  • "IN YOUR FACE......as they say."

  • look at those shorts

  • "In your face as they say" LOLI don't think there is a more early 80's, white-guy phrase that the announcer could have uttered!! Larry Legend!!!

  • I thought that he traveled lol.

  • @RushuFriends I thought too, but if you look close he dribbles

  • he traveled more then LeBron does in a season.

  • What a travel by bird on the dunk.

  • @JamarcusCB:

I thought that too at first. Look just before he takes off. He takes a 'gather dribble.'

  • they were saying bang back in the day to. Thats like the most used commentator phrase nowadays when someone hits a big three pointer in the nba.

  • i thought i was gonna get rick rolled...

  • Bird can beat Kobe, Lebron, and D-Wade. If it was 3 on 2, he and Magic can beat Kobe, Lebron, and D-Wade

  • @KWCline91 nah dont think so

  • @AlexHallsYT Just afraid to admit it.

  • Bird stopped dunking when he hurt his back.

  • no travel??

  • @Airbear12321 he did a quick dribble before the dunk

  • @crazybananaassassin3 still a travel...

  • @Airbear12321 i can tell ur black

  • @mtWHITE100 yea airbear12321 just screams black

  • @Airbear12321 dont mock me u nigger

  • Dr. J mising the easy left handed layup at start of video.....Robert Horry was right when in June 2007 he said back in the 1980s guys couldn't go left.

  • bird actually traveled twice in this video. great dunk nonetheless, and he isnt even remotely close to lebron james when it comes to traveling :)

  • no one plays like the way he does at 0:26 anymore..

absolutely mind-blowingly efficient and skilled. just awesome

  • Hahaa!!! *Nelson laugh*

  • looking for dr.j but i cant see him

  • he took 5 steps

  • @TheJayson1245 12. lol

  • I'm fully convinced LeChoke couldn't hold Larry Bird's jockstrap.

  • "In your face as they say!" haha

  • Lebron traveled

  • Drake has clearly never seen this.

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!! biggest travel I've ever seen. Get on the bus

  • god damn i wish i alive when bird played! My hero!

  • white people dunk funny

  • @lakerland24 barely off the ground it why... lol...

  • unless my shoes have the best ankle protection and foot support, im too hesitant to dunk sometimes, lol.

  • wow what a travel

  • I guess drake didnt look up any dunks on youtube about larry bird dunking

  • I guess DRAKE looks like the world's most clueless basketball fan now.

  • @Stunr99 I bet drake only watch when bird got older and couldn't dunk or he just didn't dunk all the time because he didn't need to.

  • @Stunr99 I don't get it?

  • 0:07 lool how many steps did he take???

  • somebody direct Drake from the 2k12 commercials to this video.

  • Did you see how fkkn long he was open for on the last play?

  • Bird has always been my fav player

  • Larry Bird is awesome....but he totally traveled

  • a hall of famer that could barely get off the ground

    LEGEND!

  • "in yah face," as they say

  • hey why is there a commercial tryna bag on bird.

  • Damn his vertical seems unimpressive.

  • In high school, Larry Bird and his brothers used to drive all over the midwest (Indianapolis, Saint Louis, Gary, Chicago, Kansas City, Detroit. Cincinnati) and Louisville to play in some of the toughest playgrounds imaginable. That's where he earned the nickname "the brother of another color". Dude was a playground legend before the rest of the country saw him play for Indiana State. That's why he never played intimidated when he came to the NBA. Prison-ball in Gary was probably tougher to him.

  • LOL this dunk is great the best part is he only jumped like a foot and a half offf the ground and still dunked on the dude

  • @scrapdawgs:

He actually had a pretty respectable vertical jump. Bird and Malone actually recorded that same exact vertical jump at the NBA combine...28 inches. I got that stat from a site called TopEnd Sports.

  • @scrapdawgs He jumped like 25 inches but it was a timing thing, Caldwell Jones jumped more and still got dunked on because Larry´s long arms and perfect timing.Gasol does this all the time.

  • Looks like the beatles playing basketball.

  • in your face, as they say

  • Larry Bird must have been thinking fuck it I'm tired of hitting 3's let me just dunk it on Caldwell Jones...LOL

  • dMN THATS THE CLEANEST DUNK FACE IVE VER SEEN ON YOUTUBE HE FUCKED THAT NIGGA UP!

  • and people say he wasnt athletic.

  • @TheBoiFlip:

That's what I say. You can't play in the NBA and be a poor athlete. You have to at least be fast enough and explosive enough. Bird was at least those two things. He was actually Magic Johnson's athletic equal.

  • DANG!! The meanest Bird dunk?

  • Bird pre back injury!(1984) Solid jumper, and pretty quick too.

  • That J is so 'effin pretty....

  • 2 steps after dribble clean

  • Comment removed

  • @MatthewHageman 2 steps after dripple, not a walk, can't believe your questioning this compared to the 4 dribbles Lebrick and others are allowed to take.

  • @MerkinMuffly fuck you cuntflutter....

  • One of the hardest working athletes ever

  • That was pretty nasty

  • Larry Bird with no regard for human life!!!

  • he definitely put his dribble down

  • When they show the instant replay he took a dribble. Its hard 2 c it cuz of the angle

  • I'm pretty sure the steps he takes from 0:43 onwards would classify as 'traveling'?

