We saw this "movie version" it was not good! As I watched this movie with an open mind-most of it was not bad until the very end. As huge, huge Phantom of the Opera fans (we've seen it over 50 times all over the world) we absolutely hated the ending of Love Never Dies–no wonder it closed in London after only 18 months! It looked to me like Andrew Lloyd Webber had PURE revenge on his former wife Sarah Brightman. He wrote Christine for her and he wanted “closure” from her! Art imitates life.

I just got back from seeing it!! It was freaking amazing!! I went in ready for disappointment, but this definitely did not disappoint! You can't compare the two because they're so different. I love BOTH in their different ways. Ah! Just so great. FANTASIC job to Webber!!

I like the changes in the australian production. Even though I think the Australian Cast is wonderful, I still would LOVE to have the Londen version on DVD as wel!! I'm a big fan of Sierra and Ramin!! But also, to me, it feels that the Londen Cast puts more emotion in the whole performance. Of course i'll buy this DVD, but I secretly hope that the Londen production can come on DVD as well (if it is recorded....)

I love this production,if it were alternative casts or not,I still love it dearly,I will buy it even not Ramin and Sierra.Ben and Anna nail the show to me,Ramin and Sierra are GREAT,but AU LND has special features just as UK one...

I went and saw this show a couple of days ago at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney and I thought that the Coney Island scene in particular was visually stunning. This production was also, at certain times, quite overwhelming. In fact, I'm not ashamed to say it but I was welling up a few times during the show, especially when the young lady who played Christine first started singing. Ditto for the little kid who played their son. Mind you all of this is coming from someone who's hardly an opera fan.

I like the sequel, except one thing: their child. Erik is simply not a type of man for a father, he is a Byronic hero, and his relationship with Christine was at first something between daughter and father (so it's a bit awkward for them to have kid) and later, it grew up in passionate & mysterious romance of denied love, so one more reason for not having a kid.

@Elizabeth111Music actually, there's a reason for that. the changed most of the plot and the design of the show - it makes sense to record this one because i've seen both and this is by far superior.

I just saw the Les Miserables 2012 West End trailer and saw that Ramin Karimloo is Jean Valjean... ohh I loved him in Love Never Dies and will love him in Les Mis... Good Luck to Ben Lewis for this great honor of playing the Phantom x
