2nd overall, but first in state. (Northwestern is from penn.) So we got the Governors cup. And in 2008 we tied for first against Moho. What I'm saying is....

They were ALWAYS on the move which I think a true marching band is supposed to do, YES you guys were too on the move too. Yes we all know you guys are an OUTSTANDING band, but every king has to fall. This was Victor's 3rd of being National, they RAPIDLY climbed the ladder to come this far, they used to be a SS2 Band! As a member of Victor for the 2010 season... I have to say that was incredible. I actually had just joined as a senior (never too late I guess?) but most of my friends had been in band since junior high and have worked towards that for the entirety of their time in high school. Half our instructors were crying... it was unbelievable and I know we deserved it... they deserved it.

It's the judges job to score the bands as they see it. Period. And they saw Victor as the best band that day. End of story. Sour grapes is a very unattractive trait for yourself and your band WGbandgeek and thebookobsessedgirl. Shame on you. You must learn to accept defeat as well as you revel in victory. It's part of life.

My goodness, as an outsider with no connections to either schools yet someone who is close in the area to both programs and who attends a local university with a variety of marching experience including DCI, I must say I cannot stand the attitudes that you guys have about marching band here in CNY, its NOT about winning, its about performance and its about maxing out a show, you honestly should not care about a score, if you felt like you performed your best, you've already won

@SUNSNARE06 I agree all the bands in national division are amazing because you guys work so hard and have to give your self credit for that cuz its not about winning you don't need to win to know you put an amazing show out there becuz trust me you have inspired me and a tone of other people you Im sure and if you inspired, intimidated, amazed, entertained, worked hard, and gave a great quality legit qualified performance then you have done your job as a marching band

the reason i give for being upset tht we (WG) didnt win is because to be truthful your band does not play a good fraction of the show, you guys are frankly carried by your pit and im sorry for continuing this ongoing argument but i thought it needed to be said

@archstorm1 thank you for making Arlington second because WG doesn't need to win every year and Arlington is like extremely low budget and they can't even go to nationals so it doesn't matter if Arlington wins and victor is amazing and they probably can go to nationals.

i hate seeing all these people from WG complaining about how they should have won. EVERY band thinks they are the best when they are at the top of their game but there can only be one winner. the judges made their decision and there's no going back. there's bigger things in life.

@WGbandgeek You really need to stay humble. Just because WG has won 30 times doesn't mean you deserve to win every year. I spent three years in the Wildcat Band and remember how I felt when we came in second in '07 all too well. Yes, it sucked but I got over it. We didn't deserve to win that year, OP did. This year was the same way, and honestly I thought Arlington, OP and Victor outperformed WG; as much as i wanted WG to come out on top I knew that the other three deserved it more.

I didn't post these videos so you guys could fight about who did better. Everyone did an amazing job at dome this year and I wanted everyone to see it. You all had amazing shows and all performed like champions. Great Job All!

@Jfergs15 Amen. Thanks for posting these videos! This season was so competitive and it is nice to compare all the bands. I've been around this activity for a while, and I'm saddened to see the comments being left by WG people, not just on here but on the syracuse.com site, etc. Just because you guys have a history doesn't mean it is going to stay like that. Winning isn't everything. You're only giving your band a worse reputation by being a snob. My 2 cents.

IDK, I Mean WG visual was not the best this year,, that's probably why you guys got 3rd, i mean a judge at Oswego put us (CNS) over WG in visual.

@WGbandgeek ... I dunno Arlington seems to be growing every year. And like I said, this was Victor's 3rd year in NAT., they are growing and growing, every time they step onto that field.

@WGbandgeek (cont.) Yes, there probably is pressure. And when did i say NAT. looked easy? And i agree with showing no mercy. I'm saying that Victor was the better team. End of story. Also i was disappointed with Arlington's spot. I think it should've went...

3rd (Tied) Orchard Park & WG, and then the rest followed.

@WGbandgeek Well i know you have to work for it, We've competed for 8 years. Our first year was 1978. We were the only competitors in the NOVICE category, so we won. Then a bunch of years later, 2003 our first REAL competition we come in 6th. Then in 2004 & in 05, we win twice in a row. We moved up, came in 4th, then after that we came in 2nd overall, but first in state. (Northwestern is from penn.) So we got the Governors cup. And in 2008 we tied for first against Moho. What I'm saying is....

@WGbandgeek ... I never said you guys sucked? I said you guys were OUTSTANDING, but i agree with the Judges, Victor pulled a better show than you guys. They were ALWAYS on the move which I think a true marching band is supposed to do, YES you guys were too on the move too. And their music made me GLUED to the show, no too offend you YES your visual was epic, but i just wasn't a fan of the music. It all comes down to personal opinion in marching band which sucks, but you guys gotta let others win

@WGbandgeek Can I ask you how many times has Victor been to nationals? Then let me ask you how many times West Genny has been to nationals? Exactly. Yes we all know you guys are an OUTSTANDING band, but every king has to fall. This was Victor's 3rd of being National, they RAPIDLY climbed the ladder to come this far, they used to be a SS2 Band! Now they've come this far. Yes everyone is disappointed to when they lose. Imagine when I was standing at retreat, and we lost by .05! (LeRoy SS2)

@WGbandgeek victor stole orchard park's first place show from 2007. orchard park should have one this year. look out for orchard park next year. theres a sousaphone who won't accept anything but first. (me)