  • @samsamba08 :

Yeah he took 5 steps. I counted em.

  • @tw69hands2 go back to school, you can't count.

  • @tw69hands2 are u completely idiot...watch te replay after he took the ball he made 2 steps!this comparision with lebron's 3-4 steps is just fool!

  • When Larry was this age he was maybe the best player ever.

  • @impassable best white player

  • @MatthewHageman top 5 player all time.

  • Bird had a 28 inch vertical (before the back injuries), the exact same as Karl Malone, so the idea that he couldn't jump is ridiculous.

  • who says white man cant dunk :P

  • It was a nice dunk but it just seemed to go in slowmotion, lol

  • i thought he travel but then i look closely and he didnt

  • @MrCibao809 Yeah, because gee, no one in the NBA dunking ever traveled...only 90 percent of the time.

  • check out how absurdly quick that release is at 1:54. The ball doesn't stop moving, he just redirects it towards the hoop. for a swish.

  • Caldwell Jones unliked this video

  • Bird is the word.

  • Wow I never seen this before. Pretty cool

  • In your face as they say...

  • Holy shit, he traveled like 5 steps, what da fook

  • @46Imthebest he dribbled once...

  • @46Imthebest at first i thought it was a travel too, but if you watch closely, u can see him bounce the ball after he catches then takes two steps toward the rim for the dunk.

  • that was a major travel hahaha

  • Yeah these rare Larry vids I can watch all day. It is, like the others are saying on here, basketball poetry. And I've never seen that dunk before.

  • sick way better than kobe

  • travel

  • Unbelievable. I could watch these Bird videos all day. I've never seen a player like him.

  • That last jumpshot is sick, he barley touched it.

  • damn, i didn't know this goofy white brady bunch motherfucker could dunk.

  • Bird was the DaVinci of basketball and Magic was the Givenchy hahaha

  • delicious

  • shit he makes every shot!

  • Larry Bird... if not for injuries (him & teammates)... G.O.A.T !!!!

  • bird could go on a scoring tear like no other, from every point on the floor, in every way.

  • Comment removed

  • The announcers sound like they're broadcasting from the nursing home...LOL

"Watch this one; its a honey!" Whoa nelly! ''In you're face' as the kids say." Hold on I have to go BM...

  • @mayhem8z No , Jerry West had the quickest release .

  • He wasn't as unathletic as people thought. In his younger years he had a nice quick first step and he could run the court very well. Plus he obviously had enough ups to poster dunk that guy.

  • Who said that Larry Bird couldn't jump.

  • @tw69hands2 He 6'9. he suppose to jump/ BUT DAMN that was ill.

  • @c9mavrick Is that 25 inches rated svj or rvj?

  • @spiritring A Vertical of 25 inches is rvj.

  • @c9mavrick what was his standing reach? Is he 1 footed jumper?

  • @spiritring That a 1 and half jump. That the basic of basketball when attack the rack.

  • @c9mavrick I know that's a 1 footed take off. I'm just asking if he jumps higher off 1. Simple.

  • @c9mavrick 28'' vert is what bird had.

  • In your face, as they say.

  • Man, I wish that the Celtics would wear the green shoes again. I remember sweating my parents for a pair of green nikes back in the 80s, like the ones Henderson (#42) is wearing. Those were the days.

  • Before it was Magic vs Bird in the NBA, it was really Bird vs Dr. J, the Celtics and the Sixers played some classic games/series in the early 80s.

  • larry with a facial?

  • haha, "in your face as they say"...

  • @fatal9ish hey dude ur videos are getting even better!!! this one is awesome, the last shot i had to watch about 3 times to belive it. keep up the great work !!!!

  • Did you see how unselfish these Celtics played? That's what's missing with almost every NBA team today.

  • @EvanConover:

Unselfish play is missing everywhere, even the playgrounds.

  • @tw69hands2

No kidding. I was just focusing on the NBA specifically, but that's right too.

  • haha, who said Larry Bird couldn't fly, great video.

  • I'll say! Thanks again for all these uploads.

  • 12/14? Damn! Talk about being on fire. Do you know his final box score? (rebounding, assists, steals, fg%?) As always, appreciate these Bird videos. Not enough live raw footage of Bird out there, but thankfully that is changing thanks to fatal9ish. Oh yeah, and sweet fall-away at about 1:30, where the Cooz goes "He wanted that one, boy!".

  • @phishhead11 I agree, not enough full games out there. Highlights don't show you how a player really played, they don't show you how smart or patient a player was. Like Steve Nash, highlights don't show you the little things. Not saying Nash is at Larry's level, but things like keeping a dribble alive so he can constantly keep moving, coming to the rebounder so he can make an easy, easy outlet pass, being a master of the pick and roll...

  • Haha, i never expected to see an in your face dunk from Bird, that was pretty nasty. As for the rest of the highlights...its like basketball poetry.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • @saturndual32 YOU ARE RIGHT AND HE POSTERISED CALDWELL JONES,ONE OF THE BEST BLOCKERS AND DEFNDERS.I THINK BIRD'S ATHLETISISM IS UNDERRATED BECAUSE OF HIS SHOOTING AND ALL AROUND TALENT.
