He wasn't arrested for breaking into his own house. The police were called because it looked like somebody was breaking in. When the cops got there, and questioned him, he got irate about being racially profiled and became extremely confrontational. If a white person had treated a white cop in the same way, he would have been arrested too. It got blown out of proportion and mishandled, which gave fuel to the left and right extremist.

From what I seen on the news, the cops was talking to the professor, then the professor said something to the tune of "yo mama" after he had provided the officer with two forms of I.D., his state license and university I.D. and the cops still asked him to step outside of his home, in which he had already provided evidence of him living there. The professor didn't pose a threat to that police officers health nor did he do anything wrong. He had no reason to further detain him. Explain that??

What was the cop going to do, lecture him on why he can't do what he wants to his own property? That cop trying to detain him from that point on is like some cop coming to your house and trying to arrest you without probable cause or an arrest warrant.
