i just removed a tick from my cat today, and I'm confident that I got it all out. I just used a kleenex and it was still alive when I flushed the sucker.. what things should i watch out for?
its kinda rough seeing open wounds on a cat.. it seems he doesn't mind you prying it open that much... i hope they get all the chunks of the tick out of there or it might get infected deeper down... peroxide is a good way to clean up cuts but its not a very good antiseptic.. isopropyl alcohol is better for killing topical bacteria

My cats get ticks all the time.
The way that we usually get them off is to burn it with a needle/tweezer, (If the body is still sticking out) then it comes off itself.
My other cat has one now and the whole body except for some little piece, is in him. Guess he'll need a vet to take care of that one.
